General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Holy shit, HOLY SHIT, the god damn bomb fetching case in Dead Rising is driving me INSANE.
That bastard Carlito chases you around in a milk truck while zombies are fucking everywhere. I keep getting on a motorcycle trying to get to the bombs as fast as possible, but that Carlito asshole keeps blowing the damn thing up with grenades.

I'm going to murder something.

I remember beating that mission the first time around by the skin of my teeth.

Getting to the final bomb by running on top of the crowd of zombies after getting Carlito locked onto a corner was honestly the closest I've ever gotten to thanking God for something.

For some reason lone stalkers are becoming aggressive to me even though I can't recall doing anything wrong to them.
Anyone having experience this before?

I finally beat it when I found a usable truck sitting in the tunnels that could actually last longer than a few minutes, but pretty much every boss fight in Dead Rising seems to be a close call, even Isabella on her stupid bike had me with one square of health left and just a lucky Katana swipe saving my ass.

Dead Rising. How I want to play it now that is being mentioned.
Though you're right about the boss fights unless you hit the gun store as early as possible. That softens the psychos up by a great degree.

I still remember the first time I was actually able to beat the convicts and their stupid jeep.

Let's just say that catharsis was reached with a few sniper rounds...

I hope Dead Rising 2 is as good.

On topic, I am playing inFamous right now and it's riotous fun.

"Plants vs. Zombies" - very fun and addictive. Now that's a game that's worth a purchase.

I've been loving it, I have a side that loves to just set things up and watch 'em go and it is very satisfying in PvZ when you feel like you are done, that your defenses are impenetrable. Usually that is when something crazy happens and you need to dig some plants up and put others down in panic, but it is really fun.

Right now I'm playing X-Men Origins Wolverine which is an exceptional example of doing nothing new very well... my problem is actually not the dejavu but the playtime extending sequences where you screw up, you die, and it takes a minute to load again.

Still as a comics fan this is a great wolverine game, he is tough, ruthless and just vulnerable enough to make you feel like you are in danger sometimes. Like you never lose a fight but you come close pretty often.

VTM:B - Ventrue playthrough. This game doesn't get old.

Other than that? Beta-testing a postapocalyptic MMO and playing Pharaoh+Cleopatra.

This game was a pleasant surprise for me, I was sure it would suck like most of the other movie games. I don't like comics, nor those X-Men movies. However, that's pretty good material for a videogame as it turns out. I had loads of fun slashing masses of enemies. It reminded me of Devil May Cry a lot, only I found it to be more fun. Gore fits this game really well, it's really satisfying hacking enemies apart.
My only complaint would be that you have to finish the game to unlock Hard difficulty, and Normal is often lacking in challenge.

Bionic commando.
Came out few days ago in Finland.
I am not very impressed.

I was actually waiting for this game, but when I discovered what it was about and some of the other problems I have decided not to bother.

I will get Bionic Commando Rearmed instead, rather a recreation of the NES game than an average sequel.

Playing inFAMOUS right now and loving every moment of it. Sucker Punch really nailed it dead on with this title. It is one of those games that when I turn it off I end up talking myself into turning it right back on for just one last quick mission.

Everything about it is spectacular. The platforming and building climbing never gets old. Jumping from roof top to roof top then looking out over the city to see a mugging happening or some street gang having a shoot out with cops then jumping down and start chaining off combos and throwing lightning everywhere is nothing short of epic.

The story missions are incredibly well done and none of them ever get old. The side missions unfortunately do repeat quite a bit but I was not really expecting much different from that. The entire point of the side missions is for experience and to clear areas of the city of criminal influence. Once you complete a side mission a certain % of the city on the map is cleared and enemies no longer spawn there.

I am playing a good playthrough right now, not even half done with the game but dying to jump in and try the evil side of things. All of my good powers are more focused but the evil powers are all about collateral damage and blowing as much shit up as possible.

Cannot recommend this game enough if you own a PS3. It is seriously worth a rent if anything else, the demo did not even begin to do this game justice.

Age of Empires 2 (Conqueror's Expansion);

Friggin' sweet. I'll probably still be playing this game when I'm an octogenerian. Perfect game.

I am playing Punch Out!! for the Wii.
And I am loving it. It may be because I am indeed a fan of the originals. It may not be. Who knows or cares. Simply because it's just plain fun. I just love it. Hearing that old theme again. Fighting glass Joe. Whatever it may be it's just so right.

I'm yet again drawn back to NecroVisioN. Thought it would be another, Painkiller clone, but I'm glad enough its not quite that. Another nice thing is the replay factor, challenge rooms and taking Shadowhand through from start has proven interesting. Rising dead soldiers to fight their own comrades was interesting.

Anyway here is a quick summary.
"Painkiller meets H. P. Lovecraft meets Medal of Honor in this vampire/zombie/demon bloodbath set in the Great War that goes at a breakneck pace, encourages full-on assault against huge odds and has a completely different range of weaponry and style of gameplay as you plunge into Hell." - summarizes the author.

Playing some DOOM 2 on Nightmare mode (Hardest) while waiting for The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky to hurry up and download.
