Fallout 4 gameplay videos leaked, Bethesda starts taking them down

I wonder if Elder Scrolls will be going for a voiced protagonist now? The dialog and C&C in those games is already non-existent so it won't be as big a departure as it is with Fallout.

I think Fallout 4 is the test case for this. Since having a voiced protagonist for an Elder Scrolls game would be much more complicated, as a significant portion of the TES fanbase feels strongly about playing one race or another. So unless you want to upset people you have to figure out whether you're going to have a bunch of different voice actors, or apply filters or whatever. If the voiced protagonist in Fallout 4 doesn't go well then you can scrap the whole idea, and this is much easier and cheaper since there's only two kinds of things you can be in main-series Fallout games anyway (male and female human.)

Has anybody noticed that Vertibirds are the new dragons?

I would imagine they would have to use multiple voices for the various races. I'm sure many people would be pissed to find that their Argonian sounds like an Imperial.

Just imagine how many lines of voiced dialogue they can claim on, if they have to have 7-8 different men and 7-8 different women to do all of the TES races..

They might just do it for that alone.

Our game now contains over 900 000 spoken dialog! Most of it it will be:

Hmm!
Yeah! I cracked it!
There we go!

But! It's over 900 000!

You forgot the famous combat grunts like:
"Ahhhh", "Urg", "Oooof", and "Gaaahhhh".

I'm playing Fallout 1 and after playing Fallout 4 it makes me appreciate the originals sooooo much more.

Oh don't get me fucking started... I forgot... the frustration
I'm meeting this synth guy, and he doesn't even finish his greeting, all "I took these guys out and - oh no you don't!" then he runs off after a fucking vertibird. I don't wanna get involved, cus they're brotherhood, and I'm brotherhood, so I figure I'll let him just defeat them on his own. It takes.. forever. So I leave the area, I go far, to make time pass, I see his dot on the map, he is chasing them around. I return later, and he finally comes back to the spot, but before I can talk to him - mutants. Oh, random encounters, I love them! This time I can get involved at least, untill the goddamn vertibird returns. I leave the area.

I return again. He is back at the starting point. I run up to talk to him, and he just goes "Oh no, you don't!" I swear...
He ditches off again, to fight an incoming goddamn motherfucking vertibird...

I leave the area...

On my return, I am finally able to finish conversation with him, and begin the quest, and I am not kidding - he takes off to fight more vertibirds, but THIS time I have the marker for the boats and the raiders, and can at least finish the quest.

I had the EXACT experience with that quest. This real time dialogue system is just fucked not just from only having 4 dialogue choices but because is a clunky piece of shit, when completing Minutemen quests I sometimes have to chase Gravyman around because he keeps initiating his "Patrol" routine and just walks off the conversation, he starts Patrol even if I assign him to tend some corn.

Just imagine how much bigger the download would be if they recorded PC dialog for all 20 possible races and genders in The Elder Scrolls. I'll bet it would be at least double the FO4 download size of 25 GB. Not to mention, all the extra money Bethesda would have to shell out for voice acting during development.

My guess is the next TES will have a voiced PC, but only three playable races - one human, one elf and one beast. All the other races will be NPCs only. And Bethbots will still defend it.

So I found a dialogue sequence with LESS than 4 options. It was kind of hilarious how unfinished it looks. It also made reference to people who I don't even remember interacting with, mostly because most characters are that boring.

Also I attacked and killed a Legendary Feral Ghoul in VATS and when the VATS segment ended I was teleported to a building I was in 5 minutes earlier and about 5 meters away from the Ghoul I actually attacked. Didn't record it because I was just doing Hancock Relationship grinding with the Minutemen quests.

Edit: I just found out who Paul and Cooke are.... but why am I getting accused of killing Cooke? I prevented Paul from killing him and we split the money of the botched Drug Deal equally neither fucking died....... Bug? Or is the game that devoid of consequences? I have also noticed how Bobbi no Nose keeps getting talked about as if she was dead despite me actually talking her out of attacking the guards and letting her live....

I did that quest with Paul and Cooke too, I went to that drug deal and convinced that ghoul chick that I would let her go after she told me the location of the lab but she and Cooke still were fighting each other after the dialogue sequence. Cooke killed her anyways so why the hell did I go through the so called "peaceful" option if she dies anyways? All I have to say is...this game...this game.

It would make a pretty good Intelligence 1 character though. Grunts and Humms as anwsers worked pretty well for the chosen one

I thought the Fallout 1 conversation with the overseer and giving him the chip with low intelligence was hilarious "JUST GIVE ME THE CHIP". I don't think Bethesda is capable of pulling it off, or can they?

The entire game is intelligence 1.

Nah - they will reduce it down to 1 to 3 playable races and it will be lauded as a revolutionary change (3 would be pushing it really) because there were too many races to choose from.

Just wait for the "professional" reviews:

"For the first time ever in a TES game, you can play as a Khajiit!"
