We have decided to keep 2.0 to ourselves, as it it simply too good to be unleashed upon the world.
At least share it with me…the map freak. :freak: Otherwise how can I finish my extra goodies…
I do hope everyone realizes that this was a joke on Dravean's part. No need to fret. I'm not holding anything back from anyone. This week of intense RL work is soon coming to a closure. Is a release date around the corner? Will a deadline finally be met? Only those who have stuck around will find out!

"Only those who have stuck around will find out!" - I surely am stuck...Question: will there be the same bugs if you save in combat like in megamod?

So you don't think Miria and Davin are enough then?
Miria and Davin shouldn't be considered as NPCs in their current state, as they don't even level up. And as characters, either of them plays no significant role whatsoever. On top of that, they are extremely bland and boring.
It would probably be a good idea to fix these aspects in RP, make them regular NPCs and add more interesting lines to their dialogue.

Also, I support Pixote's effort to finish the job properly, and encourage Killap to send him the current 2.0 version of RP before the release.

You have to fuck Davin before he is forced into your party…this was a test of your sexual curiosity. I don’t want any delay for the RP (Killap please release ASAP), and while the people enjoy themselves I will work on the extras. There will be certainly map bugs that will be found and fixed between this release and any future release, I see no good reason for delay…

While these are all good points, this still doesn't mean there is reason to change them in the RP. Remember, the point of the RP is to restore cut content. There is no proof that Davin and Miria were meant to be different. While making the game more complete and fleshing out areas of the game that are lacking are a byproduct of all that has been added in the RP, this doesn't mean we should start adding in tons of stuff to flesh out aspects that we personally feel are lacking. However, if a large majority feel this way about some part of the game, then this is what the extras section of the installer is for.

Rest assured that RP 2.0 will not be delayed for any new content.

I understand the frustration that everyone feels from waiting so long. Alas, a hobby can occupy only so much of one's life.

I'm not sure what bugs you are speaking of. However, I've enabled the sfall option that prevents saving in combat:
Code:
;Prevents you from saving in combat except at the start of your turn to avoid a few bugs
;Note that even with this option enabled, it is still not advisable to save in combat at all.

Obliviously you are all free to turn this off, but it is not advisable to ever save in combat.

Sounds interesting, Pixote. This offers another great opportunity to make a female PC have sex with Sulik (maybe even male PC if Sulik turns to be bisexual) before he joins the party, on top of having to pay for his damages (also a great chance for PC to lose the virginity status early on, free of charge). :)

Of course you're right Killap, I was merely coming up with ideas off the top of my head, a lot of which could probably be made possible in RP with more research being done behind the characters, and improve them accordingly.
However, I see no reason why Miria and Davin shouldn't be made into regular NPCs once they join the party.

This brings me to another point. I have recently tried to play vanilla Fallout 2 a while ago, and I found it to be extremely boring (somehow it was more fun to play 12 years ago).
I got past the temple of trials, and completely lost interest a short while after entering Klamath.

This mod could improve the game greatly, and make a lot of difference for the better with all the additions I have suggested so far (go back a few pages in case you have missed any).
Of course, the final decision of what will be added is entirely up to you.

Agreed. But we should also have in mind, that when Fallout bible was created - it was quite a long time ago. The authors don`t have such experience, that some of the modders do have now, and they wasn`t able to think about some things, that we are able to think now, like armor for party members, different bodies for Skynet and so on.

Some of them was not implemented because of lack of manpower resources, some because of those days it didn`t look usefull.

Killap, you are definately right, that RP for F2 should be based on the original vision of the game by it`s creators, but extras section of the installer is the most interesting part, it shows the evolution of the game since it have been released. Hi-res, weather mod, new armor, new quests, new items - it all makes the game to evolve further. Game lives as long as it`s evolving :)

Best of luck :) Hope RP 2.0 will become basis for the new even bigger mod!

Hopefully RP 2.0 will give your love of Fallout 2 a small boost. Of course you will be playing more or less the same old quests, but there is nothing wrong with that. If you want something new and fresh then head Mutants Rising’s way, or to one of the other excellent mods in the making.

If the temple of trials was to receive a face lift, what would the Fallout fans consider worthwhile – more/less critters, more/less skill tests – layout change…I personally have never had a problem with the temple (conceptually and physically) but saying that, in RP it has 2 small (worthwhile) changes.

To be honest, I don't see much motivation for it, and it's been more than 5 years since I've last played it seriously.
The last time I've tried it, even the simplest of things seemed incredibly ridiculous (like reading the description of a hydrant, I couldn't imagine who came up with that stuff), with countless bugs and half-finished jobs to boot.
On top of that, real life seems so much more tempting.

The only reason I've started posting improvement suggestions for this mod was that baby-kicking picture, which I loved from the moment I saw it.
That alone, along with all the fixed bugs, is the main reason why I am considering downloading RP 2.1 when it comes out.
Though I'm still not sure if I'm ever going to play it past the test-drive stage.

You know, I used to hate the temple of trials. Last playthrough, I find that I love it. It feels like the start of a brand new clean slate, so to speak. Particularly after not playing for a while. :D

Okay, more critters would be nice. Always looking for more XP.

I do.

They're "joke" NPCs that are meant to be a burden on the player. Hence why they suck and can't improve (and you can't get rid of them by telling them to wait--you either have to get them killed or sell them off).

However, I can understand why some people desire to flesh them out more and make them into viable NPCs--especially Miria since she's the only female NPC in the game--but that certainly flies in the face of what the developers intended and thus has no place in the RP.

[spoiler:c5d169c3e7]Besides, in RP 2.0, Miria being the only female NPC option might no longer be an issue.[/spoiler:c5d169c3e7]

Another excellent reason why I have suggested the change.
This is one of the many reasons why I find Fallout 2 unbearable in its current state.

I would say that over 90% of this mod flies in the face of what the developers have intended with the game.
We have already been over this when we were discussing the baby-kicking picture, and have concluded that it's all entirely up to the modder what will be changed/included and what not.

You are right, and she is not homosexual either, she is actually bisexual.
I don't know why I mentioned Miria and Davin (oh wait, now I remember, someone brought them up when I suggested a homosexual NPC to be added to the mod).

An actual homosexual NPC with funny catch phrases would be a great addition, though.

Excellent.

I was wondering where the last Rick Roll post has disappeared. :D

I wouldn't call it an excellent reason. Again, the RP is restoring cut content or fleshing out content which was not finished. There's no evidence to support those two NPC's being worthwhile and they were implemented as a gag to begin with. Not really the RP's territory.

That said, i saw someone mention they were working on a minor mod to make them more interesting in the modding forum if you wanted to follow that.

If they make Miria and Davin as strong as an average NPC, that would screw up their story. They are meant to be weak. I mean, how the hell can they be skilled for combat? Besides, the player is forced to marry, and they aren't meant to be of any use. This would be a very bad change to Fallout 2, except for those fans who already know the story well enough. RP thread is only for suggestions that don't remove anything originally put (and meant to be) in the game. And generally not for content not originally meant to be in the game. The childkiller image WAS originally meant to be in Fallout 2, that's why it's getting restored.

Hey, I feel that the Fallout universe is incomplete without Pokémons. I want an area with Pokémons. Oh, I also think that turn-based sucks. I want it real-time! Lynette annoys me, please make her nicer, nobody likes her anyway! I want to play as a blind character! Stupid characters should be able to eat their own poo! I want to be the President of the Enclave and slaughter Arroyo! Oh, and especially, I want a Fat Man!!! They totally missed this one, and they say they liked Fallout 3, therefore they would have included it if they had the idea/time! What about Super Mutant Behemoths?

If you want a mod, make it yourself.

Edit: Oh, and I want a flying three-headed dog that speaks Chinese. With five legs. And three paws.

The whole purpose of Mira and Davin is to be a hindrance - brought about by your sexual exuberance. It was an excellent twist to your kinky encounter. Now if they were to become a full fledged NPC’s, then they are not hindrances but asset – which isn’t the purpose of the encounter. It was a deliberate moral choice made by the player, and hence an excellent piece of role playing. How many male players screwed Davin, probably not a lot, but the option exists for the PC to role play as a gay character, and that’s pretty rare in any game, it tests you the player and the choices you make. I think the game is better and more intelligent for it; therefore those 2 twits should remain as they are – useless hillbillies…but that doesn’t mean that their roles as ‘useless hillbillies’ can’t be intelligently expanded…
