HL1 has still better AI *shrugs*

I think the situations where the AI is using cover in F3 is rather coinsidence than realy the AI working. Hell, not even in Skyrim is the AI really taking cover - archers for example tend just to move a little bit from side to side to avoid your arrows.

You can see this by the fact that the objects in the F3 game world are very poorly designed for cover-gameplay as it is pretty normal that the textures don't match with the obstacles. You will constantly see your bullets geting eaten by invisible edges where the model sticks out of the texture. Likea around corners, rocks, the gabs between a fence etc.

I know games that fixed that stuff as well 15 years ago.

Most of the HL1 enemies stand there or run back and forth, I'm not sure what game you're remembering but I just replayed it recently.
 


Yes, thanks for posting videos of games I've played doing what I said they do. You're also comparing the AI of military soldiers versus super mutants instead of Vortigaunts vs. Ghouls or the soldiers vs. the NCR or something. Again, the Radiant AI isn't great but it's not worse than HL1 AI.

The AI in Half-Life is pretty good regardless of what you say Battlecross. I beat it again recently and it holds up just as good as Bethesda's broken garbage.

These achievements are garbage too for the record.

Units take cover in the battle of Hoover dam because they programmed rather contextual and specific AI packages for that sequence, the "Radiant AI" is pretty terrible because the engine it's run in is kind of an outdate piece of garbage for what Bethesda is trying to use it for.
 
Back on topic though, No companion quest. Unlike in New Vegas where i think most companions had quest of some sort.

For instance Arcade had "For Alude Lang Sang." Veronica had. "I could make you care."

Clearly bethesda doesn't give two much of a fuck about their own companions that would go beyond the simplicity of just fucking and fighting. We can't have dynamic characters that are capable of going through emotional of physical trials or tribulations that can have input from the PC.

But regardless, No way to join the institution it seems.
 
Well we don't know there are no companion quests, those didn't have Achievements innew Vegas either. I am thinking companion quests will be replaced with the Romance routes.
 
Looks like a rather straight forward and simple list honestly. Also, joining the Brotherhood...again? Why do I get this feeling it's part of the main story as well.

I don't think you read what I said. Half Life's AI isn't bad but it isn't some pinnacle of AI like he is claiming it is.

Sadly I can't find the video anyone where someone did a direct side by side comparison of the exact same scenes like you see in the E3 Chapter 5 demo. Pretty hilarious because almost nothing of what you saw in the Demo actually made it in the finished game.

My feelings about these achievements are mixed rather than wholly negative. If level fifty is some kind of great achievement, maybe there will be a "soft cap" for leveling. As for the story, the Latin names for some of the achievements suggest that Emil is trying to seem smarter than he actually is. I just hope that you don't turn out to be a Synth and your family doesn't show up again because those are the two lamest "plot twists" I can think of when it comes to this game.
 
If they were put together it would be worse like, "Dad it has been 200 years and i'm in my 50s after getting out of the vault around 150 years later. You were never in cryo you were taken in by the institution as an experiment to become a half human half android hybrid and had any knowledge of it removed."
Now that would be awful.

This is really strange (ridiculous?) to talk about the story in less than two weeks before the premiere, I mean what are they thinking to not give us any information about it. It will be really that bad again?! lol
