Fallout 76: E3 Trailer

"Canon" is just a piece of paper that says "Beth owns this IP now"
To me Resurrection is Canon, Nevada is Canon; Underrail is Fallout 77 or something.
This is the exact same argument with Disney.
New "Canon" IPs may shit on the previous ones for sure but they don't UNDO the experiences you had.
I mean, technically that's Fanon. Canon is what the IP holder dictates what happened, Fanon is what the fan imagines what happened.

We could say AlChestBreach's Brahmin Hunter saga is canon but don't expect to see literally anything regarding it in any Fallout installment.

Enjoy that time when you bombed the NCR / Legion?

Fear not, Bethesda has heard your prayers and now you will have triple the fun. More and bigger missiles. Bomb your friends for good laughs. Do not worry, there will be no boring consequences for you to deal with in the future because in Fallout 76, the fun never ends.

Remember the UFO special encounter in Fallout 1?
Remember MZ?

Well... Remember the time you time traveled in a special encounter in Fallout 2?
Time travel is canon.

As is Gojira.

You should watch it just to get an understanding on how Bethesda's turning Fallout into something worse than Fallout 4. :hatersgonnahate:
See I just found that game really boring and never finished it. But this...oh boy.

You and your friends can play Fallout how ever you want
So everybody is a Stealth Sniper. And if GTA Online taught me anything, everybody is just going to try and kill you because everybody in a online game like that is a nerdy little bitch. That nuke reveal was just disgusting. lob ICBMs with 123 yard blast radius at each other because.

The obvious answer is that there will be a master-in-the-west out of Vault 87 that we'll beat and our faction will prompty forget about it, probably nuking the surface of Vault 87 and going 'we did it!'. And the mouthbreathers will gasp and go 'No no no' because dramatic irony.

Speaking of Betheshit. I am excited for Elder Scrolls VI, Doom Eternal, and Rage 2. At least they can fuck those up however they like because it was originally their's. Well except Doom, but they haven't betrayed Doom at all. They did it justice if anything.

I like how they skipped out on showing us any dialogue, leveling, questing, or friendly settlements.

Gonna go on a limb here and say that it's because the dialogue consists of a 13 - 15 year old child calling you a faggot over the mic, ad nauseam, because you stole his loot.

The definitive Rust experience.

Time travel.

Oh geez I missed the Super Mutants and I didn't even notice the X-02 Power Armor. I guess they have completely stopped giving a shit about lore continuity.

Maybe along the questline the Overseer has you investigating the source of the super mutants, and you find an intact Vault 87 (which is close to West Virginia, I guess) and in the end you nuke it to hell and back. But of course the radiation doesn't bother the mutants and a few dozen years later they manage to dig out of the rubble.
No, it doesn't make sense. But then again, what does?

It stopped making sense the moment "Kid in the Fridge" became a thing.

It is pretty funny though because they went all out on their creature-designs for 76. There's a giant walking bone-tendon looking monster that just wants to hulk-smash you, mutated bat, some weird creature straight out of a John Carpenter notebook, rogue bucket-bots, and others I'm sure. Super Mutants just seem completely lame compared to all of the other more interesting creatures.

On a side note, /r/Fallout is in a tizzy over the new game. Appears to be a very vocal group of people that are hating the multiplayer, always online aspect of the game. I guess people just wanted another loot and shoot simulator with the perverse illusion of RPG elements and dialogue choice.

Fo76 is basically just that without the illusion that you're playing an RPG.

Oh yeah Little Lamplight made no fucking sense at all. How do they even get new kids living in Little Lamplight?
Because whatever Bethesda thinks that sounds cool, they put it in the game. Kids that don't seem to age that can somehow survive against and push back Super Mutants, while using mediocre weaponry? Put it in the game.

People might hate on it right now, but on release day they still all gone buy and play it.

Who knows, might be some dumb fun with friends. Maybe just pirating it is an option.

Oh yeah Little Lamplight made no fucking sense at all. How do they even get new kids living in Little Lamplight?
Because Fuck You that's how. That the actual answer Bethesda gave people who asked. Apologistes will give you the standard It's a Game it's not 'sposed to make sense crap. Just one of the many things Bethesda can't grasp when it comes to time and scale since all of Fallout 3 has people acting like shit just happened 20 years ago despite it being like 200. See all that would've fit into this game time-line wise. Little Lamplight would work in 76 since you have a bunch of kids who went into a cave 20 years ago, now you got a bunch of 20 something Adult Children who are dumb as bricks but you would never see something like that because it's not fucking retarded. No see they removed all NPC's and you get quest from finding a fucking Note Book that sat a park bench in the middle of 20 years of Post-Apocalyptic Nuclear Winter. Why? because Fuck You, that's why.

It's sad how the art of worldbuilding and fiction writing has failed so much recently. Internal logic and consistency? Fuck that! Moral Themes and views and character arcs? Fuck are those lol.
