The fact that England was robbed of a goal by the ref wasn't good, he clearly judged wrongly when he cried foul on that 2-1 goal that England had..

There`s a bit of a confusion there, I`ll explain:

- one can`t touch, i repeat, touch the goalkeeper on the small area, the smaller zone in front of the goalie. Two english did that;
- one can`t support himself on another player, if it`s from another team, while trying to give a header. One english player did that to Ricardo.

So it was foul, clearly, if anyone has any doubt just see the replay.

The country is insane with celebrations, i never saw nothing like it. And i didn`t saw most of the game, what a day, and what a night...

Go celebrate Role-Player and Krakow, everyone deserves it tonight, the english that live in my city are also drinking and singing in the streets
:)

I did my military service together with Mattias Jonson.

Yes, you can kiss my Gauss Pistol now. ;)

(On a Fallout board that's what us Swedes would call an "I met Laddie".)

Portugal-England was a great game. And we're gonna get so thrashed by the Dutch.

Psst, Kharn... 2-2? ;)

Uhm, dude, Chechnya is Tsjetjenië, Tsjechië would be the Czech Republic.
Damnit, I knew there was something wrong with that. I was getting tired of typing Czech Republic constantly. 'S long.
Portugal-England was the best game so far though.
Then you've missed Czech Republic-netherlands. This game was great, but the football that was played wasn't. That was different in the Czech Republic-Netherlands game.

Heh i Allmost felt sorry for becham when he missed, but then i remembered that i wanted the english too lose.
Just so the hooligans would be disseapointed.
Portugal was best though.

Cruel, so cruel.
But very apt.

The "Zinadine Zidane's" is a nice touch

Was not, 't was too uneventful for too long.

and even Portugal-Spain was prettier

Don't be too sure about the Dutch trashing the Swedes.

I really think it's a shame we're up against Sweden, they've played great games and are just overly nice and likeable. I'd rather be up against some team I hate, like Italy or England.

Yes it was the greatest. If you didn't watch the first two halves. :)

Probably because of the English' boring gameplay.

I´ve seen the fouls again and again now, together with pretty much all the game, except for a bit. The referee did well, i really don`t have any doubt, just see the replay from the behind the goalkeeper angle.
Even so i knew the tabloids would say the english were robbed, that`s normal, i giggled a bit. Irelands prime minister saying the same was a laugh, what one does to try to be president of the European Comission :)

But SkyNews advocating the fair goal theory, and giving the referee e-mail, with the words "good hunting" was despicable, shows how much the bullying and hooligan culture is deep rooted in all sides of the british social tissue, even in the so called "serious" media.

Now i just hope for three more great games like the one yesterday, i`m enjoying the tournament, even if many teams are really below expectations in the quality of play.

I didn't know they did that :? That sucks. Its terrible sportsmanship, if not flat out unethical.

I can’t believe the British tabloids
Who can honestly say that this is not a foul?

And in other news, they kicked Menjuto Gonzalez out of the tournament as a referee. Menjuto Gonzalez was the man who missed Totti spitting, have a yellow card to Totti for trying to break someone's knee, gave red to Heitinga (Czech Republic v. Netherlands) because he mistook a schwalbe by Nedved for a challenge by Heitinga and he failed to give a penalty to Van Nistelrooy when he was dragged to the ground.

Sadly, I can't find a link for this anywhere outside of the Dutch press, so this could be false.

Greece-France: 1-0

I almost can't believe it!
Greece knocked out France of the championship!
Yes, yes this was what i hoped for! :D

Tchyeah

This changes everrything because, like it or not, Greece is a weaker team than France. Certainly gives Czech and Denmark a better shot.

Even if Greece does not make it to the finals vs. Portugal, the greek team achieved much in this competition, regardless. Congrats to them.

You're asuming Portugal will make it to the finals

There is indeed a chance

A slim one.

After having seen the other teams in action, and Portugal's growth into a more cohesive team, i'm positive they'll make it to the finals.

We can bet, if you want :P

And Holland won over Sweden, in a series of penalties. This makes it so Holland will confront Portugal.

Next up: Denmark - Czech Republic. I'm betting on the Czechs.

Another damned penalty shoot-out...I always burst with anxiety at them even when the teams do not interest me at all. It was a close victory for Holland...

And, I too am betting that the Czechs will win, even though I'd rather see Greece go against Denmark at the semifinals. Then again, we did beat France (contrary to the "Greece 0-4 France" predictions), so I guess the players have probably nothing to fear at the moment and any opponent is the same...
