BoarderSimsCraft of Duty?

Well then go to those forums, because here it isn't a non issue.

It really is a nonissue here too. (In my opinion.)
Well then you really need to go check out that other thread where the guy was spamming 5 posts of gibberish in a row the other day.

But that's spamming gibberish which is a completely different issue. Which is why I'll say for the third time, as long as the posts are actually contributing to the conversations. And I'll add a clarification this time to say contribute meaningfully.

I'm sure he thought it was a meaningful contribution. No one else did though.

He was individually responding to everyone with individual posts.

Sorry bud, you are a newbie, you don't get to make up the rules. Is it so hard to use the edit button?

You have been told before, you and all the other newbies that double and triple post. That you choose to ignore it because "It's a non issue imo" doesn't make the previous warnings disappear. Also it's a pretty simple concept to grasp, no idea why you feel you have to be stubborn about such a simple instruction.

Respect, has to be earned.
People always say that but it doesn't have to be. People can choose to be respectful and give/show respect regardless of how the other person/people act. Right?
Sure, most people don't, but there's nothing stopping them.

Well, I feel if you want that people take what you say SERIOUS on NMA, than well, yeah you should earn your respect. I am beeing a bit factious here mind you, because I want to challange this notions.

See, NMA is a rather old community, and it is a small community. People very often think that NMA isn't friendly, which is true (we are actually proud about that), but that's because it is like a small village. Just beacuse you moved in (registered to the forum) doesn't mean shit to any of us. You have to stay a while (and listen), get to know the posters, engage in discussions, contribute something.

Why should anyone get respect for posting single lines for 2-3 days just to dissapear again? If such a new person comes in, saying that he loves Fallout 4, maybe even creating a new topic, at least 5 people will most probably challange him on that. Unless, he is somewhat respected, where you know what he/she actually means, when he or she is saying, they love Fallout 4. If you get what I am trying to say. Most of the time those people are also specific. Telling others what they love. Like the shooting, the looting, some character, someone here has a huge crush and fetish on codsworth, which absolutely awesome. This community has a lot of room for diversity. But you can't expect any of it in the first moment you show up.

I never understood this, people have to respect each other. I say bullshit. It has to be earned. Not this manly/military style stuff. No. But when you get into something, you're a blank slate. YOU have to get out and get to know people, tell them something about you, get them to like you. Not the other way.

Except you have been told before to not double post repeatedly.
Except I haven't been personally told by anybody here not to double post.

Neither has someone told you that you should not be a troll, throwing insults around, starting flame wars, talking crap about other forums (flame baiting). And yet - I guess - you're not doing it either.

Dude, the edit function is right there in the lower left corner. What do posters assume the edit function is there for? For the aesthetic of the forum? I can understand if someone is missing it. But outright refusing to use it ... that's like spitting in public even though someone told you not to.

No, I actually haven't been personally told before. Though I've seen other people called out for it and I do know it's in the rules (as is no flaming, no responding to trolls, no backbench moderating, and also no going off topic which I'll admit going off topic here in this thread. And these being stuff I see a lot of you guys break constantly here.)

So you are aware of the rule and have seen others being called out on it... yet you insist on doing it.... Can't you just, you know, follow the rules?

Backseat moderating has become a necesity recently seeing how most moderators rarely connect nowadays.

But why should you or would you want to be disrespectful to people? If you're more respectful towards people then people will generally be more respectful and receptive to you. If you're disrespectful to people because they're not showing you any respect or they're hateful towards you or whatever, then all that generally does is just lead to more bickering and eventually more insults thrown around. There are of course exceptions to those things.

Though I will say earned respect is probably more meaningful and worth more.

I was just pointing out that what Walpknut said there was a lie or at the very least a completely wrong assumption on his part with no evidence to back it up.

And the edit function is there to edit your posts for any multitude of reasons.

It's still against the rules though, right?

This, he has been warned now, what ever if he believes in it or not. I swear if I see that again, I am going to report it.
And I am wholeheartedly behind you on reporting post to the mods you see as breaking the rules. My own posts included. It's what the report button is there for.
If a Mod/Admin wants to pop me for it, then I'll welcome it.

I am now fully convinced his inability to not double post has to be some special condition of his...

Cmon guys it is really hard to know how to reply to two people in one post.

I mean what is the problem with double posting anyway? It's no big deal.

:look:

'facepalm'

Honestly, this is pathetic. I understand banning and reporting obvious trolls who are insulting but this? This is just fanaticism on the rules part, on something that while apparently is damaging and annoying to some, really shouldn't be that bad!
