There's honestly a lot of disinformation about the game that needs to be confronted, shitty runs or not:
* Johnny Silverhand was always the central focus of the plot because the entirety of the story is based around him being in your brain. Keanu was cast later.
* There's actually a pretty large variety of tasks you can do other than killing people: espionage, sabotage, street racing, and investigation. You just need to actually find these gigs and they're much less common than murder missions.
* The people talking about no-trans representation missed the fact there's actually several characters (one of which was a second favorite character). Ditto gay romances.
* There actually is a lot worth exploring but the game doesn't actually make it immediately clear where the interesting bits are or that there even are. I've seen some pretty fascinating places like solar power plants, scuzzy sex hotels, drive through theaters, model fashion shows, and faux Hollywoods.
* Blue dialogue choices actually can change the response of people so they're not just, "Tell me more" that you do all of them. You also get lots and LOTS of skill checks but need high stats and there's also ones that are affected by what Side Gigs you've done.
