General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Remake or not, boring or not, RE5 for PC is really fun and fast paced game. I really enjoyed it. I was playing it over Hamachi for the last few days. The feeling is great and greater difficulties are more rewarding when playing with another person. Five stars for this game from me :)

Yup, Good old RE4...i doubt i will ever bother playing RE5 from what i have seen, it looks like a cheap copy of RE4.

It's pretty much more of the same, which for me is just fine. Overall inferior to RE4 but still a very solid game in my opinion. I just wish they copied inventory system from RE4, new one tends to become a pain in the ass on the number of occasions.

One of the first things I noticed in the game was how kickass the inventory system is. I don't think I've ever seen a game where you got the chance to arrange your inventory like that. Certainly one of the greatest inventory systems ever made, in my opinion.

Yep, they made everything with better graphics and a new type of zombie but for the rest its a remake.
How faithful is it to the original? If it's just an exact copy, then I'll probably pass. I haven't played it in over 10 years but I beat it so much back then that I could write a novelized version of it from memory. But if it has some neat extra content, maybe the ability to play through another character's point of view or whatever, then I might give it a try.

Mercenaries 2...

Really mindless but extremely fun.

Thought I would hate it but bought it anyway because it was 5 bucks. Turned out to be really cool in the end !

Currently only playing the Power and The Glory mod for GTR2 and GTR Evolution. Just finished a hillclimb track with a formula 3000 - the most intense gaming experience ever. It's mighty fun, but a bit tyring since you're constantly on the edge making sudden adjustments to the wheel and pedals in split seconds...

Silent Hunter 4: wolves of the pacific.

On a mission i spotted a carrier group, immedietly went to periscope depth, and with careful aiming managed to sink 2 battleships and even a carrier.
Needless to say, japs were pretty pissed, but i managed to get back to pearl harbour by manouvering like a psycho after i sunk the carrier.
Good times.

I never managed to master the manual targeting in Silent Hunter, or rather the positioning before that. So i would often attack merchant ships at night in stormy weather by heading straight at them while being surfaced :D. A few time the weather was so bad that i actually crashed into the enemies merchant vessel

I have uninstalled Fallout Crashtics after it froze 4 times in half a hour. In the main menu...

Now I'm playing X-Com3.

Cutting people up in Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Can't believe I'd never heard of it until recently.

What do you think of it so far?

I like the variety in levels but it's story is not as strong as that of Jedi Knight Outcast.

Sadly I think we will never see another SW game like these again.

At first I was disappointed to see Kyle absent, then he shows up with skywalker and I was quite pleased.

I'm just starting the second set of missions, so I'm not too far in; but yeah the story doesn't seem that interesting. Oh no, cultists are sucking up darkside energy with a staff.

I'm very thankful that it skipped the bullshit parts of not having a lightsaber though (shooting non-instant projectiles at strafing stormtroopers makes me rage). The character/lightsaber customization was cool as well.

The only thing I don't like is the lack of a first person lightsaber view. After playing through all of outcast without leaving first person, saber combat in JA seems to lack intimacy when I'm watching it from a floating camera. I'm also getting weird FPS drops down to the 20s when a ton is going on, which didn't happen in outcast; and shouldn't happen on this rig.

Finished Dark Sector, and i must say that although the gameplay was great the game suffered from a very very VERY crappy story.
I personally enjoy a game with crappy gameplay/good story more than a game with good gameplay/crappy story.

Playing Crackdown now, doesn't really have a story either but it's mindless fun...and good graphics too!

Awesome. Not only am I excited to play the game, now I can't wait to beat it. On a side note, how are the other two resident evils for gamecube? I played a small bit of the one on the train and enjoyed it fairly well. Is the other one a remake of RE1?

They are worth playing you are a old RE fan.

damn, i am getting bored of crackdown. i also tried playing Bully: scholarship edition but damn, the pace of the game is so boring. now i am left with almost nothing. don't know what'S worth playing now. I would like to play Batman Arkham Asylum but the price is too high now, the same goes with Wolfenstein 09.

Serge, just force yourself to pick up RE5. If you actually managed to enjoy crap like Dark Sector, you'll certainly like this one. Then wait till the price for BAA drops, it's a really good game, at least on Hard it is. And I really think you should skip the new Wolfenstein.
