Fantasy Football '10: Revenge of the Festini

I just wanted to make sure you guys understood, I pretended Jay Cutler as my pick was a mistake. But really, I was looking at your teams and was thinking wtf, these guys are weak. So I figured the only way to balance it was by drafting a quarterback that would throw for negative points in 50% of his games.

Even though I'm sad I missed the live draft I pretty happy with my auto draft. It only pick 1 kicker and 1 defence for me!

There's no pretending. Any Cutler pick is a mistake.

Haha yea and Sander felt the graciousness to take the quarterback I wanted despite having the best in the league. Grrr.

ManWithNoName, you are quite possibly the awesomest fantasy football drafter I have ever seen. I salute you and your decision for your predraft rankings.

When are the games played?

The games are played weekly starting either on Thursday night or Sunday and ending with the games on Monday night. The first game of the season starts one week from this Thursday night.

Okay ManWith... So basically, Fantasy Football is your team's collection of players, and it tallies their performances during their games. There's no actual physical manifestation of them competing as we assembled them. So asking when the games start just sort of... doesn't make sense.

It starts with the regular season of football :).

And Sander, I thought about that, but just couldn't let myself do that on the principle of the matter haha.

Ok that makes more sence than what I was thinking of. Great now I feel stupied.

A trade you say? What do you have in mind?

Maybe a more in depth explanation is called for considering how inexperienced you are. Here's the schedule for the first week of the NFL season:

  • Thu, Sep 09
    MIN @ NO --- Superdome 8:30 PM
    Sun, Sep 12
CLE @ TB --- Raymond James Stadium 1:00 PM
MIA @ BUF --- Ralph Wilson Stadium 1:00 PM
CIN @ NE --- Gillette Stadium 1:00 PM
IND @ HOU --- Reliant Stadium 1:00 PM
DEN @ JAC --- Jacksonville Municipal Stadium 1:00 PM
ATL @ PIT --- Heinz Field 1:00 PM
OAK @ TEN --- LP Field 1:00 PM
CAR @ NYG --- New Meadowlands Stadium 1:00 PM
DET @ CHI --- Soldier Field 1:00 PM
ARI @ STL --- Edward Jones Dome 4:15 PM
GB @ PHI --- Lincoln Financial Field 4:15 PM
SF @ SEA --- Qwest Field 4:15 PM
DAL @ WAS --- FedEx Field 8:20 PM
    Mon, Sep 13
BAL @ NYJ --- New Meadowlands Stadium 7:00 PM
SD @ KC --- Arrowhead Stadium 10:15 PM
You have a list of players on your team - Peyton Manning, for example - who will participate in some of these games. On Sunday, September 12th, Manning's team (Indianapolis) will play in Houston against the Houston Texans. Based on how he performs in that game, he will score a certain number of points for your team. Every player you have in your starting lineup will also score points based on how each one performs in his game during week 1.

The week ends with the conclusion of the game between San Diego and Kansas City the night of Monday, September 13th. If the players in your starting lineup score more points than the players in your opponent's starting lineup, you will win your game.

Any questions?

Just one. During a players by week do you manually have to remove him from your starting rooster or does it replace him auto-matically?

By the way I'm not new to football. So you guys don't need to talk to me like I'm the speacial kid you try to ignor, just for future reference. :)
