General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Braccus Rex was a nightmare to fight but man did it feel good to finally beat him and his four servants. I do advise carrying a bunch of barrels around for future levels though. One could be surprised by how versatile an oil barrel can be.

I did, but now that i think about it, i could have done even better! I should have put the oil barrels in the front (as i did) AND some water barrels in the back for Braccus, since he immolated himself, which healed him.

I do love using barrels though, in other games like POE, some difficult foes need cheesing tactics, where you try to find some exploit and it feels a bit artificial using them, however here, even though barrels seem to be a bit like cheating, but it only works if you use them intelligently. So it feels more like a cheat which crafty source hunters would use to outsmart a clearly more powerful foe, rather than a cheesing exploit.

That's why I always have one strong character with telekinesis items with me. The distance I can chuck barrels with that combination never fails to amaze me.
I'm looking forward to whatever improvements Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be making to the formula (and it seems that there will be improvements according to various sources).

Outlast. It's a great game. Great atmosphere. Lotsa nice little touches here and there. Love the concept of using a cameras night vision to see in the dark. Can't wait for the sequel.

Never heard of that game. I will have to google it now because of your post.

...Pokemon Go
Zero Time Dilemma
Overwatch
Fallout Resurrection

Star Ocean 5 went in time out after a huge spike in difficulty, that I don't want to grind.

Recently Finished Witcher 3, and both DLCs and finally got around to "Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons" (really good)

How does Resurrection compare to 1&2? I've downloaded it but haven't installed it yet.
As an English user the translation isn't perfect but that's fine. Game itself I wouldn't say is better than 1 or 2 in any way really, but it honestly feels like a fallout game. It is a bit crude rather than mature.
Overall I'm enjoying it, the writing and the quests could of used some fleshing out. Killing is the solution to most quests so far.

Playing Wasteland 2. I never really got into the first WL game (tried it only recently and found the basic combat really tedious). But as a big fan of FO 1 & 2, I backed WL2 on Kickstarter but for some reason never got around to playing it when it was first released... Then heard it was getting a Director's Cut so I decided to wait longer... then I was busy with other games.

I am enjoying it quite a bit. Glad I waited until it was all patched up. It definitely has the feel of old school CRPGs.

Currently playing Thea: The Awakening. Really surprised I hadn't heard of this game before. It's pretty damn amazing. A strategy survival rpg. You have a village with some inhabitants. You can create exploration parties and send them out, moving about the map in turns just as in Civ and the likes. You have to collect materials, craft food and equipment, build buildings and research better schematics and materials. You get quests and there seems to be some heavy story-telling going on. When doing quests and fighting enemies, you do so with the use of a very smart card mini-game. Every type of challenge (combat, hunting, social and many more) is played out in this card game, where your characters skills and attributes decide what they're good at. Someone may be a horrible fighter, but in a social challenge they shine and can save your entire team. This meas you have to have a pretty broad set of skills in your party, or really specialize your playstyle. There's a bit of a learning curve, and there seems to be a whole lot of things you unlock with each playthrough. There's a couple of dlc, and more to come - and they're entirely free!

I really recommend checking it out for anyone interested in strategy and 4x games, or just want to see a fresh take on such games.

I've been playing the Classic Sonic games. Sonic CD in particular.

Think of it as Sonic meets time travel. Only instead of the time travel feeling gimmicky, it actually fits quite well.

Quests are real improvement over 1&2 I'd say.(again, I'm late with it) But the writing is not and some of pieces are really disgusting down to stop being a dark humor because the humor part is not here. Obscene language like everywhere, which completely devalues it.

Playing Shadow Warrior(PS4).

This game is all kinds of fun. It looks purdy too! I just wish the uzi didn't sound like a water pistol. Goddamit, I hate it when devs don't get the weapon sounds right.

Divinity original sin on tactician mode. its fun as hell. it seems that, to compensate the difficulty the enemy could be killed easily so does you

You play a female? Literally every dude wants to fuck you and is obscene about it.

Yes. Female (player) char writing is a weak and ill spot in any mod/total conversion seen so far.
Real shame, in fallout 2 especially there were plenty of points where using your own sexuality helped immensely, not just random sex.
