I'm loving this mod, but I'm also having a bit of a problem here.

I need to free the slaves in the NCR for the Rangers, but the terminals just won't work, just giving me "invalid code sequence".

My science skill is over 130%, so is there something else I'm missing?
 
I don't think you need to use science skill on those terminals at all, just 'use' them like you would a door. It probably checks your science skill to determine if it unlocks or not, but it should open without that high of science skill. (Might take several tries.)
 
lol @ EPA and Dr.Strangelove references hahaha... 'precious bodily fluids' ... gotta love it.

Anyway, from reading the Walkthrough here http://numerometria.com/F2RP_WT.htm#epa it says I should find a gattling laser minigun, a pulse piston and a gauss pistol in the northern locker room in the red section (East). I have got everything there but these lovely items.

Any clues?

Yeah that was true for the RP 1.1 version, but have now been changed. That part was apparently not updated.

Yeah that was true for the RP 1.1 version, but have now been changed. That part was apparently not updated.

Also, this is the second time I play the game as a female character, the first time was just with killaps patch, but now it is with the RP mod. I did not manage to become a captain of the guard the first time and am having the same problem now.

The 'Ultimate Fallout 2 Guide' says all you have to do is do all the VC quests, be her post boy with the hollodiscs and have her respect counter high enough. Well, I have said 'First Citizen'' over 100 times on both occasions and she will not make me captain, but tell me to go to randall.

.... help?

I'm pretty sure playing with a female character makes no difference, and I can't see why killap would change that.
Well I guess I should ask the most obvious first. Is your charisma 8 or higher?

Yes, its 10 and I have like 150% speech.

Doesnt matter I figured a way out. The two things I have changed is that rather than adressing the first citizen at the end of the conversation (as in, Goodbye FC), I kept doing whilst in conversation, referring to her title again and again and again and after 50 or so times ending the convo, which I wasnt doing before.

Also, I put myself in front of her rather than talking to her back like I was doing before.

That seemed to work.

Oh, and something i've noticed, not sure if this is killaps patch or RP, in NCR getting the 'deliver map to vortis' quest, and then taking the ranger quest to kill him and his slavers does not erase the 'deliver map to vortis' quest, despite him being dead.

EDIT: Also, having Brainbot in your party with best brain and stealing from him (and trying to plant something on him) gives the message ''There is no space left for that item'' even if he is empty. THe only way I found around this was trading with him through the dialogue options.

ALso, is there any way to not get the 'massacre' in vault 13? The fact you can liberate the deathclaw in Navarro and he says that he will 'warn his breathern' seems to indicate an unfinished quest. The fact you get blamed for the genocide hints at that even more.

Oh, and again, what about Melchior and his son?

EDIT 2: Oh, and if you finish all of Doc's quests, but did not get the Solar Scorcher before, you will be unable to do so afterwards. I have Myron with me NOW, but all I get is a deadend dialogue line.
 
Sorry for double post, but I think I have encountered a bug, either from RP, or one of the sub mods I have installed (which I have read are compatible).

Anyway, um stuck in San Fran. I have done some quests, like helping the brotherhood with vertibird, going to navarro, giving shi vertibird plans, finding corpse in hubologist base, getting the quest to kill ahs-9, and got the 'upgrades' (+1 strenght, etc) at the brotherhood base and seen the video of matt dying. But when I go out of the main map of San Fran, say to the hubologists, tanker vagrants and shi, and then back to main map, the screen freezes with the rotating world cursor stuck in place.

The annoying thing is I can't ctrl + alt + del as the mouse is seemingly frozen there aswell, and I am forced to restart. More annoyingly, windows fucking vista convertes to FO2 graphics and everything is in 640 resolution with 8 coulour, which is very annoying as I have to change it back to normal all the time.

I have the latest version of the miria mod installed, the high def pack, and the B-Team mod.

You are using B-Team mod along with RP 1.2? Does it work? Suppose it overwrites Jozan's models for Sulik/Vic/Cassidy, right? Hmmm...

Well, I read somewhere that RP already included B-Team armour mod, or maybe it was during the installation where you can chose aditional mods.

But I noticed it didnt work for Myron, Lenny and Miria. So I installed the B-Team mod directly and now it works for everybody. Cassidy and Sulik have their own sets of armour (like with power armour suliks is covered in emblems and cassidy's has the us flag on it), but VIcs is just the generic 'power armour' look.

That's an old, old bug.
Too Many Items Bug - Game freezes upon entering a town/location - If you, your NPC's and your car goes into a town with too many of these items or if you acquire them in there, the game can't save the state of the map properly once you leave (the problem is not having many items on a map but to bring too many of those with you when you leave). You will not notice it's broken until the next time you try to visit the place, then the loading symbol (spinning globe) will freeze and the game will crash. Removing most of the items will stop new maps from breaking but won't fix the ones that already are broken. You can sort of fix this by going into your savegame slot and replace the broken map save with one from a working save slot. You must have been to that location in your working save first though, otherwise that map will not exist in that saveslot. (ie to fix Chinatown in San Francisco, take the file SFCHINA.SAV from a working save and put it in your broken saveslot.) In case you don't have a working save, start your game, push Ctrl-R at the title screen, load up the map you need and save game to any available slot.
Also, older versions of the RP uses the B-team mod, the latest one uses a custom armor mod, which is much better in my opinion, even though it doesn't have armors for all NPC's.

The custom armor mod is nicer because they don't all look the same, and it took a lot of work to do. Plus the generic B-team mod don't restrict what weapons the NPC's can use, which is kind of cheating, unless you give them only the weapons they should use.

To your other questions:
I just tried to plant stuff on brainbot, you are correct it don't work.
You can stop the massacre in Vault 13 by killing Dr Shreber or whatever his name is in Navarro. There is a time limit though, maybe within a month after you've been to Vault 13 or something like that.
There is nothing with Melchior and his son, and I don't know if there ever were plans for that.
Also, you are correct about the solar scorcher, but I don't see that as a bug. But maybe killap could change that for convenience. I don't know.

Really? Like how? I give gauss rifles for Vic and Cassidy, mega power fist for Sulik, gauss rifle for brainbot, gauss pistles for myron and lenny, and yak-something something pulse rifle for Marcus.

But I though that was the correct weapons? Can you give them others?

Yes I noticed that by killing the doctor Vault 13 'stays'. Is there an ending for this? And yes, just seems a shame you cannot get a decent weapon because you only get one chance to talk to him.

Also, do you know if there is any way to remove the charisma restrction to party members? Thanks.

EDIT: And something I should have seen coming. Replacing the 'Chinatown' save with a working one deleted all my belongings in that map except for the car. I may have lost quest essential items, not sure. I did lose a shitload of weapons I was hoarding though, for trading purposes *sigh*.

That one I wasn't aware of. Good one to know.
I was always wondering if the Vault 13 massacre could be prevented somehow.

I suppose that works even if you haven't been to Vault 13 before wasting Dr Shreber?

I don't know, I went fo V13 first, and then roughly straight to Navarro whithin the month. I remember in the normal FO the only way not to get the bad ending for V13 was to not go there, so I suppose you are right.

EDIT: Planting stuff on Goris also does not work (there is not enough space - even if he is carrying nothing)
 
I'm running f2 with the RP 1.2, nothing else. (except kids)

My Sulik just lost his ability to fight with the super cattleprod. Weird.

I was at the abbey with Sulik, Vic and Cassidy, fighting scorpions, no problems. Vic and Sulik wore mark 1 metal armor, and for some reason, their FRMs all show the standard metal armor frm without Suliks leather straps on the back, for example. Vic uses the same frm as Sulik. Cassidy, who has Mark 2 metal armor, has the "greenish" leather frm with bald head.

I later find Mark 2 metal armor for Vic and Sulik. When I replce their armor, their frm's change to their improved npc-armor ones, but suddenly Sulik refuses to use the cattle prod in combat. Is this lacking from the npc armor mod?
 
Sulik can't use any of the 'club' type weapons. That includes the cattleprod.

The only way he could possibly have used it is if you have had the 'B-team' mod installed which makes all NPC's use the generic hero sprite and therefore means they can use all weapons.
 
Was that ever included in the RP mod? It was quite some time since I installed the mods and I don't recall using that mod, but I must have it then, since he definitely uses the superprod.

well well, I think it might be that I have installed new NPC armor on top of RP 1.2, but never asked my guys to switch armor until now. I guess the new frm's didn't kick in until I asked them to switch armor, and as soon as I did, they can't use their weapons.
