Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - 101 Trailer

Eidos, I am disappoint.

This game has single-use microtransactions and the most infamous DRM in gaming and almost had the worst pre-order campaign in gaming history. I don't care how good the game is if your publisher and the business people are making EA games look reasonable by comparison.

Also, they removed the yellow/gold color filter which was beautiful in Human Revolution and set this game apart from the other generic AAA crap that all looks exactly the same.

The next Deus Ex game will try to microcharge gamers for playing the game a second time at this rate. It will be a single-use videogame.

Seems like low end pc are not allowed to the party. The game doesn't work well on them. I mean at all. Not only stuttering and noisy image but also crashing unexpectedly.

In a few months, AAA games will be charging us for playing the game more than once. Single-use videogames are coming.

Also, I just saw more footage and this game looks so generic without the color filter. If you take away the HUD you can't tell if you're playing Deus Ex, Call of Duty, Battlefield, or whatever other generic AAA game. So this game looks totally generic, has single-use microtransactions, the worst pre-order campaign in history, and according to some people is apparently cut in half to be resold as part of the Season Pass. As an enormous fan of Human Revolution, I think I'll pass on this one until it costs $10 and then still probably not play it considering it also has the most infamous DRM in gaming.

This game has made EA look reasonable.

And now Torment has a publisher? Wasn't the whole point of InXile to not have publishers to avoid this garbage? I'm crossing my fingers for Red Boots DLC in Torment! Maybe it will even have microtransactions and denuvo!! Want more dialogue options? Get out your ****ing wallet and purchase some more in-game dialogue lines!

And let's not forget online DRM for single-player games! You're just not getting the full Deus Ex experience if you don't have a stable internet connection! Maybe they can shoehorn multiplayer into Torment like they did with Mankind Divided! Nothing is better than a crappy multiplayer for a single-player game!

What a bunch of garbage. Even if Deus Ex Mankind Divided is a good game I've lost all interest until it's extremely cheap on sale. The full game costs $90 AND has microtransactions and denuvo DRM.

I liked Adam Jensen in Human Revolution, even if he was very clichéd. But from what I've seen of this game, they're trying way too hard making him "cool" and "badass". His beard is ridiculous.

to be honest, i really like his beard. He is like the only lone wolf character in dystopia setting that has a beard. JC Denton and agent 47 doesnt even have beard

Isn't the age of digital gaming a blessing to everyone?

So people who thought a game was shit and want to let others know it but want to get their refund back wouldn't be able to post a review. I mean, you can only apply for a refund of a game if you've played for less than 2 hours and this fucker basically want people who don't like the game to not be able to let others know about it if they decide to get a refund. Brilliant idea.

As the game itself it's augmented Human Revolution as it's finest. The graphics looks very good, work on materials and lighting is fascinating but the animations and characters' models are still poor. And it's not a technical masterpiece like DX1 nor it's an optimized game like HR. It's Invisible War 2016. Or worse. Yes, the port is poorly done and console versions still can't maintain 30 fps in crowded areas or in action.

On the one hand, microtransactions in a full-priced single-player offline game is an atrocity and something I never thought I'd see.

On the other hand, if someone is stupid enough to fall for it they only have themselves to blame and probably shouldn't have any money to begin with.

To be honest I never expected to see microtransactions, that's EA low even though after the Codex - inXile bullshit I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Money grubbing bastards, welcome to Nu Deus Ex everyone to your left is the overpriced season pass featuring one time use items with two DLCs disjointed from the game and to the right side here you can see all the i-game microtransactions which you can spend real money on(fucking LOL).

I'm not sure how the original game's port was but the Director's Cut ran like shit sometimes unless there's a tweak for that. Piss filter also hurt my eyes.

As the little banner says on the site: "rpg codex > raise $5k for Torment 2, get black-listed by the publisher"
Which pretty much happened
..but k.

That's usually what happens when you break embargo. And I can't see anywhere in the Kickstarter rewards that it says if you collectively donate a certain amount, you are guaranteed an interview with the developers. Besides, what does this even have to do with money-making schemes in AAA games?

Codex never agreed to an embargo as far as I recall and neither did they get "blacklisted", their interview got cancelled. That's all that happened. Unless some new details has shown up I'd suggest not putting on the tinfoil hat and rubbing it to a conspiracy theory.

Yeah that embargo thing might be bullshit, I just read that a few times and honestly don't care enough to research it in greater detail. In the end, I'm sure the Codexers feel cheated, but it's certainly not the end of the world and it definitely does not affect the game in any way. inXile haven't cheated anyone on money, they haven't secretly made a console-port and are trying to hide it from the Great and Holy Codex, and they certainly aren't running some shady money-making scheme (well, obviously developing games is a money-making scheme, but you know what I mean).

So this is essentially a pay-to-win singleplayer game lol. I can see it coming. The next Deus Ex will be a single-use game. You will have to pay the full price again if you want to play the game a second time.

Then after that, the next Deus Ex will make you pay to load saves in the same playthrough.

The game could be really good, but there's too many red flags on this one. Maybe when its $10 on sale years from now I will consider buying it, and then still reject it becuase I hate looking at microtransaction screens.

They're kinda dragging this franchise into the toilet regardless of how good the actual game is.

I really would like to hear the story from both the Codex and Inxile before I make a judgment on that case. Perhaps Inxile is on the level or perhaps the Codex really have some justified grievances but these days I am a bit more skeptical of the developers, even if it is a company that listens a lot more to its fan base and focuses on games for a niche audience.
As was just brought up, they are into this to make money in the end and such a goal does make people go back sometimes on any 'inconvenience' such as earlier made promises during a Kickstarter.
Plus I am also a bit skeptical of Inxile after all the cutting they did in Wasteland 2. (locations, location parts, a whole faction, a gameplay mechanic)

Anyway I am also not really happy about the microtransactions and the one time downloadable content in Mankind Divided.
Yes I know it is an optional thing but it still reeks of moving single player games towards such a form that it becomes more encouraged to start paying for features and elements that used to be free. Oh they would still be in the base game of course as otherwise the publisher would drive customers away but things like for example weapons and supplies would be more difficult to come by during regular gameplay, forcing a slower more grinding experience onto gamers.
This would be especially frustrating for gamers who only have so much time every day to play a game.

And wasn't it already mentioned before by a publisher to make people pay again if they wanted to play a game over again?

There was some time talk back about some publishers wanting to make it so that if gamers sold a game second hand that the new owner still had to pay additional costs to the publisher to be able to unlock the game for their machine.
Well the second hand market is slowly disappearing so that thorn in the publisher's side is almost gone so I really would not be surprised if something like playing a game you have finished once over again will come with a fee, all to encourage you more to start buying new games.

Remember the days when you could go out and rent a videogame for like $5 and play the whole thing and return it a few days or a week later?

Pepperidge Farm remembers. Now it costs $5 just for a single-use ammo pack or health pack or whatever is in these stupid microtransaction stores.
