Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

Hi all
On another note, I'm still plagued by the crash when trying to enter Primitive Village. I've seen posts where people say that Sulik talks about it, but he won't talk about it since I recruited him. Not even if I remove him from my crew. Right now I'm heading to the destroyed slaver camp to see if he has more dialog options.

Thanks

Edit

No, that does nothing. Even when I shove Sulik into the cage with his sister, there isn't even any floaty text. Are you sure this is his sister ? They don't seem very close.

Edit again

Leaving Sulik in the cage with his sister and driving to PV with Vic and Cassidy doesn't work. Changing my art cache from 311 to an even 256 doesn't work.

Edit yet again

Removing Sulik from my party doesn't work. Removing him and killing him doesn't work.

I'm not sure whether the problem I meet is a gameplay question or not.
After I saved the S's sister and moved to their tribe, he told me he needed to say bye to his tribe folks and would catch up me on the road. I left the tribe. And I can't find him anymore.

@nuclearconsumer,

It is a reported bug that Sulik sometimes walks off the map after he tells you he wants to stay behind and say his goodbyes, then disappears forever. For me, he always stands in that main circle of the village, and I have to wait 2-3 days before he will join the party again. Try talking to all the male characters in that area to see if it was really Sulik that left the map. If you did, and he isn't there, then you'll probably have to load a saved game and try it again. :(

Could you possibly be running version 1.0 of the Restoration Project? It never happened to me in 1.1

Shit, I knew I should't had put these 10 points into Agility... damn it, I wasted a character point!

Haha what was your build?

Name: Morrison.
Sex: Male.

ST 05
PE 07
EN 02
CH 04
IN 08
AG 10
LK 04

Small Guns
Energy Weapons (4th Tag)
Lockpick
Speech

Jinxed
Fast Shot

That was a good build, aside from always being painfully wimpy, but that was pretty crazy and realistic and kept combat challeging though the game. And I can't bring myself to put less than 10 Agility, I need that 10 AP!!

You know, I've never played a jinxed game before. Maybe I should try it next time. That or an ironman. Has anyone done an ironman playthrough with the Restoration Project yet?

I can find him now. Actually he is in the back side of a tent. Really hard to find

As for those raiders who attack vault city, how can I solve the problem nonviolently?
Do I have to be Bishop's muscle to accomplish that?

Nope. When you get the location, go there and talk to Shadow Who Walks... If your speech is high enough, you can resolve it peacefully (you gotta convince Shadow Who Walks to leave them).

It's like really hard tho... You'll have to SNEAK to him or the others will attack you. What I did after finding the location was: exit it and then using the "2" key to enter the other entrance and sneak to him from that way... Is that the correct way? because it almost feels like cheating to use the "2" to enter the other area when you haven't really "found" it yet.

Why does it only feel like cheating when it IS cheating? :(

How could you IRL use the entrance you don't know is there?

On another note, you can get the "good" entrance by not cheating...

@Raiders comments. Get a mission from bishop, then go place explosives near his safe. Be sure to leave one of the other doors open for when you set the timer, because someone will rush in after the explosion. There's a map in there that shows the location of the raiders. That'll lead you to the good entrance.

As for the nonviolent way... well... you can solve it nonviolently by talking to Shadow who Walks, BUT... you can't actually finish the quest with Lynette unless you have the account book, which is in the safe in the very back of the Raiders' cave. Sooo.... if you want to solve the quest nonviolently, beef up that sneak skill insanely high.

Edit: You'll also need bishop's holodisk, which is in the wall safe with the map.

Ya, they will - you just gotta re-enter the map... And you can get the acc book when there are no more raiders.
