General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Bit tired of New Vegas (200 hours in, so I figure it's about time :D). Got myself a fine new desktop for a outrageously low price, and damn does ME 2 look great on high settings. Made me feel like replaying it.

Also, got Borderlands and Assassin's Creed 2 as gifts. The former is kinda nice, I suppose, but really repetitive. Go in this scrapyard and kill these dogs or masked dudes and take their stuff. At level 26 and starting to be bored. Creed is great, however, massive step up from the original, but why the dev team decided to have such a ridiculous story for the series is beyond me.

Yeah Borderlands is fun but repetitive, I found the shorter DLC such as The Zombie Island of Dr Ned therefore more entertaining as it does not have to take hours.

General Knoxx is basically more of the same of regular Borderlands but the new lands and vehicles are nice.

Clap-trap's New Robot Revolution does not completely live up to the previous DLCs but it is still entertaining to go through once, just that the ending seems sort of taped on, as if the developers were in a rush to finish it.

^ I found Knoxx to be the worst DLC just because of how repetitive it is. Drive car to point A, take out a bunch of soldiers, assassin encounter, disable roadblock, rinse and repeat. The new stuff and loot was nice, but the areas themselves felt pretty uninspired.

Yeah the driving did get tiresome very quickly.
In that way I enjoyed Zombie Island and Robot Revolution more enjoyable as you did not have to use vehicles.

Hahahaha! I was playing Deadly Premonition now and suddenly at 00:00 o'clock all the fire works started and i was playing this part of the game where agent Morgan is starting the profiling...and he suddenly said: "I can't focus, to much noise!"

Started playing Mafia 2, it's extremely fun, i'm a really liking the DLC's especially the Joe's Adventures one, I like the dlc's are set on the plate a different way to the main game:
Mafia 2: Third-Person Shooter
DLC: Arcade Style Overall Fun

Reinstalling Divine Divinity. Gonna focus more on the Survivor branch this time around, not sure yet what else to focus on or what type of wpn to pick.

Expecting loads of fun out of this. Just finished Divinity 2 DKS and just HAD to reinstall the original. Can't wait to see what they come up with for the third game. I hope we can finally get a chance to kick some Demon of Lies ass again.

I never liked Divine Divinity, basically because that dungeon in the first city (with all that skeletons) is so huge and frustrating.

Are there any good roleplay moments in this game?

Red Alert 3 (finally got cheap enough for such a piss poor game, playing just for some soviet lulz)

Mass Effect 2 (slowly scanning planets until resources are 100% depleted, hehehe)

Dawn of War SoulStorm (Imperial Guard was announced for the next Dawn of War 2 expansion, so I'm getting that Guard vibe back already)

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (a race now and then when I'm bored, but man... damned game is a fucking cheater on corners ¬¬)

Ah yes, the first dungeon was a bit over-the-top. I forget if it was mandatory or not, though...

The game is not Planescape, but it's kind of an anti-Diablo. It's an iso-aRPG that's not a Diablo clone. I think it's a great game if you've always wanted to play sth like Diablo, but ardently hate Diablo.

So if you mean "good roleplay" as in Planescape or FO-style controversial c&c - then the game isn't that deep. On the other hand, it still has great writing and a carefully built world. It can be overwhelming at first, but becomes addicting later. It's up to you what you value more, but there's definitely more long dungeons coming, and lots of fighting - it's an aRPG after all. The endgame consists of several maze-like dungeons with lots of puzzles.

-----------------------

I'm staying with a family with teenager kids for the holidays, so I've been playing lots of Halo: Halo 1, Halo: Reach. I still don't get why the series is so popular. The campaign for Reach was one of the most uninspired shooter campaigns I've experiences, both in terms of story and gameplay, and the multiplayer is one of the most unbalanced.

Finally getting into New Vegas, doing some of the first quests around Primm and NCR. I'm trying to do a lot of side quests beofre movie directly into the main story (which is the opposite i did with Fallout 3 before Broken Steel). i'm really liking hpow they're portraying the NCR so far and my first "encounter" with Legion (Nipton) was pretty intense.

Shaping up to be a great game :D

At this point in NV, I'm really annoyed with NV. I did all the side quests possible, and now I'm 30 with barely starting a main quest line. I'm gonna shoot myself... Damn level limit...
