First round of Fallout 4 Reviews

Ah well it seems after Bethesda paid for good reviews to the shills the truth from the user reviews seems to start showing, it's a shit game from what all of the reviews are saying. Games like The Witcher 3 are more deserving of a Game of the Year award then this garbage but I think i'll get it myself if I find a sale. I'm getting excited to see people shit on it, brings a tear to my eye.

Because Witcher 3 is more deserving this is automatically a shit game?

Pretty sure that "user reviewers" that are giving this game a 0 have not played it.

Trolls that haven't played the game.. brr..
Sure, no-one who has played the game could write anything negative about this masterpiece.

Dude, "anything negative" is not a 0.

I have said plenty of negative things. The game certainly has flaws. But giving it a 0 is just laughable.

As is giving 10, yet there's a huge amount of such scores. That's a way of expressing opinions. Those extremes counterbalance each other. Look at any game on Metacritic, there are always people who give a game zeros, but in the end, the average score is more or less representative. Again, look at the Witcher's score. There's a very small gap between the critics score and users. That's the information you should look for first. If the gap is small, then the critics reviews are well-representative of what's really happening. If the gap's big, then something's definitely gone wrong. Either the reviewers were paid or just being unprofessional and unaware of what the players really want.

Trolls, angry players or not, the gap between the users and critic scores is big and it definitely tells us that something is really broken in this game and the community isn't that pleased as expected. I believe, in some time we will see some increase in the scores after the initial wave of anger and fanboism calms down, but, again, I assume, it will be not more than 10-15 points.

I know nobody from the community that is this negative...

People have complains about certain flaws, but general opinion is that it's a good game with a couple of poor design choices... not that it's broken or trash.

These are some really great logical conclusions.

I get a feeling that you either haven't read my post or argue just for the sake of arguing.

Look at Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and New Vegas and then compare them to this..I don't know what to call it but from all the video leaks I had seen this is NOT a Fallout game.

I think the user reviews are also this low because of the hype of Fallouf 4.

Lots of people on the internet that don't like Fallout have a negative reaction on the hype.

Sounds like a worthy contender for 5 of my dollars in 2 years

This is exactly my plan. Which is sad and cynical and realistic and probably the most satisfying choice.

In the end, I'm glad I only spent about $5 on Skyrim because that's about how much fun I had with it. I feel sad (and a bit worried about) people for whom the Skyrim "wander around, talk to humorless people, and think of new places to put buckets" experience is more appealing than *anything* else they have to do. I would say "at least Fallout has dark humor" but...yeah. I keep Skyrim installed because I keep thinking maybe I'll take one more look to see if I can figure out why people like it at all, but somehow there's always something more interesting to do. Vacuuming. Laundry.

And I have to wonder: why does Skyrim keep coming up? Fallout is more of an FPS with a different theme. But when it comes to writing and the ability to tell a joke, all these Bethesda games are so much the same.

Hype? If they payed attention to the mediocre dialogue amoung other things in the couple of gameplay videos shown and looked at Bethesda's track record they would know what to expect. Already seen what they did in Skyrim and I just knew they would muck this game up.

I counted 48 10/10s and 50 0/10s, so yeah, the trolling seems kind of well balanced. Both scores would seem ludicrous when measuring the game on its own merits. However, considering all I've seen and read about the game, a 0 could be motivated if it's judged purely as a Fallout RPG, because it really, really isn't one. At the same time, I guess a 10 could be motivated if judged purely as a Bethesda TOS-formula game, because that it very much is.

Ahah. Hahahaha. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Check this shit out.

From Jim Sterling's review

"What I love most about the companionship of Fallout 4 is the fact that, yes, you can pursue multiple romantic partnerships and the game totally allows it. You’re not locked into a single relationship, and can actually maintain more than one without getting judged or upsetting anybody. This is certainly the first game I’ve seen – and arguably the first mainstream one overall – that simply allows for polyamorous relationships without making a big deal about it."

Is anyone surprised? Anyone at all?

"What i love the most is the feature of automatic crash to desktop. While others companies would just merely allow to keep playing forever, that game care about your free time, by reminding you to stop playing from time to time"

"What i love the most is that the level of writting in the game allow you put thought how you would write a story, what would you do to correct the flaws and inconsistency. You might even want to join communities to share your ideas of how the writting was bad. While other game would merely have a good enough writting to keep you in the game. Here, the flaws give you opportunity to take an active part in social medias."

"I can't help to praise the wonderfull reduction of choices and consequences. While other companies merelly depict the consequences of your actions, here the status quo allow to imagine yourself what the consequences would be, to expand the roleplay potential of the game. If you shoot that guy, you can now imagine that the npc are praising your for this, instead of being annoyed by them shooting at you".

"What is amazing with that game is the lower amount of dialogs option. Instead of being harassed by the writting and having to make choice, here the game chooses for you for a more laid back experience...."

Yeah ! I think i can master the Jim Sterling reviewing style.:newevil:

2 hours in and I like it so far, but it needs some performance patches which hopefully reduce loading times at least on the Xbone. I thought I would greatly dislike the dialogue system but it has one big upside in that conversations flow more naturally. As much as I miss typed dialogue it makes sense to not be able to endlessly repeat yourself or go back in conversations over and over.

I'm playing on hard and they at least took the healing over time thing from New Vegas. I wouldn't use Hardcore mode myself but I wish they had included the eating and drinking and sleeping requirements to survival for those that want it.

As for user reviews, who puts stock in that shit or any reviews really? Trolls can vote down stuff for no reason if they wish.

The bad dialogue, abundance of immortal NPCs, Dialogue cross, TERRIBLE AI and shallow leveling system makes it shit.

Oh, so you've been playing it for the past 14 hours, and you're an expert, right?

You obviously haven't played it, yet. You have no idea. The leveling system is not shallow. You've shouted for weeks about how terrible the leveling is, but it is actually more complex than you realize. You can't just max out your SPECIAL (you could, I guess, but it appears really stupid to do so at this point in my playthrough). You aren't forced to pick a role, and play that role, but you are rewarded for roleplaying, it's just more subtle and organic than is apparent before you actually play the game.

I'm not too far in, but this is the best Fallout game I've played since Fallout. It definitely has faults (I'm not a fan of the main story, so far), but I think it is better than 2, 3, and NV, so far.

I obviously haven't played it?

I can shoot a Minigun at level 2 and kill anythign I want with a Laser Musket without much penalties despite having no Energy Weapons or Heavy weapons Perks, I killed a Deathclaw with Fists, there is no roleplaying, you are always genric soldier dude, the game showers you with weapons and ammo and all perks are generic damage increases.

I am already in Diamond City, all quests have been Kill quests and the dialogue has been pretty dreadful.

Oh please, make more excuses and attack me instead of actually comign up with an argument, totally makes you not look like a fanboy.

Also I saw Wal say it's pretty easy, not for me. I've run into a group of blood bugs that wrecked me. A group of Gunners that one shot you, a horde of ghouls that were not easy to make it past, etc. Only on Hard and not even Very Hard or Survival.

Also I've had several charisma ways to change situations with a host of different dialogue options because of it.

4 = A Host of Dialogue Options!!!

Is there some way to just ignore a user's posts in this forum, when you get tired of them blatantly lying?

I am playing it on Hard by the way. I have no SPECIAL stat at level 10 and a mission left me with about 15 "Institute Rifles" and a lot of energy ammunition to spare.
