Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

@TwinkieGorilla,
Who is that in your avatar? Seen a lot a films and can't place him. Sure to be embarrassed when I find out!

This is the find of the year for me, but probably old news to other FO2 veterans. Has anyone else found a combat knife in the pile of bones by Keeng Rat in the caves under Trapper town?!

No combat knife ever. Only 109$ for me.

@TwinkieGorilla,
Al Swearengen? I guess I don't watch enough TV. Glad I aint living in USA still or they could prolly put me in Guantanamo for not knowing that. He sure looks like one nasty SOB.

hehe, did you read the article in the link? he WAS in real life, as he was on the show.

alsox2: it was HBO, not real tv. i don' watch much tv myself.

pee-pee3: that whole dialog with "The Doctor" is a pain in the arse. i always make my characters first and foremost "speakers" and my science was above 71%...so the options were not a problem. however, getting the right fucking pattern to get the solar scorcher is a bit strange. well, rather, it's just that my intuitions kept leading me away from the pattern that takes you to the weapon...and you are constantly faced then with basically ending the conversation and getting a quest. it would be nice if you could get the "i have more questions" option until you feel you're done FUCKING TALKING but maybe that's just me.

anyway...why the dialog for the GGG out of nowhere. maybe it's the wine but that shit confused the piss out of me.

Was a mistake on my part. Will be corrected in 1.3.

The dialogue with the Doctor is supposed to be confusing and difficult. I think you don't even get the GGG (Solar Scorcher) if you haven't spent a lot of time talking to Myron about "how" he made Jet, then you have to ask the Doctor specifically about what drugs he has made. I haven't gotten that far in my game with this version yet.

So what about the time limit in SAD after extracting a virus?

Also, does Myron have new armor FRMs like Sulik, Cassidy, and Vic do? It says he's using them in combat control screen but his appearance doesn't change.

Oh, and I got the bug people reported from v1.1 that I didn't get then - Gravedigger karma for unearthing the Mordino stash in Golgotha

well, sure...yes. i get that. but that's not what i mean. i'm really dialog crazy...ESPECIALLY in the fallout world, because the dialog...no matter how meaningless, is almost always brilliant or funny (i.e. the elton john line to renesco). so when i can't get back to the "i have more questions" it's a pain in the ass, since i feel like i had more i wanted to either find out...or say. get me? most characters in both games allow for that (exhaustion of possibilities) unless you say the wrong thing, etc.

The time limit was corrected in the patch and therefore the RP. It should be at least. I will have to double check. Saving during the count down shouldn't be bad. I haven't tried doing this before, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Correct, no new frms for Myron yet.

So, this isn't a bug. You don't have to unearth that grave and just because you were told about it doesn't make you a non-gravedigger.

ok, go ahead and spoil it. Who do I speak to to get Marcus's armor? I must have missed someone.
I never disclose secrets. 8-) Check Mortica's RP guide.

Out of curiosity, did anyone ever try to do anything with the pop rocks found at the EPA?

You mean the pop rocks have a purpose? o.o
Dude, everything has a purpose - or at least does something. In this case, you need to know the urban legend behind pop rocks. I'm surprised no one has tried this.

That's a bit of a stretch, eh? Aren't there several useless books, the shampoo bottle, cigarettes, the test tube rack. Or did you mean everything besides those? :P
About the pop rocks, the urban legend is in it's description. I have tried before but found no way to successfully do it. Or is it supposed to be used on a special person? Maybe someone in NCR?
