Hello Bunkermensch,

It has been brought up so many times, I still carry the dream myself and would jump at any serious chance to do so. (and I actually have but that is something else)

The problem is, getting people who really will stick with you to the end, and organisation.
Paid people who work during the day are a lot easier to deal with.

This is such a huge community, it must be possible. You are not the only one who is carrying that dream with yourself. There are many and I know there are many with talent.
A thread where possibilities, the what, the how, the who and so on is discussed would just be the first step.
I believe this community can pull such a thing!

Find some sponsors?

Non game-related sponsors though... Related ones tend to try and influence the creative process.

Start by plotting a concept, story, general guidelines and blueprints. Then, project your vision and enthusiasm on some capable people, telling them exactly what you want of them.

Creating a game, at first, needs little other skills than vision and drive. And time.

There is definitely good will on my side, but I wish sometimes I was so creative like Tim Cain, Chris Avellone and the rest of the gang.

Van Buren may not have been produced by the original team but it really felt 'Fallout'.
I myself am so poor at Americana :(

I have some new exclusive screens that I'd like to share with you guys.

Here is your character fighting against a bunch of raiders. Lucky for him, he's just found a nuclear shotgun. Time to explode some heads!

Oh oh! Looks like you ran into a super mutant. This is definitely a Fallout game, folks. I can even see everyone's favorite mascot, the Fall Out boy!

It's scary because it's almost first person. Duh! And you guys wanted an isometric game...

It's scary because it captures my current mental depicitions of Fallout 3 very accurately.

Third person, crosshair, mouselook, WASD to move around, SPACE to jump, ALT to go into slowmo (aka VATS), R to go into first person.

Oh yeah, let's not forget TAB for the PipBoy abomination to come up and show you a consolesque inventory with only four items listed per page a la Oblivion.

I worked for Fallout 3 as a contract artist, and i can assure you that you will not be disapointed :) im also a huge fallout fan , i played every single game and also got some mods for it , and come on bloody mess. enuff said.

From what i saw when i was working there , i was like " whoa...cool!" and was pretty fun to work for too, so dont worry guys, try to enjoy it and not be that bitter , its obvious that we cant return to the traditional isometric , the society changes, its like the folks that want to commit suicide because of the new transformers movie.

Give it a chance.

( i wish i could say more, but unfortunately NDA`S are a bitch )

Geez. Dudes. When you make a troll account, put some effort into it next time, allright?

Banstick.

Hello VDweller,

Hey, you're right, it does look like Resident Evil IV, I actually liked that game when I played it on my Game Cube.

I'd believe you if only it wasn't the exact same crap that was coming from Howard before Oblivion was released. I mean, I will never get over that because that feces dipped dagger cut me really deep. I've still got the scar, and when I slide my fingers over it, I can still feel the slice, its as if the skin is just thinner over there, and more painful.

My hopes for TES IV were rocket high - I was never hyped for any game before that one, and I mean DAMN. It was like being conned into buying some shitty timeshare and having $200,000 of fradulent charges deducted from your bank account.

So what little respect I had for you guys was taken away already by Oblivion, now with Fallout 3; well - it's hard to even visit your website. I'm sorry but no. I won't believe your claims that it won't dissapoint me. It already has.

History repeats itself. We see the signs, we see the end.

Whoa, there's something that hasn't been refuted before...

If a contracted concept artist tells us it's ok it must be so! People don't necessarily want "traditional isometric" as you call it, they just want something that resembles Fallout. See Van Buren which gives you a free-roaming camera, I'd certainly be OK with something along those lines. Bethesda haven't just changed the formula, they've thrown out the entire cook book.
