General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Morrowind. Oh the joy of playing Morrowind. RPG Codex can eat a few dicks for all I care, Morrowind is great.

A lot of people at Codex like it. I don't. Not vanilla version anyways. I did have helluva fun with it once I applied a dozen mods though. Eventually the tedium of hunting for even more mods got to me, now I wouldn't bother reinstalling the game because of how long it would take. I should've made a mod pack for myself.

The main thing I find fun about Oblivion is installing mods, I barely ever actually play the game.

Currently playing Morrowind as well. Thought I might as well try to actually complete it for once.
Also downloading Alien Swarm, 'cause it's free. 8-)

I'm actually enjoying Fallout 3 a lot at the moment, thanks to mods. which makes me dislike Bethesda even further because it just proves that if they cared enough to put some thought and effort into their games they could make them a lot of fun. the writing is still crap either way, unfortunately.

yeah. As soon someone would make a mod which changes the writting and voice acting (story) in Fallout 3 even I could enjoy the game somewhat :(

It's embedded, it's called Uninstall.exe.
Years of hearing that joke whenever modding comes up has dulled the punchline. Seriously, everytime on 4chan.

Anyway, planning on trying Dragon Age soon.

Better hope you have really shitty taste in music, just so you could enjoy it more.
I never listen to video game music, unless it's really good like Morrowind or any Nintendo game. I usually just turn my radio on and listen to stuff from the 60's and 80's instead of the game music.

Hello people,

Well I have given Transformers: War for Cybertron on the PC a try and to be honest... well I find it rather average in general.

Sure it looks nice and the designers have put some great work in the details, looks and backgrounds, but gameplay wise; this has been done before.

I am going to take some flak from people who do like it probably, and I am trying to be fair, but I also feel I should stick to my opinion.

The gameplay is a mishmash of various other action games we have seen lately including the FPS games such as Halo.
Sure this game has a health bar, but rather than riding a vehicle your character is the vehicle.

I think its probably a great game for die hard transformer fans (I am a fan from way back just not as die hard) but outside that it doesn't really do anything different.

^ This. I tried the multiplayer portion, felt like a copy+paste of Gears of War. I'm sure the campaign isn't bad, but gameplay is just... meh.

EDIT: I've also dropped every game to beat Serious Sam: The First Encounter. God I love that game, so simple, so fun. Shoot shit and collect artifacts in ancient Egypt.

Donkey Kong Country 2 for the SNES. Just bought it a couple days ago at a pawn shop for $20. With the box, game manual, Nintendo pamphlet and Nintendo Power ad Star Fox poster. Didn't pay a fortune like I would on eBay.

I never managed to find all the dk tokens..hunts me till this very day. maybe I should try against, again..

Played Alien Swarm through twice today. Great little game, if you can find players with sufficiently elevated IQs.

I hope they come up with more campaigns fast, because this was over way too fast.

Valve could've easily charged something for this btw... Slap some video cut scenes etc on the game, and you've got a decent discount game.

After finishing System Shock 2 I just went on to put a bunch of hours into Age of Empires 2 again.

Goddamn I love custom map-making. 8-)

Played the free episode of Sam and Max they have on Steam. I loved it, a whole lot of fun, definitely gonna try some of the other episodes later.
