General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Playing Jurassic Park: The Game on PC. I love the story, enjoy the graphics, but I really hate the game mechanics. I'd probably finish it for the story, but it's really not my type of game.

I was looking forward to that game but I stopped caring when I learned it wasn't going to be a real point and click adventure but a QTE filled Heavy Rain type "interactive movie"/ game.

I tried out the Anno 2070 demo today but unfortunately it always crashes to desktop when I try to start one of the missions. The menus and music are great though :(

Will need to try out the demo, I really like the Anno games but damn Ubisoft protection.

Currently running with ma 3rd Street Saints on the 360. Short game but what is there is very good.
Tiny weapon selection compared to SR2 though.

Started playing NIER today. Seems to be an interesting japanese Action Adventure game. Sort of reminds me of Zelda games.

Well, I'm off to play Prototype at the moment. Still to solve the resolution problem, but I played Assassin's Creed before, and it was a somewhat rewarding experience.

Prototype, on the other hand, seems more like a game for the younger me (like that Hulk game), because I'm not that interested in going around slashing people anymore, at least not in unfair rules.

Sam and Max, Season 1. I bought it two years ago, couldn't play it on my rig (which will run Skyrim and other modern games), but I can't get the settings right to get it going on my gaming rig.

Installed it on my netbook, works perfectly.

Ain't that a kick in the head?

I changed PCs two months ago, I was playing Sherock Holmes Awakened but now that I try to play it on my new sexy PC for some reason it suffered a HUGE frame rate drop, I am basicay playing a Slideshow and I don't know why, it was working on a 4 years older PC that could run New Vegas on High, so I have no idea what is going on. Even older games seem to be working just fine

TES Arena

Huh lol, tried playing it, got annoyed by the emulator and strange controls and quit in rage.

Yeah felt some frustration at the start, after you get used to it it just feels like any other game.

A problem you might be having is that the emulator only permits 3000 CPU cycles, CTRL+F12 will increase that and give the game normal speed- try it somewhere between 12000-16000 cycles.

The atmosphere is pretty good so is the music lol

Thanks. I'll try out that. Maybe I just didn't feel like playing it ;)

Perfectly understandable, Arena had (/has) a terrible control scheme. But as Token-not-found said, you may get used to it after a while.

I'm playing Empire Total War: Road to independence (DLC).

So far it's basically a streamlined Total War experience that starts with the Jamestown settlement and presumably ends with the emergence of the USA as an independent power (as the title suggest :P).

Very enjoyable and very easy on the eyes and ears.

Yes it has layers upon layers of DRM for that special feeling of being treated like a criminal for buying their game :(

Played the second Diablo again some years back. It was quite enjoyable, but towards the end the game became a little bit too boring so I never got to finish it. I did stop at the very last location. I needed something like one more quest, lol.

Whenever my hussie gets on me about not reading books(I read articles instead) I just tell her about stuff like PS:T's 800,000 word count. That's at least 10 friggin' novels.
