Kojima writing would have equal cringe but actually great moments and an overall theme, so no.
I really am losing hope for the Frontier right here and now. I am doing the last part of the first NCR questline and we get ambushed.
So, as any sane person would do. Instead of standing at the Bridge to get shoot at, I decide to run away. Instant kill, my head explodes, no warning, etc.
This combined with what I have read thus far, really makes me want to just plain simply murder both Legion and NCR, due to how terribly showcased both of these factions are.
I will give Crusaders a go, just for the sake of it.
PS: It gets worse. Idolized with Legion? I am beaten almost to death, haven't killed a single legionary, done nothing against in them playthrough. Imprisoned, put into a cell.
That's it, I am done. I'm doing crusaders for certain. Both the Legion and the NCR in the Frontier are complete idiots.
PPS: Nah, I am done with the mod. It's simply too stupid for me to handle. The modders really don't understand Fallout and it shows.
It seems we’ve established that the writing for this mod sucks.
What I really want to hear more about is the creators’ political views. Did they really say that if you support the NCR you’re a trump supporter? I thought these people saw the NCR as the “good guys”, with House and Independent Vegas being no better than libertarians or centrists.
I'm roleplaying one of my characters from FNV and avoided the NCR quest by taking that girl on the 1st mission to the bar. So far It seems ok. I'm working for a bar owner trying to get his wife back and the atmosphere seems really good. What the mod lacks in storytelling I'm trying to add with my diaries. In case anyone is interested, here's the link:
Even though several TTW team members taught them how to optimize stuff, they never listened and now this project is horribly optimized... The game will run out of memory because of the games's technical limitations and how unoptimized this is.
I checked, and the first thing I found out is that they have a 4K legion flag, with a 4K env mask... They also have parallax in most of the kit pieces... I won't even look into the rest of the assets.
And here are I thought that my 50 plugins are responsible for the project being unstable. Thanks Risewild.
Side quests are probably one of the better parts of the Frontier. Finding them? Now that's the hard part.
I'm currently just exploring around and talking to the people of Goose Hollow.
There are some sidequests in the NCR base too, but I havent tackled them yet.
you'd think with a mod team comprised of modders that have been modding new vegas for years they would know the limitations of the engine.
but it feels like they forgot in their grand ambition that gambryo will break down and lag when you have way to much shit on screen.
heck most people getting into modding know not to have to many quest mods as the game starts bugging out and having really bad texture pop in.
this and new california wanted to push the engine to it's limits like someguy2000 used to do. but they forgot that doing that breaks the engine and causes the mod to become a technical mess.
I think they are so used to restarting the game every hour it does not matter to them.
Speaking of engines, it's hard to believe that tes6 and Starfield will be using the creation engine. It's claimed (by themselves) to be their biggest leap in engine tech they've ever done. Makes me wonder what can be expected but its worth keeping in mind that gta5 was built off of a tennis game's engine. Yep.
Someone put their furry fetish in the game.
Also the lizard people are stolen unity assets too.
Why are Fallout mods so jank in comparison to Tes mods?
Too many coomer and tacticool modders, also NV can only be compared to Oblivion modding tech wise imo.
Might as well be a bought model.
i don't hate all new vegas quest mods but unlike say with the baldurs gate series i'm alot more picky.
alot are either to silly, to dark, don't fit the setting, or try to place dc elements/characters into the new vegas area when it makes no sense for them to be there.
the only time i was fine with that last one was in eliza by th3overseer as it was explained in a reasonable way. dude just went on a caravan. this isnt like death's last whisper where a talking deathclaw, a former enclave scientist , and a half human half deathclaw hybrid somehow got from dc to nevada with out getting noticed.
This kind of thing is probably why I won't ever play TTW. I don't like Fallout 3 and NV being connected. I'm sure I'm just being ignorant/stubborn and blind to the benefits of running TTW, but the premise rubs me the wrong way really really badly.
First I've heard of TTW. Is this made to make mods "transferable" between the two games, or just so they feel like one whole game?
Feels like one game- you can use a train to travel between Mojave and DC.
FO3 also gets NV additions- ammo benches, campfires, harvestable plants, iron sights, DT.
Also FO3 mods have to be converted before they work with TTW.
Anyway- how's the side content in Frontier?
I have yet to play Fallout mod with a good main quest other than Resurrection.
Sometimes I seriously wonder how you came to this website
Lurked semi constantly since '09-'10 around when NV was announced. Was too intimated by everyone at that age though and had never used online platforms to chat, only texted. Got bored at work one day and signed up.
