I think someone (or maybe even me) posted this question a looong time ago, but is there an option to highlight items on the ground?

Press the "shift" key.

The devs did start on one but never finished it. EDIT: Not saying I would necessarily want one, but could always be added as an optional.

Really - that's so interesting. I wonder how difficult it would be to finish it.

The code you can find in the original files is incomplete, buggy and doesn't even make much sense. I tried to make it work for my mod, but I ended up re-designing the whole thing and doing it from scratch. Adding a food system would basically require redesigning every location of the game, a couple of system mechanics, and rewriting several encounters.

Not only do you have to add more food items, more possibilities of obtaining food, you also need to take into account all "fast-forwards" in the game (there are some) and prevent the player from starving to death. You need to think of map travel, of negative stat modifiers when you're hungry, etc. This is a very serious modification.

Hello. Lately I tried to replay RP, but unfortunately I got this error, which occurs when I enter certain locations.

OS: Windows 7
Mods installed: RP + Miria mods

I recommend you don't use any other mod except what Killap has with the RP. Miria mod might be the culprit since it would have changed certain scripts. Hopefully Endocore will upgrade this mod after the RP2.2 is finished.

The "fast-forwards" would have to be ignored, and I think the gradual lost of hit points (health) should be realistic - 3 to 5 days of complete starvation (depending on your endurance) before you kick the bucket. Any food automatically removes the starvation tab. I'm sure some smart cookie will design it...up to it Ardent, you were very advanced with your version.

PS: We need the option to eat people as well...I have the artwork ready for semi naked, bloodied, dead people to go. :look:

I'm always amused by the thought of a food system for Fallout. Why not add a toilet system while you're at it ;). Or go and play the Sims if that's your thing.

I know to each their own and all that, but this food thing gets brought up so often, it really makes me wonder about priorities.

i actually have sometimes wanted to be able to use a toilet in fallout.

you could bring along a cats paw magazine, and read while straining

Actually the animations of the player character peeing have been built, Josan12 was working on it. If the Sims allowed turn based combat, and blood sausage I think I would play it.

Adding a food system wouldn't break the game, and it would be optional.

I've been playing this mod for quite a while now, and I just started up a new character. Amazing as always! Excited for the 2.2, so keep up the great work, all of you!

Fallout appears to be running in compatibility mode error

I just did a clean install of Fallout 2, fired it up and had no problems getting playing.

I tried installing RP 2.1.2b, instillation seemed to go well, but now when I try and launch FO2, I get an error message saying I'm running in compatibility mode. I've right clicked the game icon and made sure this is not the case, but still keep running into the same error.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling away from program files to c:games, but when I do that and try and install RP, the installer pops up saying RP bust be installed to the main FO2 directory with the fallout2.exe, despite the fact that I've pointed the installer to c:/games/fallout2

Any help on what I could be doing wrong?

EDIT: I'm a fool. Right clicked the fo2 icon, went to compatibility mode, saw that even though compatibility mode was off, it was still set to run in 256 colors. Unchecked that option, now everything is peachy.

Ok, I solved the problem. What I did wrong is I installed 2 Miria mods and 1 of them was incompatibile.

Now I have installed Rp and "RP2miria" mods, and its running just fine.

The Abbey

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I think I discovered a bug with the water pump quest in The Abbey. I got the 100xp for examining the water pump further twice, but there's more.

This is exactly what I did: It was like 3AM in-game, and I went to the water pump after getting the quest from Abbot. I tried to talk to the mechanics near it, but they said something like "bother me in the morning." I looked at the pump closely and determined that it needed a new motor, and got the XP. I immediately went up to Abbot, and the dialog option was "I'm going to Vault City to get a motor." No one told me to do that, or where to go. So I went to Vault City and talked to Harry, and the dialog option was something like "Dave sent me." I had no idea who Dave was, though. So, I got the motor, and went to talk to the people outside of the pump...Oh, it's Dave. So, I met Dave and then I went to the pump once more. I examined it further, and got 100xp again, then installed the pump.

tl;dr: Didn't meet Dave (I think this is his name), but the game thought I had for some reason, and it made me confused and I got 100xp which I had already gotten.

How do I pick up an object that is somehow underneath a table?
You can have one of your NPCs pick it up if you are using the party orders addon mod.

Guys, I had an encounter with a group of outcasts and there is no exit grids on the map. What do? This is my ironman attempt, I would hate to quit and start over again.
I'm playing the RP 2.1.2b with weapons redone 2.2, windows xp.

Uhm, move to the right?

No, but really, the exit grid is more to your right on that screen you showed. Don't think it's missing, but rather that you can't scroll more to the right.
Could be something wrong with the map edge settings in your high-rez patch.
You could try to remove cave5.ini from your ...\f2_res\Map_Edges\RestorationProject21 folder and see if that changes anything.

Yes, the problem is I cant scroll the map further to the right. I've followed your advice and removed cave5.ini, launched the game, but there was no effect. I also removed other caves and coast.ini files with no effect as well :/ Any other ideas?

Maybe the scroll blocker are in use.

*Marcus's metal armor now has a ground and inventory item. It's not prefect, but it will do the job.

Strange, it's working fine for me.
Maybe you need to get a newer high-rez version (I think I did that), or maybe it's a problem with what resolution you are using. I don't know.
I did "fix" your save (well, I left the map and saved it out in the desert). http://hem.bredband.net/darek1/slot01.rar

@ .Pixote.
Looks good to me. :ok:
