Fallout 4 Creation Club is now live

The "Creation Club" mod on the nexus is, well right on the nose. Good for that modder to have a sense of humor about it.

@Crni Vuk I think Zeno has simply been confusing the definition of hate with dislike. Then expecting attention for their edge lording over how everything is abysmal. While entertaining, it is indeed reductive as it will only provide additional angst.

@ThatZenoGuy I hope one day you find peace and can edge lord no longer. :falloutonline:

So apparently the Creation Club update broke the F4SE again, and if the fact that the 2.1GB update contained all the starting content of the CC is any indication it might be that any further updates to the Creation Club will result in more HUGE patches because they might always contain everything. So if they're really that stupid you'll have several dozen gigabytes of waste data on your HDD that you probably don't even want, but you can't do shit about it.
And it might break the F4SE and your mods every once in a while.
Holy shit, this might end up as a clusterfuck of supremely epic proportions.

Yup, that is what everyone has been pointing out. The reason for all that "pre-load" is because they are focusing on the consoles. PC games should not be made for consoles if they rely on mods!

Sometimes I am asking my self why Bethesda isn't simply becoming a console-developer making only games for consoles. But I guess as long as they can squeze a quick buck out of PC players, a shoddy port is the quickest and cheapest method to do just that.

To be honest, I didn't read every single post in this thread, so I was kinda expecting not to say anything new :D
This really might end up as a big failure on Bethesda's part that could potentially erase most of the goodwill they earned over the years. People were already getting annoyed by them making the Skyrim SE and some card game instead of a new TES, and shoddily trying to extend the lifetime of Skyrim and Fallout 4 didn't make that any better. Their next full installment of either TES or Fallout (or even something new) better be really good, or they might be in trouble.

/edit:
I probably won't.

I'll probably end up just hanging myself.

I wasn't referencing this particular forum, just the outcry on steam about this issue. What Bethesda doesn't get is since they are designing skinner box games is that people get bored of them very quickly. Unlike a game with actual depth that can be replayed; the shelf lives of the games are severely limited.

It's all down to mods for their games. People are still playing Skyrim and Fallout 4 because of mods, that's the main thing that gives them life. I think Bethesda know that, and they calculated that by focusing more on mods (especially on consoles) they can get away with even less development work and people will still like it. To enable modding on consoles they had to limit modding in general, though, which might have been an unforeseen consequence. The limited modding really hurt Fallout 4 on PC in the long run, I think. Voiced protagonist and the proprietary animation format really screwed some more ambitious modders over.
We'll see if they can climb out of that hole, but I kinda doubt it.

I think the problem with Bethesda is the same issue like with an alcoholic.

You kinda have to recognize the problem first, before you can actually fix it ...

The problem is everyone is more interested in purchasing games that implement scheduled rewards; Peck button, receive corn.

I hate to say this but the vast majority of players out there are simpletons only looking for a quick reward system similar to someone who plays the slots at a casino for hours upon hours. Someone needs to figure out a way to break this trend or every game that a AAA game developer makes will just be the same game reskinned for maximum profit.

I don't know about everyone here, but a scheduled and conditioned reward, is not rewarding nor enjoyable in the slightest for me.

I mean...It's not that hard to figure out why fucking anything in gaming happens nowadays.

Gamers are fucking idiots.

"300 dollars for a mesh and texture in a multiplayer only game where it doesn't even change the stats? Sounds like a good deal to me!"

Yeah well it's of course easy to go in and claim everyone's just an idiot with irrational desires causing the death of every industry trough the shallow content that is created and everyting was super cool in the past - with modern movies this might even be true ... But that is a story for another time. And yeah, there is some truth to that. But when I get to cynical about it, I need to stop for a moment and think about all that thoughless, stupid and idiotic schlock that I consume just for the fun of it.

The truth is, we're all like that, just not with EVERYTHIGN and ALL THE TIME. I prefer high quality in my games, but I can watch totally stupid movies like Transformers and get some pleasure out of it. I like to listen to very specific types of music, that barelly anyone knows or appreciates, but I have no problem with stuffing my self with mediocre food.

The point is, we guys love to circle jerk here and we love to shit on all those plebs out there that don't see things like we do. And yeah, it is true when you look at Fallout 3 and 4 and the kind of shit it has become when you compare it Fallout 1. I would not call anyone a 'fan' of the series if he doesn't at least recognize that neither Fallout 3 nor 4 is a Sequel to the first games. However, I can not fault people for enjoying that schlock. Because people have ALWAYS been like that, when you think about it.

Sarah Bernhardt, was probably one of the most skilled actresses of her time, known and liked for her performances and skills that she brought to the theater.

Sarah Bernhardt (French: [sa.ʁa bɛʁ.nɑʁt];[3] 22 or 23 October 1844 – 26 March 1923) was a French stage actress who starred in some of the most popular French plays of the late 19th and early 20th century, including La Dame Aux Camelias by Alexandre Dumas, fils, Ruy Blas by Victor Hugo, Fédora and La Tosca by Victorien Sardou, and L'Aiglon by Edmond Rostand. She also played male roles, including Shakespeare's Hamlet. Rostand called her "the queen of the pose and the princess of the gesture" while Hugo praised her "golden voice". She made several theatrical tours around the world, and was one of the first prominent actresses to make sound recordings and to act in motion pictures.

Yet, she didn't even earn a fraction of what artists like Jospeh 'Le Petomane' Pulol earned with his performance on stage, which involved the farting of popular songs ...

Le Pétomane (/ləˈpɛtəmeɪn/, French pronunciation: [ləpetɔˈman]) was the stage name of the French flatulist (professional farter) and entertainer Joseph Pujol (June 1, 1857 – 1945). He was famous for his remarkable control of the abdominal muscles, which enabled him to seemingly fart at will. His stage name combines the French verb péter, "to fart" with the -mane, "-maniac" suffix, which translates to "fartomaniac". The profession is also referred to as "flatulist", "farteur", or "fartiste".[1]

It is a common misconception that Joseph Pujol actually passed intestinal gas as part of his stage performance. Rather, Pujol was able to "inhale" or move air into his rectum and then control the release of that air with his anal sphincter muscles. Evidence of his ability to control those muscles was seen in the early accounts of demonstrations of his abilities to fellow soldiers

Going to be honest, I used to watch stupid stuff, play stupid stuff, etc.

But I don't anymore.

I go out of my way to do some thourough research on shit, and then I just don't watch/play it.

I haven't been to the cinemas for at least a year, I haven't bought a modern AAA game for years upon years.

I haven't even played a modern AAA game for years.

Zeno, I am pretty confident that you're a relatively normal human beeing and thus enjoying something that others would see as travesty or schlock. That's the point.

All I am saying is, that it's very easy to preach from a very high position, if no one can reach your standards, while I believe the reality is probably more in the middle. We here on NMA (most of us) are simply one extreme, when it comes to Fallout and RPGs in general. But that doesn't mean that we are the better gamers in the end.

Shows how thorough your "research" is.
He's a hypocrite Atom, which means he has probably seen them all. Just not paying money for it for some edgy reason ;).

I'm a huge action fan, Aliens, Rambo, Terminator 1, etc, I love them.

No modern movie even compares.

Jurassic World is shittier than Jurassic Park, Alien Covenant is trash, etc.

I hate the argument that 'YOU NEED TO SEE IT TO KNOW HOW GOOD IT IS!", its circular logic, do you need to have cancer to know how bad it is?

Please stop assuming I pirate everything, I've said a few times that I really, really don't pirate anything in particular, mostly old games no longer available in stores.

I just don't watch them, end of story.

I see enough in the trailers, in reviews, their scripts (commonly available online), etc.

I don't want to proclaim myself 'person above others', but frankly the bar is so low, that being remotely above it might as well be god-tier, because apparently anyone who disagrees will just throw ad hominems at you.
