BoarderSimsCraft of Duty?

He has been told before to not double post and he insists on doing it. Even after being told not to do it again in here he insists, I think that more than warrants being called out on, it's not like he just double posted once, he does it constantly.

OHHH!!! DOUBLE POSTING!!!

Sorry, I thought you were talking about making long columns.

Writting multiple message one after the other with no breaks or anyone else posting in between.

Hmm... I can see why it's annoying but I also don't see much of a massive problem. I suppose editing is easier, however there is too high a chance of someone quoting what you said while editing meaning that the response is without the edit, which makes the response incomplete and that leads to another set of problems.

This is grade school level internet 101 folks. It isn't a massive problem. It is annoying as fuck though. About as annoying as 10 identical threads about "Y U NO LIKE FALLOUT 4?"

Both ways are annoying as fuck, one way to some people who read it, another to the person writing and people replying.

You're missing the point. It's not so much annoying as more the inability of him to see why he should not do it, despite the fact that people mentioned it several times to him by now, while he still insinst on it.

I MEAN I COULD ALSO DECIDE TO WRITE LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME, NO HARM DONE RIGHT? WHAT? YOU FIND IT ANNOYING? BAD FOR YOU! I DONT SEE A MASSIVE PROBLEM WITH IT. JUST GET USED TO IT I GUESS. I SUPPOSE READING IS EASIER IF IT'S NOT ALL IN CAPS, HOWEVER THERE IS TO HIGH A CHANCE SOMEONE QUOTING WHAT I SAID WOULD NOT READ IT, SO WITH CAPS THEY CAN NOT MISS IT, THIS MAKES IT EASIER. OTHERWISE IT COULD LEAD TO ANOTHE SET OF PROBLEMS.

There's a lot of people who just post things to argue for the sake of arguing as though that is a good use of their time. They will argue the sky is green if you let them.

I think the double posting is annoying, I mean the edit function is right there. Nobody seems to be able to get to this person to stop them from doing that though. It gets annoying when they keep posting replys to quotes in multiple seperated posts and expect it to be okay because other forums are okay with it.

Though if you really want to be a stickler about the rules then what you're supposed to do is just use the report button without calling out and commenting on the offending posts and let the mods take care of it.

And you guys are saying that double posting is annoying but what exactly about it do you find annoying? What specifically?

Dude, I am not going to discuss the necessity for forum etiquette, because I don't feel that this is hard to understand. Just avoid it. That's neither difficult nor to much to ask for!

But like I said it's such a nonissue for most forums. To me it just seems like one of those rules that have just become standard that people just accept without really every thinking about it. And so it just gets automatically put into forum rules.

I'm sure it was probably very useful for forums that had people wanting to inflate their post counts to obtain a new rank/usergroup.

Oh, so rules are a non-issue for you? I guess one could say you...

Live on the edge.

I'm sorry

Though really, it kinda happens all over the site about people selectively following the rules. Not specifically double posting, but if you check out the post history of some of the users calling me out you'll find a lot of instances of them calling people trolls, flaming/baiting, throwing out insults, going off topic, calling out posts/backbench modding... all of which are explicitly stated as being against the rules.

I'm sorry
Eh, that's fine.

5 posts in a row. What is annoying about it? Your opinion isn't important enough to warrant 5 separate posts one after another. The worst part is you clearly know how to use the quote and edit function but you just don't give a fuck.

"And you guys are saying that not flushing the toilet after taking a big dumb is annoying but what exactly about it do you find annoying? What specifically?"

I hope this analogy helps you ... hope is the only thing left in this conversation anyway at this point ... because this, this is what you're basically asking, and ... I find it hard to actually find an adequate answer. You could be also asking, why you don't fart in to peoples direction, why you don't light up a smoke next to someone who's eating, or blurping into someones face, scratching your crotch before shaking hands. It's simply etiquette.

Such things can happen, even to the best of us, and it's ok. Once. But if it happens regularly, you're either a toddler, or elderly and senile.

Which of those categories do you fall in to? Because it is literaly the only excuse that I would accept for a decent human beeing.

Who posted 5 posts in a row on that page? Because I certainly didn't.

So it's annoying because you don't value my opinion/find my opinion unimportant? That's all?

My page settings are set differently than yours, but you definitely posted 5 times in a row in that thread. Look closely if you care.

Yes it is annoying that we have to have this debate instead of you saying - like every other person that was once a newb here - Alright assholes I'll watch what I post.

Instead of "BUT you guys don't follow the rules...Why is this annoying you? Why are the rules that way? Why does it matter? WHY?"

Umm... so the problem here is that he isn't following the rules? Shouldn't we note that we must first realize if the thing is a non-issue and argue there, instead of just saying that he doubts the rules and that is sinful? I don't know, I just don't find this very... hmm... fair perhaps?
