also, it seem that you can totally disable HUD. Yay for no augmentation run and realism!
:D
Only if you also have the option to dissable the highlighting of items/terminals/computers/NPCs and the like. I mean ... it was a tad anoying in Deus Ex:HR. I can't remember right now if the game had the option to dissable that. But really, I mean it wasn't like the game had THAT many items to interact with ... what's up with gamers these days where they require big arrows, dots, and GPS to highlights the important stuff in corridor shooters that you can't miss 90% of the time anyway. Sometimes I feel like some developers must think that their playerbase is full of mentally challanged players or something ...

i'm gonna say, something is little bit wrong there. its might be the control scheme or the way enviroment react to player, but the most ugly thing is that there is no longer seamless cinematic like they advertised in 2015. its just another tech downgrade that mostlikey came from console disablity to keep pace. the second one, is the games clearly a console port for pc version. this is disgrace, since the original were great because being a pc oriented and i have to say that i would wait for not to pre-order the games
Hopefully it's still as good as Human Revolution. That's all I'm hoping for.

I'm optimistic because I really don't think any single developer can screw up a franchise even half as bad as Bethesda screwed up Fallout 4, so now even if Mankind Divided sucks I will still probably enjoy it.

Their developers are usually decent writers (confused Eidos Montreal with Ubisoft for some reason). If they can recreate their magic with Human Revolution, I'd say that would be praiseworthy. I'm still not interested in the "Augment Your Pre-Order" bollocks though.

Despite all the hate Ubisoft gets, their developers are usually decent writers. If they can recreate their magic with Human Revolution, I'd say that would be praiseworthy. I'm still not interested in the "Augment Your Pre-Order" bollocks though.
Just to clarify, I believe it's Eidos Montreal that's making the new Deus Ex games, not Ubisoft and to their credit, they took down that "Augment Your Pre-Order" bollocks a while ago (and I suspect that it was their publisher, Square Enix that made them push for aforesaid bollocks in the first place).

I'm optimistic about this game as long it's more Human Revolution with actual clear improvements and having more direct links to Deus Ex 1.

Oops. You're right. I'm not sure where I got Ubisoft from. I corrected it in my original post.

I too am hoping for more Human Revolution. Based on the gameplay I have seen I think it will be decent at least. It has a huge size compared to Human Revolution (like 55 GB) and the recommended specs are fairly high. It looks beautiful though. I love how the developers of Human Revolution and Mankind Divided made the environments look like people are actually living and working there - the little things like papers strewn everywhere or NPCs interacting. They make beautiful, immersive environments.

You can disable it but as Ash from the Codex said, turning off highlighted items makes it a pain in the ass to find items with the clutter lying around and the game wasn't made with that in mind it seems. I tried it with highlighting turned off but I was wasting my time looking for candy bars an other consumables instead of continuing with the game.

More like Deus Ex would be preferable as I found the first game superior to Human Revolution as HR felt like a modern take on Deus Ex but lost a lot of charm the first one had. Not to mention those silly cutscene takedowns instead of melee weapons like the original.

I agree but let's be honest - that's like asking Bethesda to make a top down isometric turn-based Fallout RPG. It's not happening.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution managed to have enough going for it that I enjoyed it tremendously. If they dumb it down more though then it will end up a generic boring shooter. So I'm just hoping for more of the same.

On consloe the Directors Cut fixed a lot of the criticisms I had in HR, the redesigned boss battles was a most needed improvement and fit better into the game style. From what ive seen of DX: MD they uped the amount of nonlethal options ranged and close quarters. I am interested in how they handle take downs and those blasted energy bars.

Let's hope this time devs included everything they wanted unlike with Human Revolution case (don't take my word, complete Director's Cut with developer commentary, it's quite interesting. And also sad).

Then they need to go back through the first Deus Ex and see what made it so good, use its strengths to create another good Deus Ex. In my opinion HR was already dumbed down. I mean how the hell do you go from having these advanced augs to retain some peoples looks to the augmentations that were in the first game? I mean look at agent Navarre and Gunther Hermann, do you happen to see anyone in HR that look like that? It makes you question how they go from things like human like cybernetic eyes to terminator eyes for example. I feel like this game is going to be even more dumbed down then Human Revolution. I mean hey it was an alright game but that's it just an alright modern take on the original Deus Ex game.

For HR you had all these different vents everywhere and kept getting XP for simply going through them, they also gave you shit tons of XP for the tons of bonuses you would get for going non-lethal making lethal look like a joke, the hacking was alright the first few times but became a tiresome chore wasting my time after a while, and you had crazy augs like the broken invisibility that made stealth even easier.

I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong I'm just pointing out the reason why I think HR is dumbed down and why MD will likely even be worse.

Yea I agree that's why I'm waiting until well after release to consider buying it. But of all the games coming out now, this is one of few that I am optimistic about. It's still probably going to be a hundred times better written and smarter than 90% of other AAA games, and it's almost certainly going to blow Fallout 4 out of the water as an RPG (even though it's not necessarily a dedicated RPG). So in this sea of garbage that is the modern gaming industry, Deus Ex is hopefully going to deliver an enjoyable experience that is not totally lame and stupid and cringe-inducing.

Human Revolution was a good FPS with good writing, fun gameplay, and some decent RPG-feel to it and that is all I'm hoping for at this point. That would be better than turning it into a crafting-based MMO with $25 of Crafting DLC, for example.

Implying original game didn't have this. You always get XP for your exploration autism.
Implying press one button and have a time limit while reading emails is better and realistic.
Implying light step+invisibility is not broken and a joke.

I know it's a bad argument but I just wanna say that Human Revolution takes original game quite seriously and holds if not true then very close to it.

And of all things Deus Ex did right, Anna and Gunther looks too ridiculous and how I put it politely... Old fasioned for 2052. They should be perfected like Terminators.

P.S. Implying leveled to the max Low-tech+Dragon Tooth+a pack of implants is not overpowered and ridiculously broken. And you don't even have to crawl to the enemy.

Every game has it's own quirks and holes. Don't pretend it's not the case for Deus Ex.

Damn, that sounds awful. I mean I did not expect a perfect game, but I hoped the storyline would be good.

Instead they cut the game in two and are going to release the rest in DLCs or more likely next game.

I guess I will wait for GOTY and a discount. A shame Deus ex HR was a good game.

Fuck those stupid, greedy companies. They will not be getting my money anytime soon.

Dunno, this half decade is full of shitty titles. AAA one. this will be the last time i buy something from AAA company

i mean come one, why just only two hubs??? where is the promise like you told us in director cut? 4 area and 2 hub which you can visit twice?
