Imagine paying to play in a beta that deletes your files.

Imagine paying to play in a beta. This is the stuff you should expect from a beta, they should pay the testers, not the other way around. Anyway, it's not like you pay more for the beta, you pay the same, just that you pay earlier... you know, before even knowing if the released game will suck. That's called gambling where I come from, only you get no reward and all risk.

D-did they really just take a bunch of animals and give them two or more heads and called them mutants?

Well guys remember it is just a . . .Beta.
Ye, just a beta. And since their shop-client deletes the game if you clickedy-click stuff, this buys additional time to fix ingame issues I guess. ;)

By the way I came across a user-comment on a german-based games-site. The player stated that he played the beta for roughly 30 minutes, which was enough to accumulate 3 nearly full sets of t51, one set of t45 and a nearly complete set of t60 power armours, as well as 10 fusion cores. THIRTY Minutes.
The guy said the frames strenght-boost (to 10 apparently) combined with its 60 armor rating made slashing whatever the game throws at you during this period in melee is a cakewalk.

So....If I can gain the best defenses in game this early, what the heck do they plan for late game? Its a loot-shooter after all, right?

EDIT: The actual armor-parts are level-locked, wasn't clear enough on this above. But you can still use the frame early on, the raider-type powerarmors (wtf, rly...) require PL15, apparently the others will go higher. But still. You get all your stuff early on, just need to "grow into it".

Between that dumb trailer and that ridiculous bug, this whole thing is much sadder than ever before. Glad i'm not buying this piece of crap.

That people had to pre-order to get access to.
Which only allows limited gameplay sessions.
A beta so close to release date that what we see is likely what we get.
I take it you are not familiar with it the Well it is just a beta. Because when you call a demo a beta it excuses everything apparently.

Ah, I see. Yknow how it is, text can sometimes be misleading depending on how you end up interpreting it.

The Fallout subreddit has now turned into NMA
This is golden!

So much of what was anticipated turned to be true...

My favourite one:
Whats the target audience...maybe Taki17's reply sums up what I feel about many games nowadays. It's come to a point where I was frustrated with Kingdom Come's combat at start. Because it actually lets you suck -you can't do ANYTHING right when you start out. Name a game where this is the case today.

Well, it looks like the Fallout 3/4 fans are feeling what us Fallout 1/2 fans felt back in the day, hehehe. Only in our case it wasn't Interplay/Black Isle who betrayed us. That's why I'm not even outraged, I had my time for outrage before, and I'm even more likely to accept radical changes because I already had to with Fallout 3. We'll see how this game grows and if it can turn into something entertaining, my hopes being on private servers and mods. But I would strongly recommend, at least for those who are accustomed to F3/4, to stay away from the game as it is being released, give way to MMO players who want to try the fallout universe. As for us F1/2 fans, well, we are beyond feeling "betrayed".

Couldn't you just set up a base near the location, build stairs leading up to the end and then just, yknow, go up?
