Fallout 76 now has $10 monthly and $100 annual subscription

I won’t at all be surprised if ES6 pulls an MGS V and releases half a game as a full price prequel before the real game comes out.

Difference is that MGS V was stellar, imo.

I was about to say they'll make a Fallout Battle Royal, but then I remembered they already added that to 76.

There was a time when I thought Fo4 was the pinnacle of bad ideas for Bethesda, that it was all up hill from there. Oh how naive I was.

I'm pretty sure during my attempts to defend Fallout 76 I said there was no way Bethesda would be actually stupid enough to add pay-to-win microtransactions or monthly subscription fees to the game. Looks like I was very wrong.

Allow me to make amends for my failure by posting a video dramatization of the recent events:

At this point it just basically everyone wondering just how much lower can Bethesda go and every time they reach a new low they outdo themselves a month or two later.

Honestly the best thing to do, Rich. Bethesda is going the same way as the rest of the world. Difference is that you can’t make a difference with companies like Beth. Kinda sad when you think about it.

"Half a game"
Ground Zeroes was 30 minutes long.
The Phantom Pain has an average play length of like 112 hours.

Also it wasn't full price. Iirc it was 30 bucks at launch.

My point being that you can get a brand new game (with full length gameplay) for less or equal used as you could Ground Zeroes, which could have been a DLC or DLC priced disc.

I was being intentionally generous when I said “half a game”.

I honestly don’t wanna think about FO76 being on my Facebook feed, along with all my offensive memes and shit. I feel like people will start to wonder if I’m ok, a la @RangerBoo mentioning them thinking it’s a cry for help.

The problem is that Fortnite, for as absolutely brain dead as it is, can claim that its microtransactions are cosmetic.

With the addition of subscription bonuses, 76 has been firmly pushed into the realm of pay to win.

The main problem with Fortnite is that every AAA gaming studio and publisher in the West wants their game to be the next Fortnite. It has stunted creativity in my opinion.

The main problem with Fortnite is that it’s CoD but just the multiplayer. Not only has it stunted creativity, it’s stunted the amount of content publishers are willing to put into their games, because Fortnite got that phat kiddie cash offering fuckall in terms of actual gameplay and content.

I wish I could say that shits a freak accident, but it isn’t. It’s the same reason Beth went to FPS; first person shooters are more mainstream and accessible than games that are more labor intensive, requiring things like a lore, and leveling system beyond “here sum gunz”, etc.

I do have to say though that Obsidian couldn't have asked for better advertisement for The Outer Worlds then this fuck up from Bethesda. Instead of playing this shambled and rotten corpse of a game that was once part of a great RPG franchise people are instead going to play a real RPG. Thanks Bethesda!

We should do another podcast. @RangerBoo

2019 Has been hold my Beer contest.

Honestly, after shitout 4, season pass, Price increase, shitty dlcs and creation club I had no hope left.

However, it's really bloody entertaining. Too bad it took 10 years for people to notice. Fallout 3 was The start of The fall.
