Yeah, not as bad as I feared. Still no Ron Perlman though. He did an okay job, though leaned too hard on the 'sad' lever. It won't ever be the same without Ron doing all of that.
No idea why they needed to replace Ron Perlman in the intro with the voice of the male character. Specially when you can play as the Female one and feel no connection to the intro, which is what I think they were trying to do, connecting the player character to the intro.

Exactly. They ditched the big picture style of previous intros which highlighted the conditions of the world and left you free to imagine your own character, in favor of this hamfisted shoehorning of their player character and his thoughts and wants into the world of Fallout.
It just further highlights that they don't understand how to write an RPG where you can actually play more than the role they have decided for you.
All that talk about varied playstyles and roles and what they really meant was "play as this guy, and listen to his boring voiceover work: he's a badass and the most important person ever so you'll like being him instead of being you"
Too many fanbois, not enough Ron Perlman's to go around? The end came pretty much as predicted, didnt it?
Hell, have Ron be the aged protagonist! What the hell were they thinking? The live action could have been done right after the intro with Ron. Better yet they could have let Ron narrate that and him speak about the protagonist.
