Hopefully not, since if something as dramatic as that will happen, I'll get at least some kind of severe mental trauma or a cronic depression.

i know this mod is all about restoring, but i wrote a mod for this mod that gives a skill book for each skill in the game,i recently updated the art(planned to in the beginning) find it at nirran.com

not trying to get killap to add, just anyone that is interested, help yourself, feel free to do anything you want with any of my mods

I won't ask when 1.3 will be done, but is there a mailing list people could subscribe to so we can be alerted when it is? I haven't even tried 1.2 because I heard that 1.3 was just around the corner. I'm really looking forward to it. Thank you for all of your time and effort in breathing new life into Fallout 2.

Then I suggest you not waste another minute and download it right now! You will be extremely pleased with what Killap and other guys have done. THEN you should try 1.3, because from what I heard about 1.3 it's going to be quite an upgrade compared to 1.2. So you will double your fun this way =)

P.S. It's not a good idea to wait for 1.3 being released quickly, I've waited for about 6 months and then decided to play 1.2 again, and then once more few months later... 1.2 is just awesome compared to to regular version.

I have to step in here and disagree. Seriously, wait until 1.3.

I know it's been a long time coming, but the wait is almost over.

Agreed. Fallout 2 is a long game (to the point where I felt like it kind of dragged towards the end when played it the FIRST time), and as much as I'm a huge fan who likes to replay it every handful of years, it doesn't have much instant replay value. Yeah, you can replay as a totally different type of character and solve the puzzles differently, but the puzzles themselves will be exactly the same. Play through it now and you probably won't want to start over as soon as 1.3 comes out (even if it's delayed another six months), because 95% of it will feel like "been there, done that, all way too recently."

Now, if you're the type of person who enjoys playing the same game over and over in succession, by all means, start playing 1.2 now. I started a 1.2 game around the time 1.3 was announced, and stopped then. Even though I could've easily finished the game in the intervening time, I'm glad that I didn't. There have been plenty of good games to keep me entertained in the interim, and when 1.3 comes out, it'll have been a good 2-3 years since I played Fallout 2, so it won't be so fresh in my memory that it's boring. I don't want to feel like I'm slogging through the old stuff just so I can see the cool new stuff Killap added. I want the whole game, old material and new, to be fun, which it will be if I haven't played it in awhile.

Heh, the last time I played FO2 was when RP 1.1 came out. I've been waiting for 1.3 ever since and I'm sure it'll be worth it.

You can just subscribe to NMA news RSS feed. I am sure they will announce the release of RP 1.3, just as they announced the release of new megamod version.

OK, thanks.. I didn't think about that.

I'm playing Civilization 3: Conquests right now to bide my time. I saw on a Civ3 modding page they even made a Fallout mod for it.. haha.. I'll try that once I have played another ten or so "normal" games. If 1.3 isn't done by the time I'm bored with Civ3 I'll just try and download Fallout Tactics.. I'm not sure if my crappy PC can handle it though.. I tried playing Arcanum and my PC would freeze every time battle would end and my character healed fatigue. It is difficult to find a good turn based RPG/Sim that will run on an antiquated Win~ME machine with hardware issues. I can't even watch Youtube videos on my web browser.. I have to download them.. and then convert them to a low resolution mpeg.. ahha.ha..a.... (cough) . .a.hh.a.. A new PC is definitely on my list of things to buy as soon as I find work again.

Summer will officially end in two days. Is there any remote chance that we will see a release by the start of next week as killap was hoping for? Its unlikely I guess, judging by how quite this thread has gone lately. If you can't release just yet killap, could you maybe give us an update on what is still left to be done? Some new info would be really appreciated!

I'd rather wait however long it has to take than make Timeslip rush anything :)

Patience is a virtue, after all... And he's done such a good job so far
