Lego's actually making a lot of games these days, they might actually be up for a post-apocalyptic romp. Well, minus the bloody mess - stuff, and sexual innuendo. And killing kids. Etc.

LegOut? Honestly a LEGO Fallout couldn't be more childish and whacky than Bethesda's approach out of the stupid gore.

Had surprising fun at the time with those games in split screen with my brother, too bad for the either bugged or Easter egg-like collectibles >:(

The last couple of ones I've noticed and read about. Seems that LEGO might be doing more games lately. It's not a bad company, have fond memories of the building the things with the blocks all kinds of stuff as a kid.

Some doomy stuff about the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan (that is now a smoldering wreck)

1) The Godzilla joke is old.
2) Nuking the place is not a solution.
3) Radiation from bananas is not comparable to man-made isotopes from nuclear plants.
4) The situation is not over and is on-going.... forever.
5) Where there is caesium of this order there is also uranium, plutonium etc.
6) There is no such thing as a safe dose of radiation. It's cumulative.
7) The Fukushima situation is the equivalent of 71,000 Nagasaki bombs going off.
8) Chernobyl pales in comparison.
9) People who think are concerned.
10) People who don't think will benefit from the work of those who do.
11) This is not a movie with a happy ending, or a movie with a sad ending that you can turn off and say it was just a movie. It is real.
12) The people of Japan are under a gag order and are imprisoned for talking about Fukushima.
13) Doctors in Japan are not permitted to tell their patient they are suffering from radiation poisoning.
14) In Canada and the U.S. they turned off the radiation monitoring sites right after Fukushima and raised so-called "acceptable" levels for humans.
15) A mass of radioactive debris is heading for the coastline. It's radioactive and it's coming.
16) The giant squid picture was a hoax.
17) The two-headed baby whale was not a hoax.
18) The seastars, sardines and now southern pacific oysters are becoming extinct.
19) A sarcophagus such as the one at Chernobyl will not work at Fukushima since much of the contaminated leakage is from underground contamination of the water table flowing into the Pacific.
20) It is predicted at this rate the Pacific will be dead in six years.
21) Isotopes in the ocean do not dilute. They disperse. They remain deadly.
22) Radioactive water has been and continues to flow into the ocean from Fukushima at the rate of 300,000 tons a day
23) GE owns the mainstream media and GE designed and built Fukushima on a fault line which has historically seen tsunamis
24) There are at least 3 cores that have gone into meltdown to China Syndrome. They don't know where they are. They don't know what will happen. It has never happened before. They built these plants without anticipating this.
25) They don't know what to do with the waste and in fact no nuclear plant has any decent method of disposing of waste. None of them.
26) 28% of babies born in California since Fukushima have thyroid nodules.
27) 40% increase in infant mortality rates in Western Canada since Fukushima
28) Tepco, a private company running Fukushima has admitted to lying about numbers and has made repeated appalling errors since it began
29) Homeless people, untrained in dealing with this are the main workforce brought in by Japanese mobsters to work at Fukushima
30) The rain in the northern hemisphere has been and is radioactive. We get to live with that until Fukushima is fixed. Radiation is cumulative.
31) Fukushima will never be fixed.
32) Tepco made a profit last year.

WE CAN ALL KISS OUR TWO-HEADED CHILDREN GOODBYE.

Doom on!

(Oh! Just FYI, This was written about 3 years ago, and Fukushima fucked up about 6 years ago.)

Games industry representatives haven't been shy about expressing their contempt toward used games in the past, but Obsidian's Chris Avellone has been outright vicious, expressing his wish that digital distribution stabs used gaming in its heart.

"Of course, one of the greatest things about digital distribution is what it does to reduce the used game market," he said. "I hope digital distribution stabs the used game market in the heart.

Never read this before. Didn't know Avellone had that viewpoint on used games.

The Lego movie was good because it wasn't just about 1 toyline and felt more like a celebration of creativity and connecting multiple generations.... now they are just doing a bunch of movies about specific Lego toylines, truly Hollywood is a master of destroying the soul of everything.

Seriously, go to Google Maps and go to street view right next to Fukushima, it's an overgrown ghost town, just like Pripyat. Street view images mostly from 2013 and it's overgrown then.

Anyone into hot chilis? I've been starting to buy them, I first got some wings sauces and now I'm buying the hotter sauces. They're an interesting thing, kind of medicinal effect.

I think I've used more hot sauces than Ketchup in my whole life. I put it in my popcorn if it's salty enough lol

I never actually played with Legos, only with the spin off lines like Bionicle and such, I Rarely built them like they were supposed to, had more fun finding ways of turning them into monstruosities.

Speaking of Toys I was searching on amazon some Transformers toys for shits and giggles and I realized that if I had kept some of my Transmetal Transformer toys from when I was a Kid I would have been able to sell them for insane prices. This is depressing, my Metallic T-rex Megatron is now worth 800 dollars but it has probably been recycled into plastic bottles at this point.

Had a look at Starcraft earlier.

Fucking hell, I have never seen such shamelessly blatant squalid plagiarism in my life.

I mean, for a start, there are Terran marines and Zerg, which are literally identical to two Warhammer factions, and then to top it all off the slogan is:
In the StarCraft galaxy, only one thing is certain: There will be war

Which is definitley not identical to:

"In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

It's only superficial, though. The overall universes are very different. There are rumours that Starcraft started out as a Warhammer 40k RTS, but those are false as far as I know.
But yeah, Starcraft took a lot from Warhammer 40k.

I wouldn't call StarCraft plagiarism. It borrows a lot and often walks on the thin line between homage and blatant stealing, but in general, there is enough original content in there for it to be considered, well, original. Besides, most similarities are just in the aesthetics, and even then, it's all very basic.

First StarCraft is a great game too. Can't say the same for the sequel, sadly.

Zerg campaign cinematics reeks of Alien movie more than Warhammer though:

Yeah, the Terrans definitely have that space trucker vibe going on. As I said, apart from superficial similarities (spess mehreens, tyranids, and elves IN SPEHSS) Starcraft not similar to Warcraft at all.

An Arabian restaurant close to where I work was burned down today after a low power petard was detonated in the Bathroom and it damaged the gas pipes causing an explosion, nobody died but 7 people got injured, I wonder if it actually was some islamophobia infecting our impressionable and culturally lost country or if it was just some douchebags playing a prank that got out of control.

interesting:
Dubbing_films_in_Europe1.png

Blue only dubs childrens programs, and uses subtitles/captions for everything else, no matter the language. After eyerolling vacation after vacation in Spain, visiting Portugal was a relief, TV-wise!
Red completely dubs, here Tom Cruise is a Bavarian, Cicilian or a full blown Andalucian.
Yellow is weird, here original volume is lowered, and voice-overs are put on top, often with only one or two voices. This kind of treatment is given to some of our olden-days childrens programs as well.
Belgium and Slovakia: Too lazy to even dub, and aquires dubs from either France, Germany or Czech republic.
Orange: more efforty multi-voice voiceovers, or simply resorting to subtitles (like normal people)
