Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

It's a lot of work. For a char that has been a joke addition (shotgun wedding), you're surely asking for a lot. Fallout 2 is not about bioware-styled romances and Miria is a horrible NPC, not being able to level up, having pitiful life and horrible accuracy. If you mod her up to be decent, it's no longer RESTORATION. It's a fanmade addition. Thus, it should pretty much be not included. I'm not opposed to having a custom animation for Miria, but why would you want it if she's not modded, seeing what a horrible NPC she is? :)

Not that I'm the one to be an oracle in this kind of stuff, but I don't believe that it is a lot of work, since it was already included in the RP 1.0. (ALL-THE-ANIMATIONS-ARE-ALREADY-THERE).

And yes, this was and suppose to be additional content, just as dogmeat armor or quick Goris de-robing, which ARE included in the RP 2.0. It is players joice during the install, whether he wants this stuff or not. Dammit, I think quick de-robing for Goris is a stupid idea, so I didn't install that. You think I should start persuading everyone that this is such a ridiculous idea, make Killap delete it, so that nobody would be ever able to have it?

If you don't like apple pies, you don't eat them. You don't try to forbid another people from eating them. The problem in this situation is that some of us like apple pies, but only killap knows how too cook it. It's as simple as that.

EPA

I need some help with the 2nd level of EPA, contains minor spoilers.

[spoiler:48432ef7a4]What on earth am I supposed to stick into the rusty fan? It says you could easily jam this fan with some piece of metal. I've tried everything metallic from crowbars to wrenches but nothing works.[/spoiler:48432ef7a4]

Take the "Metal pole" in the building right next to the entrance... :D

I must be blind, I can't find a metal pole anywhere :p

*edit*
Nevermind, I re-checked everything for like the fifth time and found it. Thanks for the help!

Sfall, which is included in the RP, makes pressing the shift key highlight items on the ground making stuff easy to spot and basically removes pixelhunting.

Is there a use for marijuana in the game?

By the way, I got +2 CHA from ACE operation again... was this changed or is it just my game? (took implants before doing this)

Of course you can smoke it...

Tis a bug that will be fixed in an upcoming update.

Someone help me out here. It's literally been years since I've been to the Enclave oil rig, what am I supposed to do here? To the right of the entrance room there's an area which ends in a door I cannot seem to open, and the elevator in the entrance room takes me to a vertibird unloading pad which seems like a useless area, I can't find anything to do there.

That vertibird unloading pad area seems a bit ridiculous by the way, there appears to be what is a functional nuclear reactor and all components that go with it out in the open, at the mercy of the elements and seagulls shitting all over it.

Just curious, in UP or RP, there's no way to kill/assassinate Dr. Johnson in Redding without setting the whole town hostile? (to prevent Redding's VC ending)
It's a bit strange that you can safely assassinate the guard behind the metal door in the back of the casino with super stimpaks or explosives, but assassinating Dr. Johnson will set Redding hostile... :?

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems the death of any of the important NPCs in Redding will set variables to make the whole town hostile. Guess we shouldn't be too greedy right? :P

what about entering to the cave a strong tribesman guarding front of it ?? [Primitive Tribe]
AND
in NCR, after pasing the Bazaar, in Stockman's Associations there is a second door that opens to a room, there standing a guy in leatcher jacket and long hair. But seems like a talking door and no way you may going in. What's the point here any idea welcomes.

Even with a gamble skill of 120+ I could never enter that room...it's a mystery (you might need an insanely high speech skill), Per's guide will have the answer.

EDIT: Per's Guide - To enter the craps hall, you need at least Gambling 51%, and you must not have accepted quest 12 yet. Ask Duppo for work, then ask if there's another way to make a quick buck. Depending on your Speech you can pay him from $100 to $500 for the password to the door, but it's not much fun in there (Den-style craps table, you can steal $1000 from the croupier). If you have ST 9 you can take a Crowbar to the door instead.

There is a quest in there. Talk to the head warrior again (after a few days) after you've helped him with the merchant trade.

You can gamble in there if you know how to get in. Yeah, check Per's guide.

And remember you must have ghost girl quest completed as well.

Does any one have an up-to-date walk through to epa? Nothing regardless old walk through fit here. No south exit grid, no doctor, just cave in stairs and underground level full of rats, scorpions and mantises :/

I'm damn sure it was said here a few times already, but...

how to get to the vault village? I wandered through half of the VC and found no way to get there... should I talk with someone specific about something specific or what?

Yes, this is a quest you will receive after doing scouting quests for that chief of guards fallow (don't remember his name now)in Vault City-I'm not sure if there are some prerequests to it like destroying the raiders or repairing the plant. I've done almost as the last quest.

Hey sorry if I am repeating this, but I searched 10 pages but couldn't come up with anything and the walk through page seems to be down

Fixed the power plant already for Gecko, the partrol dude give me a quest to kill the mole rats at a nearby village. Went there, want to help them instead, talked to dude in leather jacket in Vault City for weapons, talked to McClure, now I am looking for something in Gecko? I got no clue where to go. Thanks in advance!

McCurry,
go to the junkyard section of Gecko (where Skeeter is), there is something interesting in one of abandonments. Good luck.
