General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

A *lot* of COD4 multiplayer. I've actually gotten so good at it that I have to nerf myself with the lamest weapons, and I still have the most kills in each round.

 yeah

14 euros for both Crackdown and Call of duty 4. The COD4 dvd was slipped into the pages of the Crackdown manual and the COD4 manual was just there, behind the crackdown manual and the map...

I guess it was probably an error from the previous owner or from the store. I don't know. It was my lucky day 8-)
Wow ....I mean Call of Duty 4 ain't just an old game !
thats some serious bargain ! Enjoy ! :D

Well, I've just finished Call of Duty 4. I hated it so bad :?
I was so fond of the first two games though...
Playing Arcanum and Crackdown at the moment.

why that ?!
I kinda felt that it was very good ...and the story was also very interesting !

I don't really know. It felt like it was a lot more scripted than the first games ( which were already very scripted )and the graphics were very uneven. I enjoyed some of the missions but didn't like most of them. While I DO agree that the storyline was told in an interesting manner I didn't find it to be very interesting. I don't know, I just didn't like it.

Or maybe is it because I've played the first two games on my pc and this one on Xbox360 ? It just does not feel the same at all. Did not feel as involved as in the two first games.

To be honnest with you, I'm searching for someone who hated Blacksite enough to exchange his game with my copy of COD4 without the box...( cause yeah, I actually LOVED Area 51 and enjoyed both demos of Blacksite despite all the catastrophic reviews )

I'm playing Entomorph - Plague of the Darkfall. It was the first PC action-RPG and probably the first post-apocalyptic game that I ever played.
I find its setting interesting, but I dislike the horrible interface and action combat.

Don't, really. It's really bad. Also, there is absolutely nothing connecting it with the first Area51.

BTW, I have completed all SMG challenges in COD4 multiplayer and have unlocked the golden Uzi.

Yes, that's right, the golden Uzi.

What is so bad about it ? Is it because of all the glitches or is it that it is uninspired and boring ? Is the game worse than what was shown in the demos ?

I haven't really played the demo, but yes, uninspired and boring pretty much sums it up. There are a few interesting (parts of) levels, but all in all it plays, sounds and even looks (despite UT3 engine) bad. The weapons are boring and don't really feel realistic, the enemies are stupid and uninteresting and most of the levels feel... well... boring and uninspired.

Baldur's Gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal, baby!

I decided to swap Keldorn for Sarevok. Amusing, and having a brother I killed not long ago as a teammate watching my back is... reassuring.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been the focal point of my life since wednesday.

It is such a good game. The box, get this, the box is actually a hardcover book doubling as a manual, which is itself a travel guide to San Andreas! Woah! I'm in love.

Games I am playing on the moment

Psychonauts
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Super Mario Galaxy
Darwinia
Galactic Civilizations 2
Halcyon Sun

ive been playing a number of games for the first time.

arcanum(got it off ebay, very good but i wouldnt say it was the best, i dont know why you guys complain about the combat it isnt even that bad..)
kotor 1( i played the seacond one but only found a pc version of the first one today, its average.)
command and conquer generals(soso, better then most of the old command and conquer games and they were average also)
command and conquer tiberium wars(best command and conquer so far.)

i find arcanum is way to easy though, i mean im playing on combat as hard and im a tech user. i went through msot of the game using a shotgun and i got my elephant gun from some poachers. btw virgil is cool and all but he sucks, i have to reload so many times because he dies. i dont have anyone who can join my party i let most of the chars in the game just die when they died. Dog is amazing though, i really hope i dont have to be evil to get the guys in the void though, otherwise im gonna be fighting the last boss short handed, im at the part where you have to get a ship to go to that island.

I fucking loved Vice City, but the overly retarded story of San Andreas killed the game for me. I don't give a shit about a bunch of hoodrat motherfuckers who hate some other hoodrat motherfuckers. I hate gangbangers in real life and I hate them even more in videogames. The game was good, but I can't play it without a decent story,ya know?

Anyway, I played Rainbow Six Vegas in Realistic/co-op mode last night.

I just beat system shock 2 and am thinking of picking up arcanum again.

I considered giving x-com a try, but the graphics are making me wary of investing any time in it. What makes the game worthwile?
Also, is Syndicate any good?

Atmosphere, tension, music, combat. The interface is pretty crude though...

Syndicate is a cult game. It's very playable but sometimes is annoying due to lack of transparency of buildings.

Eh, I think I'll just skip em and play Arcanum again, but this time maybe I'll beat the game :P

Last time I played Arcanum I only got halfway through, it felt sort of clunky.
