Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Nevada (extended)

There are temporary followers in Sonora but not permanent ones. Also a bit of an annoyance for me as well.

Then again, outside random encounters you don't fight humans or mutants a lot.

I am not playing Sonora but I have been watching dozens of the longplay videos on Youtube.
I have also been reading the Google Translate versions of the various dialogs.
Many of the people that will accompany the player will only do so until they have accomplished some task or reached a location.

One example is a Follower of the Apocalypse. When the player meets her she asks the player to escort her to a location where she can meet up with the other Followers after which she leaves.

Hello, I've started playing this mod recently and I'm having a blast. Its realllly good. But I just wanted to ask if anyone could give me some tips and tricks about Nevada. Like if you want money go there if you want to farm exp go here or like if you want some good armor this place is good if you want ammo visit here etc etc. Thank you in advance

No companions in Nevada. Crazy Edition adds a
dog follower in Reno

What an odd design decision...RIP my hopes I guess. Althouh it is quite unorthodox for Fallout games I must say. Did the devs ever give an explanation why they've chosen not to include any? Is the same true for Sonora as well?

There are companions in Vanilla Nevada, they are just to the end of the Vault Questline:
One eyebot that stays with you (if you have the play after storyline perk), and a guard that can be exploited to stay with you iirc. So depending on how you play, after half or the end of the game.

Sonora has mostly temporary Companions (read, they leave after a while when they reach their quest destination) with one relativly half/lategame exception again, wich can also easily be overlooked imo. xD

So yea, to get the most out of you companions, you want to get the Play after Endgame Perk and tackle all optional quests near/after the endgame, wich is sometimes strange ^^"

Can You explain how to exploit Sgt.Graves to stay with the player after the end of the game?
i tried to take him to a different map, however he always vanished, after finishing the main quest.

I myself can share a trick, I'm using to loot containers that sneak and stealthboy combined together don't help to loot.

1. on top of sneak, and stealth boy in item slot, one has to also give few forced drinks on to the loot guard. enaugh to drop perception to 1. with high sneak, the stealth boy will halve the detection rate to 0.5 and it rounds down to zero. so basically feeding the guard with 5-9 beer, booze or rotgut (or any of the new drinks that drop perception), and puting sneak and stealthboy on, one can basically acces guarded containers while next to the guard :D . only 3 exceptions to this rule. William in black rock, miss kitty, and SLC sherrif. Miss kitty can easily be kiled with stranglewire whie sneaking for the key to back room ( no change to plot while playing male), and nobody will notice, SLC sherrif can probably be killed too this way, but killing him gives bad ending for SLC. William on the other hand thows a red error float when tryng to "booze him" and he can't be killed with stranglewire because it has to be done from behind, and he basically stands in corner facing us.

Money isn't that hard to get. Once you get to Reno you'll have a couple ways to earn couple thousands.
High charisma males- jazzman questline, especially if you become a members of any of the 5 groups in Reno
High charisma women- stripper at the club
High unarmed- boxing

I recommend completing Missing prospectors quest in Reno as it gives you access to a pretty fun tool that lets you earn some money and get some unique weapons.

Armour- just buy a leather armour in Reno and ask a guy in railway station to upgrade it.

Thank you so much. Can you also help me with some problems I have?
1- How can I craft ammo?
2- Where and how can I get power armor?
3- Apart from reno, is there any other way to make money?

1- How can I craft ammo?

In Reno, one of the gang leaders (Thompson) has a gunsmith that can make you some more common ammo from cartridges and gunpowder. Later you can get an ammo press to do it yourself (handyman at railway station can get you one for couple thousands).

2- Where and how can I get power armor?

Two ways
Either bring parts to the mechanic in Salt Lake City and pay him 10k or assemble it yourself with very high Repair (you'll also need broken PA which you can steal from SLC or loot from dead PA user (kill one of 3 guys in PA).

3- Apart from reno, is there any other way to make money
Another option is Big Louis in Lovelock. You'll be hated by Cheyenne and some Reno locals (others will offer you a job) if you complete all his quests.

There're other options in Vegas and SLC but they require you to either have high skills, good guns or money.

Around the Wind of War area is a random encounter where raiders attack a soldier...help him or just kill the raiders after they kill the soldier, either way loot the goodies afterwards and sell them at the Wind of War base, rinse and repeat...

Hey sorry to bother you people but I have a question, again. Really sorry but could someone explain how does the nuka cola delivery thing works? I've got the license and I've been signing some deals but I'm not seeing any income. Do I have to set every single deal for it to work or does it work on its own?

I actually forgot how I dealt with this. Have you tried talking to the guy who gave you the license? Or have you completed signing the deals with *all* possible resellers?

You have to restock their vending machines first, you can buy Cola at the factory (get a car or Businessman rep perk to transport large amount of it).

You get Businessman for signing all deals, it's pretty great with +1 Luck and another discount for Nevada Express.

Yeah I got it working thanks everyone. Sorry but I have a problem again I have one deal left and it is cotton club in salt lake city but I can't find it. Do you know here it is? Oh and can you tell me how can I fix the car? Because I need to transport high amounts of nuka cola and just carrying them on my pocket is not very efficent

Cotton Club is the jazz club in Reno.
You can get a part for car from Poseidon Plant.

Yep completed and got the Perk thank you! And I have another question. So I got the Perk businessman I've heard that with this perk you can do deliveries can you tell me how?

In Salt Lake City in cola plant map there's a guy in warehouse ( building behind the mechanic from which you usually get power armor) talk to him and show him cola license ( you need to have it in inventory or he'll just throw you out) and say you want to purchase cola. He'll put some boxes next to mechanic's building from where you can do your cola purchase. There are 2 ways of distribution you can grab the cola yourself and drive it to all the places *or* simply order it and don't pick it up, then go to SLC caravan area inside the caravan building, if you've solved big louie quests properly or not at all you'll be able to speak with them, and hire them to send cola to their destination (although it probably doesn't work correctly in Crazy Edition) You have to rehire them each tile you purchase the cola. 3000 cola bottles per month is maximum you can buy from the warehouse so 750 bottles to each place ( don't worry if you You've done the quests in all of the places properly the demand will still be higher than what you can provide) you can ofc buy (or steal) cola from those 6 vending machines in SLC and add them to your cargo if you want but that's just a gimmick at the very late of the game.

......................................
on a side note does anyone have some tips on how to keep sgt.Graves beyond the end game just like the eyebot? He usually just vanishes after the endgame. I've read somwhere in this topic that it is possible to keep him. but how?

If I remember correctly, you have to get him, then park him outside of VC and get him again after the Endgame. But that was in an early Version, likely 1.0 (non CE), but haven't played in a long time, so don't know if one can do that anymore. And ofc since there is no timer whatsoever, you could just get him and roam the rest of the Wastes (at least I am very sure you could), BEFORE doing the complete Endgame.

Where the hell is the gas filter? Wiki says its in a bunker in the salt lake city but I can't find the thing in the bunker. I looked everywhere but no luck
