I don't care for F76, on its own merits, seems kinda fun, but it's not why I play Fallout at all.
I'm rather skeptical of Online Only games, especially a Bethesda Fallout Online Only game.
Even 20 years on, people still talk about and play the OG Fallouts and OG Elder Scrolls, there is still a mod community for Fallout 1,2 and Morrowind, okay it's not as big as it once was, but it's still there. Bethesda are also the same company who want you to play their game even after 8 years.
With all that it mind, if someone does play F76 and it speaks to them like F1&2 did to us, then will they be missing out once those servers go down?
I get this is a spin off and stuff, but it doesn't excuse the idea that this game has a very limited life span.
Elder Scrolls online I can almost give a free pass because it is an MMO, but they tried to pass F76 as a community led experience, not as an MMO.
Fallout 4, for all its faults, I can still go back to and will be able to even decades after release. But future generations are missing out on an experience they could like.
I have no doubt it'll be more of the same, but I just don't see it lasting for long.
With out buggy Bethesda games are on release and the fact that Fallout 4 was a huge disappointment to people, I can see F76 going down the drain very quickly, which is a shame for those who actually enjoy it.
