Well I don't think that it was the case that the BOS did not know how to build power armor, they lack the industrial infrastructure to manufacture power armor.
Like everyone else outside the Enclave they were reliant on what they could salvage in general.

I mean if Beth wants to play fast and loose, in FO3 the BOS defeated the Enclave and they took their knowledge of PA manufacturer and ability to make it. Hire me Bethesda.

Since 4 established that the BoS took control of the Capital Wasteland, couldn't Betheda simply say that they were able to take control of the Pitt and moved the steel manufacturing machineries to the CW? That would explain how they were able to produce so much stuff and can tie into the whole self-production of T-60 as a post-War PA.

But I guess laziness is the name of the game at Bethesda.

Its just like better Fallout RP. Don’t judge it as a story, but as a template for stories to be made.
I'd rather have a good story in Fallout rather than to rely on making up my own. That's not a point in favor of games known for their stories.

Main reason for the T-60 being pre-war armor in Fallout 4 is that it's the front cover armor for the game and needed to be featured in the pre-release footage. Sadly, that footage was mostly set in pre-war times, so now T-60 is pre-war.
It would have made sense that it'd be a BoS retrofit improvement of existing T-45 suits, but nope, it had to be pre-war.
You can tell that this decision was kinda tacked on, because on one hand the game says it's the latest pre-war armor and clearly the best in terms of stats, and on the other hand it claims that T-51 was the pinnacle of pre-war armor.
Even though the T-60 was one of the first assets created for Fallout 4, according to the wikia.

Reflects the philosophy Bethesda has with the Post war society in Fallout. They are forever scavenging, never progressing. Meanwhile Black Isle and Obsidian had no issue having them develop stuff Post war like the NCR Power Armor, the Duraframe Eyebots, etc.

I figured as much.

I do recall reading about people claiming that the lore isn't contradicted by claiming that T-60 is the latest by being a prototype that never got mass produced but existed during pre-War days and that T-51b was the general pinnacle with the prototypes not counting.

Personally, I think those kinds of claims are hogwash. The simpler answer is that Bethesda did contradict lore due to needing to stick to the 'iconic' T-45d design for their game and that's all there is to it.

These types of people are the worst.

People?

Why would the Platinum version of a strategy guide include the game?
Or was it misrepresented on storefronts?
Unless it was recently updated on their storefront it says on the title, "FALLOUT 76 PLATINUM EDITION PRIMA GUIDE"

It's silly that a guide could cost so much with such a few bonus items.
It includes something digital for the game, some coasters, three blank journals, a case for the guide, a guide with a special cover, some printed art, and a "postcard pack."
Doesn't seem worth 115 bucks to me.

Pretty much this. I actually like the thought of the T-60 begin a post war upgrade that the BoS came up with after the events of FO3. It also boils down to Beth needing a new shiny PA for the front cover.

Well of course. Bethesda and their fans think that Fallout wouldn't be Fallout without a badass set of Power Armor. I used to be mad but now I find it funny seeing Bethesda bumble their way along making a Fallout game and retconing the lore just so they can add cool shit into their game and their fans mental gymnastics and excuses to us cynics.

Mmhmmm. Which is why we now have Construction Power Armor in FO 76 and god knows what else.

Even if it was a game i loved to death, i wouldn't pay 115 bucks for what it seems to be very few things of actual worth.

Seriously? Coasters, blank notebooks and a case for the guide? This is a scam.

Indeed. I remembered spending around $80 for the New Vegas special edition(the last special edition for a game I ever bought.) and that came with cool playing cards that had concept art of characters you came across in the game, poker chips of the casinos, a Platinum Chip replica, DVD of the making of New Vegas and the All Roads prequel comic. Pretty good deal for a little over $80. And I also spent about $20 bucks for the Limited Edition game guide that has cool info and history of the factions in the game and artwork and all that came to be around $100 bucks with tax. Now everything just sucks. I mean, over $120 bucks for notebooks and coasters? Come on.

Less 35 bucks than the one Bethesda is selling for Fallout 76 and it has stuff that sounds way cooler? Bethesda is really becoming greedier than usual.
