Everything looks so green! It hurts my eyes! -_-
Wouldn't nuclear winter last for several years (predicted 99% blocked sunlight in first few years), thus destroying vegetation, except maybe for the most resilient plants. This untouched vegetation and perfectly trimmed golf courses are unacceptable.
Wait, did they use G.E.C.K.?
HONEST HEARTS RANDALL CLARK:
October 28th
Five days on foot, still can't sleep.

Outside it's like nothing happened. Sky looks wrong, that's all.

Hike back to overturned NatGuard truck near Toquerville? After blisters heal, maybe.

Looks like USGS team was researching something here in cave. Cleared out when bombs fell, left equipment behind. Probably thought they had families to run back to.

October 29th
Char, must've said this out loud a thousand times walking here. Maybe writing it will feel more like you heard.

You were right.

I was north of Spanish Fork. Took the 77 along Provo Bay to steer clear of town. Would've been home in an hour. Engine died, truck just stopped. So did a Chryslus in the other lane. Knew right away.

First nuke hit SLC inside a minute. I was looking South - Lucky Man! Flash behind me so bright world looked on fire. Old couple from the Chryslus starts screaming they can't see.

Didn't watch you die, Char. Saved my eyes. Counted 12 more flashes next 7 minutes. Ground shook each time, 18 seconds later.

When nothing hit for half an hour, took a look. Globe of fire where you and Alexdied. Didn't kid myself.

Didn't know what to do. Grabbed my pack and rifle.

Saw to the old couple. Sat them up against car, let them hold and comfort each other. Told them I was going to get help, everything be okay. One bullet through both heads. Instant.

Five day hike back to Zion.

You told me. Stop running off to the wild. Man belongs with his family.

You were right. You were right. You were right. You were right. Wasn't there to hold you and my boy. Died without me. Never touch you or him again.

Should shoot myself. What I deserve.

Can't. Maybe soon.

October 31st
Black rain falling outside. Geiger jumping. Should let it kill me but bottling water from back of cave all the same.

November 2nd
Sounds dead outside, but can't look. Geiger goes crazy 15 feet from cave mouth.

Do the math. Radiation goes down before water runs out or I never leave this cave.

January 1st
Happy New Year.

Two months in cave. Still lethal outside. Don't get it. In army they said 2-4 weeks cleared fallout.

Less than a month's water left. Been mopping condensation off cave walls, wringing shirt into bottles. Trading calories for H2O. Food stocks holding. Thanks, USGS.

If there was even a chance I'd see the two of you again, I'd run outside.

January 10th
Sounded like windstorm out there for 2 days. Radiation down 500. What happened?

January 15th
Took a peek. Snow. It glows green.

January 28th
Radiation low enough I could risk short exposure outside.

More important, cave stream now drinkable if I use Rad drugs.

January 30th
There is nothing alive out there.

Bethesda should really be thrown into the fire for this one.

One big fucking criticism of the modern day video game industry is the mentality of "release it now, fix it later" that a lot of developers/publishers have so for Bethesda to practically beg for leisure people should be even more critical of them. None of this "oh but c'mon guys, you know how buggy our games are. We can't possibly be held responsible for that. And hey, we know this will be a buggy fucking mess at the start but like, we promise to fix it later bruh!", Bethesda has coasted on their buggy games being charming for way too long and it really is time for people to be vocal and critical of this shit. Especially considering the circumstances around this beta being for free QA for Bethesda, not the customers of course since they have to pay for the priveledge, and it's so late that whatever people actually report they won't manage to fix in time anyway before release is upon them.

So, the Super Mutants in 76 are more or less another new branch created via West Tek poisoning the water supply...okay.

Remember when FEV was top secret, something the government tried to hide from the public?
While the original FEV did create big huge (but dumb) mutants it was the Master who created FEV2 that resulted in the Super Mutants and Nightkin from Fallout 1, 2 and FNV.

Also while the corporations in Fallout were sometimes quite immoral in their research and pursuit of greed they never went to the level of cartoon villainy that Bethesda's writers made up.

I love how FEV went to this top secret virus to nearly everyone and their brother having it. This is some Saturday morning cartoon villain level crap. Oh and the BOMB looking space station thingy, is a crashed Space Craft.

Some CEO at West- Tek decided
"Well, we have all that leftover shit that Army left. Pour that into the river next to a village my mother-in-law lives. You know, the one where secret government guys- Boston newspaper discovered their base at Oil Rig- popped another secret base".

Nothing in the Glow says that it didn't happen.

Ooh could you give some more details on the space craft thingy Gaddes? Always interested in anything space travel related.

As for FEV, yep. Some people on a Bethesda forum were hoping that the player can buy FEV from a drug dealer to turn themselves into a Super Mutant.

And as long as Bethesda makes Fallout games there will always be new sources of FEV.

:lmao:

Those wacky West Tek scientists.

Sadly that's all the info I have on it Dutch. I was watching someone on Youtube talk about the 76 beta and they mentioned it's a space craft. It's not alien and it's surrounded by Super Mutants but other than that, no further info.

Also it just occured to me- BoS in West Virginia could contact West Coast BoS via THE SATELLITE™, so why is everyone in California so surprised when they discover Supermutants and later the Enclave, if the West Virginia chapter encountered both of them over a century earlier?

Because Bethesda doesn't actually think that far ahead or take the games that happen after this one in the timeline into consideration and just come up with contrived nonsense to put stuff in the game they believe should be in every Fallout game.

I'm all for a change, but some people seem to forget that change can be good or bad. Change in itself doesn't mean it's automatically good. All of this crap they are putting in Fallout 76 is BAD change.

Man, that is sad and pathetic treatment of the IP.

So I don't get why they didn't just say Mutants from Vault 87 wandered over looking for people to kidnap for FEV conversion. It's pretty much one state over.

Why is the lore for 76 so compartmental even though it's a stones throw from Fallout 3's location? Did the V87 mutants not exist? Did the developers consciously ignore the over-world narrative of Fallout 3 out of sheer embarrassment?

Oh they think about how to force things in.

Didn't the BoS mention the Super Mutants in Fo3 being already entrenched in D.C by the time they got there? Seriously, do we need a new batch of Super Mutants every game? Half the stuff they add in 76 lore wise punches gaping holes in the stuff they wanted to establish in FO3 and 4.

Feels kinda odd that a lot of you guys are judging this game like it is a single player game.

On the other hand it is a rust/division kind of game wich have zero to no interesst for me so i will probably never know if it is good or bad at what it is supposed to be/do and i won't be loosing any sleep over it.

No one here is judging the game as single player game. They are just adding lore that completely contradict established lore in other games, even from their own games.

Yeah, it has reached that point that they start to break the lore they have made for the series.

I am judging it based on the shit I see and the shit I see is stupid.

It is one thing to break things set up by others, it is when you start breaking your own shit that people really start to take notice.
