Fallout 4 has now gone gold

Back in the day we had the audacity to request all content in one go. How sinful we were back then... fools we were. Now we have risen above, and have gone up to day one DLCs!

Day 1 DLC? No. It's more of "Day-80-DLC-that-you-may-or-may-not-get-because-we-do-not-know-what-they're-about-yet, but-just-pay-us-30-USD"

Not exactly. "Back in the day" expansion packs were composed of content made after the game was released and sufficiently patched. Now most DLCs are simply bits and pieces cut out of the game proper and sold in a separate package later on. Or not even later on, but immediately, because fuck the customer.

Altho gotta give it to Bethesda, at least they don't do the EA crap with their DLCs. Sure they once relased a DLC with all the Assests improperly referenced like in a badly done mod (The Pitt) , but they have never tried to sell you a plot important character for 10 dollars on day 1.

Some are, not all. Most of FO3 and NV didn't do that and that is what we're discussing.

Actually, NV kinda did. As far as I know, Ulysses was supposed to be in the core game,(the idea was to make him a companion I believe) but due to time restrictions imposed upon Obsidian they didn't manage to squeeze him in and used him in the DLCs. Also, there's plenty of references to Sierra Madre in the core game(posters and so on), as if it was supposed to be there from the beginning.

Ulysses was cut from the game very early on. Avellone has said as much, also the Ulysses in the main game was much different than the one in the DLC.
The references to the Sierra madre were placed in as Foreshadowing, they didn't remove it from the game, that would really make no sense considering how different it is and how long it took to come out. And Obsidian made it clear they had put in Foreshadowing for the DLCs as they had the Story arc for the DLCs planned (Mentions of the Burned man by Legion NPCs, Ringo talking about New Canaan and Dead Money even dropped hints about Big MT).

True enough on Ulysses but having the story fleshed out and putting references in doesn't mean it was supposed to be in the base game. It was foreshadowing. They likely begin working on it before the base game as shipped but it likely isn't complete. This is different than going "Oh this character is fully done, remove him and sell him later."

Yeah, they made up a fake quest about Monte the Ghoul in a virtual reality simulation to cover up the dialogue they recorded with Felicia Day as just "cut content".

Nobody gives a fuck about your love life and breakups. I don't understand why journalists writing an article have to put shit about their personal life in there. Just get to the fucking point.
Btw, did any of you consider that Beth$isda might be pushing some $$ to popular game review sites to write articles in favor of their games?
And some of those comments made me want to skullfuck myself.

"I didn't like F:NV cuz it broke the fallout lore"

>Fallout lore
>Broke

WOOOOEEEE, that's gotta be one of the biggest idiots I ever saw, and makes a big ass post of it as well, wish someone went in there and teared his vulnerable backside a new one.
I love how he calls the Super Mutants "more comical" in FO/FO2. Just another idiot who obviously hasn't played the first two completely, or he has and just didn't understand the story at all, because if he did he would see that New Vegas is so much closer to actual Fallout than FO3 ever will be. Oh and that article was awful.

No one can be this stupid. How the hell did NV broke the lore when it is the CLOSEST Fallout game to the two first two Fallout games, LOREWISE?

It broke FO3 lore >:'I

Some people just don't recognize genres and such. I've had arguments that could be summed down by simple failure to recognize a genre. Like a friend of mine who feels that GTA is awesome, FO3 is awesome, and Battlefield is awesome, ergo the 3 games should merge, to become thrice as awesome. Everything GTA has, Fallout should have, cus GTA is awesome, and everything Fallout has, GTA should have too, like mutants and radiation, cus that's awesome.
And trying to explain that post-apo and urban-gangster are two different worlds, only grants me confused gazes, like I'm babbling about quantum physics or something, "I don't care about litterature, I just want the game to be more awesome!"

I hate people.
Man, this whole month has been tough people-hating wise.

Not all people though... just most people... It's temporary, it comes and goes!

(it would have been fun if all the replies were about those dumb bits about his personal life)
