Can we honestly say Fallout 4 is better than Fallout 3?

Actually i disagree because dialogs, quests, player freedom and leveling system are all worse than Fallout 3. Only thing Fallout 4 is better at is combat gameplay and that's it.

I can't believe i'm defending F3......
Agree with you. Fallout 3 was better than Fallout 4 except in the gun-play. Atmosphere, dialogue, quests, characters, and even the overall story - Fallout 3 did it better, much better in fact. Actually that is all I was hoping for with FO4: I wanted more of the same because I certainly didn't think they'd match Obsidian's writing with New Vegas and Fallout 3 was acceptable enough coming from Bethesda. After seeing Skyrim's total lack of depth and role-playing, I hoped FO4 would be at least the same level as Fallout 3 but sadly it is not.

I am baffled by people that think Fallout 4 is "like Fallout 3, but better" because it absolutely is NOT better.

And so it is that the end of days has arrived, when NMA began defending Fallout 3 and recognized it as "not the worst Fallout game" and "a better game than Fallout 4."

Tis a sad but in the end truthful tale. Damn it, why does Bethesda need to make something so bad even Fallout 3 looks good? That goes against my principals!

This is why you don't say [insert name here] is the worse game in the franchise before you've actually seen the last game in the entire series roll out. It's always possible to screw up right before the finish line, and also in the next race, and also in the next sports season over. Again and again.

And even then, someone can still buy the IP, remake it and make it even worse. Never say never when it comes to intellectual properties - there's always lower it can go.

It's too bad that's all they seem to have spent time on. I mean look at all the stuff you can do to the faces like the little adjustable details.

Is it really? The idea itself is taken from the Sims 4, and the framework for making unique shapes and details with faces were already in Skyrim and its associated mods. It shouldn't have made it impossible for them to fit in halfway decent writing and actual quests into an RPG.

And the experience itself was made me wince and cringe time to time, due to the annoying comments the spouse keeps making. Still, it's something they did right. One's better than none, they say?

In Skyrim? Vanilla Skyrim had a couple sliders and that's it. I had to download a mod just for extensive features so my characters like the dark elves I tried to make didn't look the same with different hair and slightly different toned skin. I still prefer sliders to Fallout 4's grab things creator that's super unintuitive for me atleast.

Skyrim had the base for Fallout 4 to build on, with the creator. Point is, I don't think it really should've impeded their ability to make a Fallout game. Unlike settlements, it doesn't really seem like something that would take up much of the team or too much resources.

Also, the grab things creator? It was annoying in the Sims 4 too. You didn't know which way to pull what was going to do what. It's a little better in Fallout 4, but still.

That said, loved the character creator, shame about the everything else.

They should've worked off the detailed slider creater from Oblivion which had way more options.

Yeah the grab things creator in my honest opinion sucked ass since I spent an hour trying to figure out what option did what like clicking the nose then taping a key that doesn't tell me what part of the nose I'm messing with. I took that long because I couldn't stand that punchable-big-ass-nosed-retarded-looking face of the soul survivor male.

Fallout 4's character creator is the single redeemable part of the game. The rest? Well, put simply, it takes less mods to make New Vegas enjoyable than Fallout 4. And if I was told to go isolate myself in a bunker for a year and told to that I could only pick two Fallout games to go with it, well, 4 is far off that list. If I could transplant the Fallout 4 character creator into New Vegas, I could just forget the rest of Fallout 4 exists.

Hey, that's a nice Vault experiment. Force every Vault dweller to play Fallout 4 and test its effects on the dwellers' intelligence.

Does the game acknowledge that the edit screen is a mirror? If you make scars that form a certain word, does it end up being written in reverse?

In a place where ghouls can survive without food, water, and keep their sanity for 200 years without any source of entertainment? Oh no no no no.

"not interested in discussing how realistic things are in an alternate universe post-apoc game w/ talking mutants and ghouls"

- Pete Hines, a guy that doesn't have the attention span for dialogue.

I really am surprised the goddamn PR guy is the one to say that.

Now it's time to wait for the day when someone asks Todd if he's creating these games for the fans and with him responding along the lines of "Hell no I'm just doin' this for the money man, I like wiping my ass with those $100's".
