I wouldn't say catching up, rather than having finally access to instruments that can measure it? I mean :

The idea that matter is made up of discrete units is a very old idea, appearing in many ancient cultures such as Greece and India. The word "atom" (Greek: ἄτομος; atomos), meaning "uncuttable", was coined by the ancient Greek philosophers Leucippus and his pupil Democritus (c. 460 – c. 370 BC).[1][2][3][4] Democritus taught that atoms were infinite in number, uncreated, and eternal, and that the qualities of an object result from the kind of atoms that compose it. Democritus's atomism was refined and elaborated by the later philosopher Epicurus (341–270 BC).[3][4] During the Early Middle Ages, atomism was mostly forgotten in western Europe, but survived among some groups of Islamic philosophers.[3] During the twelfth century, atomism became known again in western Europe through references to it in the newly-rediscovered writings of Aristotle.[3]

Took only 2300 years to find them.

Yeah, I'm aware of all that. Much can be said about observation, as opposed to complex theoretical math stuff.

We need spirituality to protect us from the Thelema-magick-wielding Alt-Right Nazis.

There's only one type of spirits I'm interested in:

Been practicing some Volumetric coloring. Monochromatic for now, will do some attempts with color next week.

@zegh8578 ,

read that you guys had a cruise ship in trouble, didn't sink though. Had a Finnish captain, lol, prolly drunk.

Lol the movie they are showing is Meg, a shark movie. Wonder who decided to show that to folks in a cruise ship about to sink.

Edit. Hmm, that could actually be a different ship, there's been two Norwegian cruise ships in trouble lately.

This could be from the latest one.

I love how chill we are in these crisis situtions, mostly out of some deeply seated sense of denial though

What crisis?

The boat seems to be tilted or something. Remember, even the smallest situations can reach crisis level on an individual basis. A single death, that is the world collapsing upon that individual and their closest.
We've had some fun ol disasters though in Scandinavia, most notably Scandinavian Star and Estonia (the latter particularily life-claiming)
