General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Playing Empire: Total War right now.

Pretty soon I'll be picking up Napoleon: Total War though, since all I've heard is that it's a much better ETW without all the bugs.

I just finished Kotor 2 with the restauration patch. Still a good rpg and the patch added alot of stuff.

Fallout 2. I just encountered Keeng Ra'at and killed him in my first turn with a rock aimed at the eyes, scoring a critical hit for 1 hit point. :D

Is E:TW any good? The last Total War game I played was Rome. I loved R:TW.

It's pretty fun, I've been out of the Total War games for a while as well, but this has been a pretty good experience. Only thing is, I've had people telling me to grab Napoleon when I can, saying it's got the good gameplay that Empire has, just expanded some and with the overall game made smoother. So if you don't mind another $10 it may be a bit better to go with Napoleon.

I'm playin Mass Effect 2. This game totally rocks! Best RPG ive played right afer Fallout. I already play it for the second time and it never gets boring!

Tried to play episodes from liberty city but it is so horribly laggy I decided to wait for a patch.

It seems to have the same performance as GTA4 1.0.6.0 patch, which supposedly makes performance better for users with high end pc's, and worse for us with mid end pc's. Rockstar is starting to seriously annoy me now with this shit. It's still playable on my machine, but damn.. shouldn't they be making performance better for slower machines, not super computers? I guess not.

GTA IV ran excellent on the hightest settings (except viewing distance) on my computer with patch 5. This latest patch makes the game and the dlc laggy for a lot of users with both high and low end systems. There a people with core i7 975 cpu's who can't play with decent FPS now...

Well fuck, I was running GTA IV with medium textures and both distance settings including vehicle density in 20's with everything else on high with 25-40 FPS and still wasn't complaining. :) Anyway, I've just installed 1.1.1.0 patch for Episodes From Liberty City and it did improve performance, so I suggest you try that out too.

I am watching god of war 3 on youtube right now. And thats probably almost like playing it ... since games are more or less interactive movies today anyway

Metro 2033 and Operation Flashpoint 2.
Metro is decent except for the fact that the gas mask mechanic can be severely annoying.

Just finished Paranoia for Half Life 1.

This is a pretty well done mod for people who might not be into the 'business'.

A bit longer and released a couple of years ago, I could see this being sold as a budget title.

Sam and Max Season's 1/2/3, got bored halfway through season 1 a while back but with the release of Season 3 I've decided to push ahead and Season 2 is a lot better.

Is anyone going to pick up Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii? The EU release is this Friday and might be cool to hook up with some NMAers to go on a hunt.
