Fallout 4 - Far Harbor Official Trailer

8 Pages of lamenting over this shit?

Pfft. People should know already. :P

So why exactly do we have to save the people of the vault? Are we supposed to care about them? I never gave two shits about anyone in both Arroyo or Vault 13, and only cared about characters after you leave the starting areas. Honestly it's your opinion that their writing is absolute shit, and you're more than welcome to have it.

(note, response not directed at Zyax, it's just the clip I quoted, K?)

Wait, as I recall... "coming from vault 13, regardless of who you are or how you feel about your peers in the vault, a corrupt overseer throws you to the wolves in an attempt to preserve the status quo, and because you're not a total waste of skin, you make at least a token effort to find a water chip, or maybe you just wander around, but you are drawn into a larger train of events and either save the world or die horribly depending on what kind of person you are."

OK so there's actually quite a lot going on in the core plot going on in F1 and, er, well, really not that much in F2 but whatever, the sequel never quite has the expositional strength of the original. So, at this point I've completely lost track of what the heck of what you guys are arguing about or even who's on which side.

But try this: describe your feelings towards your family in F4 in terms of the relationship to your character and your motivation. "somebody stole your kid, we know not why, but you're out to get him back, so you go and build settlements."

Have I got that right? Sounds like a no-contest writing-wise. Really not sure what the discussion is about again. (The problem with F4's plot is that you *do* have a clear motivation, IOW)

And this is about as far from topic as possible. Except in the general sense that "plots that give the main character a motivation that is relevant to the expected gameplay are good." :)

Gulper? Sounds like a fat salamander, what the hell is that thing doing in a swampy region? Angler is obviously a Mirelurk King Reskin, seeing as how it leaps and attacks exactly like a Mirelurk King, just with a swamped out head and texture on the body.

Some of the new achievements include: one for each of five quests, finding 20 locations, cooking new recipes, and collecting a new magazine series. Only five quests? I really hope there's some unmarked and/or side quests, otherwise this sounds like it's going to be padded to hell with exploring new locations.

Well, more enemies that suddenly jump out of the ground. At least this time they're visible beforehand...

Looks like Beth copied something from Obsidian.
I'm sure it's a progress.
[ screencap here ]

Also, new beasts are called Gulpers (the lizards) and Anglers(obviously). More to come, probably.
Valentine has got a radio station.
Trappers aren't friendly and have their own flavour of armor.
What is your source?
/videogame general/

The full name of the runaway girl is Kasumi Nakano.

@Polynoid .. pretty sure @DirtyOldShoe was referring to the image you'd posted... (but yes the rest of his info he cited source for now..)

@DirtyOldShoe > this was literally the same interface used in several instances of New Vegas where you are asked to help heal NCR troops at Camp Forlorn Hope (and I think elsewhere too?)

/v/ seems to support Polynoid's claim that you can take any companion with you. Allegedly, the specific conversation seen in the screenshot with that synth is only triggered if Nick is with you.

I presume Nick will be on the island anyway since it is his case.
There's also a torrent available if anyone is interested.

It seems that someone has leaked it, just like what happened with the CK. Here's a review of someone who supposedly has played the DLC, possible SPOILERS:

I was able to obtain a copy of far harbor for my game and after playing for 6 hours and rushing through the thing and trying to make sense of it all this is what I've got for it on a scale of 1 to ten.

6/10

Lets begin with gameplay. Other than new weapons such as the one seen in the trailer (marine combat armor set) along side new enemies it doesn't seem to offer as much as it should have in terms of underwater gameplay. As in there is none. While the new creatures do add more immersion they don't bring anything new to the table. although i do find the tertis like gameplay at one point fascinating if a bit out of genre.

The story. While I do enjoy lots of moments from it, among being that nick has a brother synth as seen in the trailer, alongside the sea town theme and beautifully creepy atmosphere of the children of atom I feel like the amounts of choice near the end were in lacking. You could either kill far harbor for the children, have dima (nicks brother) cover up his crimes and commit more into mainting a state of peace between the two settlements, you could also kill the children of atom for far harbor, or reveal dimas crimes while leaving the conflict between the two settlements alongside the future of the synth colony tense it just makes me think Bethesda has once again failed at giving us closure.

Was it the sequel to point lookout? in much ways yes, albeit with a much more immersive story and more likable characters.
also there is only whale bones, and no underwater city.

Pfff, please.. it's Bethesda we're talking about here. It would not be a wrong assumption to make seeing how bad the last two DLC's were.

Well, that looks so lazy. Those "weapons" are so uninspired. Meat hooks, pole hooks, another gun that looks like a modified rifle from vanilla, Harpoon gun (we bioshock 2 now, there was speargun), the striker and the armour.

This thing is so lazy. I mean in Fallout NV dead money, you got holorfile, bear trap fist, saturnite knife, assasin armour etc. Here we get a batch of armours made out of junk, except the first one just like in the base game.

Also really? RADCHICKEN? Seriously? This is way beyond lazy.

On the upside, we can build our own traps, hurray, this is definitelly going to be a deal breaker and change the combat so much. /s

Oh look a giant mutated crab. Radcrab, anyone?

Oh come on, Nick Valentine has got brother, really? So he is vital to this DLC and we have to take him with us ... great.

The only good thing is lever action rifle. I can play as a cowboy, dealing justice to commonwealth scum (aka everyone who lives in it).
