General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Digital Devil Saga.
Is not as ball kickinng hard as some people told me, I was expecting to die every boss Fight, yet I have only died against two random encounters that used a that bullshit strategy of "Psycho Rage" "RAGE" and getting like double the turns I can.

Playing the Blood: Post Mortem episode, which is the last one left to play. Been truly fantastic game. And some sc2 laddering every now and then.

Currently spending most of my time with Civ5. I've heard that Civ4 with both expansions is the better game (more complex) but I'm having a blast with 5, the first Civ game I've played since 2 with all of the expansions. 4 is on my list to get and play.

Don't listen to the haters. Civ5 is a fantastic game that's a lot of fun. It may be a bit less versatile and deep than Civ4 with all expansions (mostly just because it doesn't have any expansions yet), but I can almost guarantee that you'll find combat clunky and annoying if you go from Civ5 to Civ4.

Last but not least, I have the Witcher which I haven't installed yet.

You haven't played Witcher yet?! Blasphemy!

Manic Digger, its the opensource, free-to-play version of MineCraft...

sure, its not as well developed, but its great to sit and waste time with!

But don't you want to support indie developers by paying for Minecraft itself?

Thinking about picking up Rome: Total War. Not sure yet. It is only $10 though and the new machine can play it. Don't laugh. It took me a while to afford a decent machine. A decent machine by seven year old standards.

I'm worried that they'll come in chunks as DLCs given their current rip-off DLCs. I mean fuck, $2.99 per scenario, $4.99 for the Babylon Civilization (ie a special ability, a special unit, a special building, and some voice acting), and $7.49 for two Civilizations and a scenario. I really hope that they decide to go with the classic expansions approach but I think the DLCs create legitimate concern.

I'm a huge fan of the shift to hexes, many of the hardcore Civ fans like to minimize the change but I really like it. I also like the new social policies trees, even if they could have kept in religions and governments as well.

Black ops.
The number of multiplayer maps was a disappointment for me as was the lack of variety of layouts (no big open areas like in Modern Warefare 1). Add to it the knowledge that all additional maps with be DLCs and you have a fucked product. That all said, I enjoyed it until it started crashing regularly on me (think it was my video drivers).

Frankly, I haven't been following Civ5 updates since the game's release... That DLC situation is quite screwed up indeed. I'm hoping that there'll eventually be an expansion or special edition that incorporates all of that extra stuff into one release.

Deadly Premonition sure has one of the best stories ever told in gaming history, that's for sure. This game just climbed up my Top 10 Games list.

My GPU imploded so while I'm waiting for new parts, I'm replaying PS:T on my wife's computer. I also recently started student teaching which means I'm extremely busy, so it's relaxing to come home to PS:T and relive some old experiences whenever I have some free time.

There are plenty of mods as of now that balance the game + provide way better maps than the stock game if that's what you're into.

^ Look around. I don't have a specific link anymore, but I've used config file edits to make the camera a lot less annoying. Reducing the sensitivity by a lot also helps.

There's also a mod that makes 3rd-person view more comfortable to use, if you're using that more than the strategic view.

The main campaign is more or less great until the last dungeon+ending (yet another case of rushed release, apparently), and MoTB has a great story (even if some gameplay elements got comparatively dumbed down). SoZ is completely boring, though.

Started playing Dragon Age Origins. So far seems good, though I've just finished prologue.
Many people complained that the graphics is crap, but I find it ok.
Writing is good, but the story is yet to unfold.

Playing the Origins DLC now. Disappointed as it is far inferior to the ME2 one, the only decent one being the Golems Of Unpronounceable Name because of the best boss in the series yet.

Also, Crysis Warhead. It's more linear than the original but I can push graphics to highs with no slowdowns this time and damn does it look awesome. Gonna replay the original too after, I love this game.

I might pick up the complete Origins pack for PS3, I like Mass Effect enough and Bioware makes pretty good games, I just wish they would g back to their original RPG ways.

Figures that when I finally get into RPGs, they seem to be changing for the worst, or according to some people.
