If you like his reviews, why not try his games?

Personal recommendations include:

His Flashback-clone, 1213.

His Duke3D TC, Age Of Evil.

His most famous games; 5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes and 6 Days a Sacrifice. Play them in order and tell me you won't be creeped out somewhere along the way.

Good move by Escapist to get it. Has done its traffic a world of good.

It seems to spike around his Bioshock and Halo 3 reviews :P
Don't think he really is a console lover, since he sure loves to piss off the xboys.

On another note, I recommend his webcomics too.
Especially Angular Mike and Yahtzee Takes On The World.

Some of the other stuff on the site is pretty cool too.
Like this awesome flowchart!

Pedantic criticisms sum up to the completely useless point that the game lacks immersion - which is a point of subjective consequence and not an analysis of game design.

Funny as always - an addition to the Oblivion debate it's not.

Kinda late don't you think since the game is 2 years old now?
Still a good laugh. Especially the emperor part.

Yahtzee = God

I always enjoy the bursts of helpless rage following his reviews. He is a gentleman, a scholar, and the best troll ever. :D

I hoped he'd really bite down on the gameplay more, but i suppose the word 'immersion' used in the context he used it in, is enough to give any Oblivionette a brain tumor.

What's this? A reviewer who hasn't been bribed yet. Maybe we should alert the gaming industry.

Anyway, I didn't know that Yahtzee did reviews, but his games are actually pretty good. Well the ones I've played, at least.

I don't find this so funny... it's more funny in a "Yeah, take that Oblivion!" kinda way.
Otherwise, he had much, much funnier reviews. He also points out quite often things that are wrong with game industry today... although sometimes he just seems to appreciate similar wrong things. But hey, even though he's no god I'd rather listen to him than to pretty much 99% of the gaming media.

It's still not enough to even tempt me into listening to some nerdrage over a game, i really can't see the attraction to his shows.

You're right, his hype really is starting to reach a point where it's bound to piss people off.

Hey, and rightly so. If someone does not take his 'reviews' with a pinch of salt, it's his fault. Meanwhile, the rest of us can have some genuine laughs. :p

I didn't see this had already been posted here. Sorry for posting in that other thread. didn't mean to ruin someone's day or piss someone off.

I thought his reviews started getting less funny when he changed his intro but they had been up until this one (not bad, just not that funny). His "reviews" go up in down in quality and humor level but when he has a good day, it's a great day. Anyway, here's to hoping that he reviews Fallout 3 (which I'm not so sure he will).

he's really funny and I like how he still brings up the negative points even though he likes the game as a whole.

that's just the thing though - it's a lot easier to just be negative and talk shit about everything than to do a fair balanced review. and it's not like he's a genius or anything, he just has a good sense of humour. anyone taking his reviews seriously probably need to get out more.

It's mostly because most of games are liked despite their (sometimes irritating) flaws not becaus they don't have flaws :P .
