Bethesda announces another E3 press conference

Oh shit that's a good point, they found a bunch of half finished textures for underwater themed weapons in the FO4 files, we'll probably see a 20,000 leagues under the sea rip off from Bethesda next. First ripping off Philip K. Dick for the main plot and possibly Jules Verne for future DLC, after that they'll probably rip off Robert A. Heinlein for a Nazi/Enclave moon base.

Because if all you want out of the game is the old shoot and loot, then there's a good time to be had.

I know someone who played it through, then played it through a second time, and is now eagerly awaiting DLC. He's not an idiot or a gaming noob or a kid, so I assume it must be reasonably entertaining in the areas that it is entertaining.

So, I'm curious but... not really. I've played Oblivion/Skyrim/F3, and I really regret spending money on all three. Based on past experience, Bethesda's open world games now go to the bottom of my wishlist in the "if I get it for <$5 I and have nothing else to play, I might check it out" bin. So, you know, definitely going to check out F4... in 2017... if nothing better comes out before then...

Surprisingly enough, whenever there is a Fallout related post lately, all I see are comments talking about how much better New Vegas is. I can't stand reading anything Fallout related on reddit though, it's literally the same conversations over and over.

Not interested at all in this E3 conference, the Fallout 4 DLC will probably be some dumb shit like a moon base or something to do with an underwater sea monster, I don't know lol. Even if it isn't an announcement of that, I still don't give a shit.

Underwater COULD be interesting, but I doubt Bethesda has the skills or writing to pull it off well.

Cthulhu up in here. We can't forget to add a place like Innsmouth with unwelcoming strangers.
Bethesda will be announcing who they are selling the Fallout license to.

I fully expect some FO4 DLC announcement, probably underwater themed as well as announcements for Doom and such.

Those references are way too intelligent. If there's anything underwater it'll be a Bioshock ripoff.

And as Snake said Cthulhu will be in it, because "lolz Cthulhu"

You're probably right, the moon DLC will probably be an 'Iron Sky' rip off.

It's Bethesda. You have to think "bottom-of-the-barrel" when guessing what they're gonna do. Skyrim and Fallout 4 are incredible games in doing absolutely nothing original.

My guess: The newest DLC sees you getting to pilot Liberty Prime from the inside against various Lovecraft inspired "Kaiju"! With the vast array of new aquatic weapons at your disposal this is sure to please the legions of FPS fans who play this game! Fallout: Atlantic Rim or some such nonsense. ;)

- Maybe they'll add zombies in a DLC! No no they already did that in the base game.
- A DLC with a kraken boss?
- Underground alien city?...oh on wait they said that was under the Mojave.
- A DLC on the moon where you find an alien moon base, finding the alien equivalent of documents and learning that they started The Great War?

The problem is that if you're going underwater, and you don't move noticeably slower than you do on land that's going to feel very unrealistic. So if you're going to do it right, "underwater gameplay" isn't going to be as dynamic or exciting as shooting people in the air. So it's mostly worthwhile for atmosphere. They'd probably have you go underwater for a while, then go into some place with air so they can have shooting galleries. At that point it'll be just like regular Fallout but wetter.

Take for example the Mass Effect 3 DLC that had the underwater section. It was cool, but all it really added was atmosphere since you didn't do much except sink (then talk for a while.)

It's going to have a big-ass R'lyeh-type of underwater Lovecraft city.

If the question is "what would be in an underwater DLC", the answer is obviously "What was in Bioshock?" Because that was a successful game and this is Bethesda. Imagine Bioshock 1 and 2 but with the ironic sense of humor, er, make that all humor removed and all textures turned grey-brown.

I imagine it will be more like the stuff in Point Lookout where you swam down into the submarine, or the crashed ship, or the cave with air in it that you can only get to through an underwater entrance.

The "whole underwater city" idea is probably too big for a DLC.

Bioshock... hmmm.
Children of Atom... hmmmm.

Why can't I shake off the feeling there's gonna be something of a Bioshock Infinite with the Children of Atom, mixed with some Chinese communists. But otherwise, I expect some Doom discussions here - makes sense since it's coming out on May (correct me if I'm wrong); gotta build more hype and since Fallout 4 is what it is (I mean, it ain't its fault of how it was created - blame the creators), Doom's the ointment needed to get BS back to the top (Which is gonna sell - real good. It's Doom, it's got action, it's got gore, it's got metal music... no need to dump down any RPG elements because they weren't there in the first place).

As for TES - way too early. Fallout was released a few months ago, there's no way they'll put out anything TES related for at least 2 years.

The new studio they're gonna set up? Maybe they'll reveal what they will be working on.
Or TESO expansion.
If they're waiting until June to release details or whatever on the first Fallout DLC then it better be an expansion, it should not take 8 months to create a freaking DLC.
So yeah on Bethesda's part I think it'll be about their new studio or TESO.

So, completely unrelated to the original topic but Todd Howard's going to win a lifetime achievement award from GDC for his work on the TES and Fallout series.
