Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - 101 Trailer

I havent beaten it, Im not even very far in but I have beem playing with no hud or radar or highlights..and I have been enjoying it.

Some bugs so far for me but nothing too earth shattering..havent really gotten too far into the story so cant speak for that yet. Game looks nice, wouldnt call it a COD clone even without the yellow filter. It still has its own atmosphere, its own thing going on.

Enviroment design is...alright but...overly simple? Overly Deus Ex.... IDK maybe I just have the nostalga glasses on but I feel DE1 and even Invisible war had better designed ways to attack missions..here it just seems either front door or vents..vents...EVERYWHERE. No back door or roof access yet..no swimming or any off the cuff ways ti attack missions...just vents for stealth and doors for rambo, some balconies but more for flavor missions or loot or access codes.

Granted I havent played the first two in over 10 years so I could be wrong there.

Voice acting is...bad..so far. No high hopes for it. Shooting is nice, setting up traps if you are going for a kill run is still fun..as is the stun gun for no kill runs.

All in all..so farvI would say it was worth my dough. Its not earth shattering, just as how I didnt find HR amazing. Good, but not RPG of the year good. I find MD pretty much the same.

If you are a sucker for that world like I am, and got the spare cash its a decent enough game.

So apparently reviewers were not made aware of the microtransactions as review copies did not have the in-game store or something.

I really don't care how good this game is, I'm not buying this until it's about $10 on sale and I might even never buy it. This shite needs to go away and it won't until people stop paying for it. They nearly turned Deus Ex into Dead Space 3 with this garbage.

People say the story is just average anyway, so you're probably not missing that much, depending on what you value more - gameplay in the game seems to be pretty good.

He really summed up my stance on it. I liked Human Revolution and was looking forward to this game, but no matter how good it is I will not support this kind of crap. It's the same as with everything else horrible in the world. People look the other way or try to justify shit so that they don't have to let it bother them. This isn't nearly as bad as starving populations, racism or sexism, but it's the same thought processes that enable it. Kind of ironic for a game that means to deal with social injustices.

Square Enix really needs to stop meddling with games they publish, they probably were the ones who suggested the pre-order bollocks and they're probably the one who instructed Eidos Montreal to implement single player micro-transactions, exclusive Augs that can only be bought via DLC (this is a low) and cutting out content to make into DLC (which they have a history of doing though this does not absolve Eidos Montreal). Thanks to micro-transaction crap, I doubt I'll ever buy Mankind Divided until a complete edition shows up heavily discounted.

As for the story from what I have heard, it sounds rather average and inconclusive along with signs that Eidos Montreal will be making another game in the future with save-file transfer to conclude it all(feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Some reviewers have noted that the way the issues and themes are approached in the story are not that well done though not awful.

I guess I'll replay the classic Deus Ex again.

Maybe they'll do a konami/bethesda and turn Deus Ex into a surv-zombie-crafting-horror-them-up. Wouldn't even surprise me based on the sales success of Fallout 4. They'll see that and go "ok lets add minecraft to Deus Ex."

They've been trying to turn Deus Ex into a cash cow for a while now, it's only a matter of time before they do to Deus Ex what Bethesda did to Fallout and what konami did to Metal Gear.

Isn't there crafting in Mankind Divided though? I know one of the DLC augments is to allow Jensen to turn items into crafting materials.

By the time they get done with these series, Adam Jensen will be building settlements and answering calls for "another settlement needs our help" and the microtransactions will be to make the recurring quests go away.

At least its still cheaper than the $110 Bethesda is charging for Fallout 4.

Nah, he'll be building his own augmentations for the next game but schematics will cost real world money to purchase.
But yeah, it'll still be cheaper than Bethesda's game.

All I can say is, the pay to play shit, I havent been hit over the head with it, didnt even really know its there tbh.

Still cant comment on the story as I am only on the second mission.

The game is alright. Its not an unmitigated disaster nor does it feel like a cheap cash grab if that maked any difference

Oh and BTW, this is what you get in the credits, a meshugga-riffed rock thing instead of proper closure. Composer should hang himself on 9th guitar string.

Dunno, but this is still superb though.

Regarding the story...its decent. The presentation is superb, though the writing is very flawed compared to the previous series

Not sure if Jim's info is verifiable (he even admits that the source has to remain anonymous) but it does make sense considering Square Enix's behavior and lack of sense at times. It does lend credence to the idea that Mankind Divided suffered a lot of executive meddling leading to the final product (which is decent from what I can tell but has a lot of bad ideas implemented in it).

Wait, there is a story DLC already? A month after the game's been released? If that doesn't scream "cut content" then I don't know what does. Either that or the DLC will be extremely small and thrown together at last minute.

Wait wait wait.... They locked off a fucking MISSION for pre-orders? That's fucked up. I mean, imagine that future if you will; In order to make sure people buy the game before reviews and shit come out and before there are honest gameplay videos and user reviews and a lowered price they lock off content so that if you want the 'complete experience' then you better put in your pre-order.
