As for the vote, I don't understand why Britain joined the EU in the first place, and back then it sucked a whole lot less.
Classical Eurosceptic who thinks that we joined the EU in 1975.
The EU was formed in 1993 after Maastricht. We joined the European Economic Community in 1975.
and back then it sucked a whole lot less.
It didn't suck then, and it doesn't fucking suck now.
Don't come in and make blanket statements about how stuff sucks without doing any research.
The EU has many benefits, including no roaming charges, clean beaches, air and water, other environmental laws, trade deals, the single market, the European Arrest Warrant, trade deals, EU research grants. I could go on.
It will be a massive pain in the arse to renegotiate trade deals.
Why don't you like the EU. Is it the free healthcare and welfare that pisses you off?

It's their choice, but seems to be based more on nationalistic ideas, than logic.

Did you just complain about people not using logic.... and then post a clip of John Oliver?
Do you base all your political leanings on the words of a hacky late night comedy show host?

Well, feel free to debunk his logic, if you think it's wrong. By the way, he is a comedian after all and not a journalist. However, I can not say if his points are true or not. But he did mention once, that his team is trying to do a good research, well as best as they can. So there is that. If you don't like his humor, so be it. That's taste. But if you think he is wrong, show it. I would be interested.
Otherwise, you're just like the people on youtube, which throw noting but insults around, like fuck EU and he is wrong! Without ever going in detail WHY he is wrong ...

Of course it is. Britain is a democracy!

"Paul Joseph Watson is the editor-at-large of Infowars.com"
That's all you really need to know about this guy.

Anyway, I'd like them to stay because I don't want to pay import taxes and have to deal with the customs office whenever I buy order from the UK.
Can't we keep the goods and let the people simply go?
Their constant bickering and complaining is really getting ridiculous and irritating. Like every decade we need one Brexit discussion/poll or something ...

As a British person, I thought you might be interested in my opinion. I'm remain, mostly because of the big science money from Brussels, environment laws and it would be an arse to renegotiate trade deals.
However, I don't think it would be apocalypse now if we leave.

There will be a black Wednesday scenario, with the pound falling. Maybe another George Soros (or just George Soros again) makes billions by short selling. Conservative Leadership contest, probably Boris Johnson wins. Early general election resulting in a Tory landslide (maybe over 400 seats). totally new cabinet, the old cabinet is humiliated and Cameron's career is over and he is remembered in ignominy forevermore.
Michael Gove is the figurehead of the renegotiation, and eventually we would have trade deals with Germany and other countries within the first year or two.
Wait, hold on a sec?, Literally last month you were posting videos on why we should leave, and you appear to have recently changed your profile picture to Nigel Lawson, a politician who, in recent times has been very actively in favor of leave, and you're remain?

I mean, I think we should remain in the EU as well, but I'm genuinely surprised.

I changed my mind after I discovered EU research grants are important for fundamental research.
you appear to have recently changed your profile picture to Nigel Lawson
I disagree with him about the referendum and climate change, but I like him for overseeing the Big Bang.
The effects of Big Bang were dramatic, with London's place as a financial capital decisively strengthened, to the point where it is arguably the world's most important financial centre. Look it up.

I like how of all the answers given to this question in this thread, none of them comes even close to being an argument.

As for the vote, I don't understand why Britain joined the EU in the first place, and back then it sucked a whole lot less.

Oh, Illuminati. Never change.
I'm probably leaning towards staying, though as I've said both options are pretty much terrible.

Classical Eurosceptic who thinks that we joined the EU in 1975.

You're getting straw all over the place.

It will be a massive pain in the arse to renegotiate trade deals.

That argument is on par with "But what will we use for currency?" during the Scottish referendum.

Did you just complain about people not using logic.... and then post a clip of John Oliver?

The argument is valid, regardless of who's presenting it; it's just a shame it had to be John Oliver.

How did the Brits feel about the Scots and their votum?

Jesus Christ don't get me started.

How did the Brits feel about the Scots and their votum?
Not sure about the votum, but I can tell you about my opinion on the vote.
I thought it was a stupid idea; it was obvious they'd be bankrupt, since their economy would rely on north sea oil and oil is about 30$ a barrel.
Also I am a unionist so I hate the idea.
That argument is on par with "But what will we use for currency?" during the Scottish referendum.
That was actually a pretty good question because you weren't getting the Pound.

The way how the Brits feel about the Scots and their Scotxit, is how the rest of us Eurotards feel about the Brits and their Brexit :p.

No, it's a ridiculous thing to concern one's self with.

The way how the Brits feel about the Scots and their Scotxit, is how the rest of us Eurotards feel about the Brits and their Brexit :p.

You realize, of course, that your comparison is not only inaccurate and oversimplistic but also immensely patronizing, yes?

Belgian here. As much as I dislike a fuckton of things about the EU, it'd be absolutely ridiculous to leave it. The reasons given are always short sighted, misinformed, emotional and/or don't weigh up to the loss of membership. The EU costs money, it's ineffective and often downright retarded, but it generates more money than it costs. It has offered our warlike continent great stability as well.

The EU is a handy boogey man for local politicians since it act as a diversion for their own dirty laundry or lack of ability to effectively rule, but only rarely is the EU as fucked up as they claim.

It's ironic that the most overreaching EU legislation proposals came from British politicians... Take the current proposal for new gun laws. It's entirely spearheaded by the British MEPs. But sure, let's blame the EU for all that ails you. At least that's one good thing that would come from a Brexit. The most outrageous proposals would disappear. ;)

Don't be a dick.
No, it's a ridiculous thing to concern one's self with.
So you were not gonna get the pound; what would your currency be?

Which is exactly why I'm afraid of leaving; without someone to keep them in check, they'd basically have free reign.

So you were not gonna get the pound; what would your currency be?

I don't know; the Euro, a Scottish version of the Pound, whatever. The point is that, if independence really was that important, what currency we'd use shouldn't have been as effective of an argument as it was.

Incidentally, I voted 'no' during the Scottish referendum.

Where is this complain you speak of?

Beacuse I was 100% serious to begin with ... I am just saying, Britain is getting this ... Brexit every decade. It's becoming slowly a runing gag ...

Britain has never had ...... a referendum before ... I am just saying.....you not doing research .... is becoming a running gag

The fuck man, don't take everything I say so fucking serious ... it is obvious that a lot mock Britain for their constant nagging on the EU man. Even though they get a fuck ton of priviliges and benefits out of it.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK! AND I WANT IT IN THIS BAG! It simply reached a new level, yes. But this isn't the first time they talk about it.

Seriously, I slowly get the feeling we might be better off without you guys :p.

They should leave because simply stated large governments and steps toward one-world government are too dangerous to society. Turns out, with one large group heading more nested groups, the complex layers of bureaucracy can become corrupt, which endangers the people most of all. I just simply cannot trust the EU--as long as it exists there is truly no sovereignty in the nations it controls. The more that nations are split apart, the less danger they make as individuals...the same reasoning that large nations like the United States can be good, but once again become easily corrupt through each layer of politics... the United States has been viewed as a threat by some, a friend by others, but the bottom line is that our power (I live in the US) is too strong to be held by a single government (no matter what type of government it is) and it is the same thing BUT WORSE in the EU.

Blood has been spilled because of this referendum.

Fuck David Cameron, fuck Nigel Farage, fuck that vampiric creep Osborne and fuck that clown Boris Johnson.

The campaigns by both Remain and Brexit have been disgusting and humiliatingly childish.
