General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Cleric Beast took me 3 tries, first because I got into it's area without realizing there was gonna be a boss battle there, second I got too greedy with the short weapon and the third was pretty easy, Father Gascoigne tho, I just kept getting him to low health but the fucker then stun locked me and I quickly panicked and lost, but I manage to pull a win at the end. I can consistently kill the ogres and the weird lanky guys that drop Blood shards. The Werewolves still give me trouble. I am using the Can-whip and the basic pistol, mostly putting points in Strenght, Vitality and Stamina. Put a single point into Arcane so I could use the flamethrower.

IIRC Cane is a Dexterity weapon, so putting points is Strength makes little sense.

My advice? Focus on either Dexterity or Strength build for the first playthrough. Strength is perhaps a bit better in that regard, because it has some pretty OP weapons late game that are easy to learn. Dexterity is a bit more nuanced in that regard.
Hybrid builds are a thing, naturally, but don't go hybrid early. That goes both for Arcane and Bloodtinge and what not.

If you're putting points into Strength try out the Hunter's Axe. If you're not doing bloodtinge or cannons then basic pistol is fine unless you really suck with parrying timing. I agree with Atom, focus on either Dex or Strength early on for initial playthrough. Get enough Health, I never needed anything beyond the 19 Endurance I built up to but I find stamina needs vary between builds and the players behind those builds. There will not be a way to reallocate your stat points by the way.

Endurance is kinda trick, really depends on playstyle, weapon and general preference. I personally love me a lot of Stamina, both to get in and whack like a maniac or to run away as far as possible.
Still, Vitality is a no-brainer dump stat. That all being said, boosting your main weapon stat to 30 is mandatory.

Since you have already boosted your Dex, you could look into getting a Saw Spear from Messengers in Hunter's Dream. I personally love that weapon. If you don't have it, visit Yharnam sewers in the first area.

Didn't know that about the Canewhip, I guess I just fucked up. I don't like slow weapons tho so I guess I am gonna start putting points in Dexterity now, I guess I'll keep the Saw Cleavers I got as a fall back weapon for now, I kinda like the Whip action tbh and I already used Blood shards on it so I don't want it goign to waste.

Saw Spear which I've mentioned is basically Saw Cleaver for Dex build. It has a bit different move set though, one which I personally like a lot more.

Strength weapons tend to be slower and heavier, but deal more damage. Dex are faster but less damage. No big surprise there.
Hunter's Axe which Squad has mentioned is a fucking monster of a weapon. Also, Ludwig's Holy Blade which you're gonna unlock soon isn't called Bloodborne Easy Mode for no reason.

Then I am gonna take you guys' adivce to heart. I am really digging the game.

I am gonna be streaming my entire playthrough of it here if you wanna watch me flail about:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC_KLMhA_-L0Cj5nJHSu3dQ
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and some Sundays probably, 8pm, I usually play for 3 horus at a time. I mostly speak spanish during the livestream but if you write i nthe chat in english I will reply approatedly.

Ask away if you need anything, I've played that game quite a lot.

I might drop by at some point, but no promises. I've never been particularly fond of streaming.

Been trying out some old NES games on the emulator today, in particular the old Wizards and Warriors games.
They are not particular hard or "Nintendo hard" as people sometimes call it if somewhat annoying because of all the crap that is going on such as the various enemies shooting around.
The player can attack them with a sword but can also defeat them by running into them which is probably the better method of dispatching enemies.

The first game is probably the most user friendly because of the unlimited continues (you just loose your score when you have to start over and who cares about scores outside sport games).

Wizards and Warriors 1

Wizards and Warriors 2 Ironsword (yep, the infamous one with Fabio on the cover of the box)

Wizards and Warriors 3 Kuros: Visions of Power

This one is actually kind of like a lite open world RPG. heh even sort of an Elder Scrolls game as the player has to join three different guilds in order to advance in the game, becoming a thief, wizard, and better knight.

I think the old 8 bit graphics still have a charm, being simple, cartoony, and colorful. That makes them age much better than some of the contemporary games in the NES library.

There is also a Gameboy entry but some shit design mistakes were made in that one including having to jump onto platforms that would lower into pits and go off screen.
Also no continues for some reason.

So is the blood plague thing in Bloodborne Lycanthropy? I am noticing all the bosses are wolf-like in their features, even Father Gascoigne turned into a wolf like creature and Old Yharnam is full of Werewolves and hairy ghouls. I know the setting also has a Cosmic Horror element to it.

Anyway, I put some more points into Skill, defeated the Blood Starved Beast and I am gonna try getting the Spear Rifle today.

Continue playing, all will be answered.

IIRC Rifle Spear is good in two-handed mode but the moveset kinda sucks in one handed mode, but it really depends on Bloodtinge, making it a more late-game weapon.
At any rate, I personally find the whole gimmick of having a gun attached to a spear to be somewhat redundant as there are better options, but I don't deny the fact that it can be interesting. And it fucked me up in PvP a few times.

Don't talk shit about my weaponfu the Rifle Spear, or you won't leave this forum alive.

See @Walpknut? This is why you shouldn't be using shitty weapons.

Yeah on my second character I wanted to do skill/bloodtinge and I got one of the gun swords in the game and found it easier to just use my pistol since it was what I was used to clicking and timing with anyway.

Need to get back on that to finish out my last achievement. I am just requiring myself to get a certain DLC weapon for this build which I shouldn't do to myself but I will. Not going to bother with the final boss there though. Maybe another playthrough.

I tried the Spear Rifle for a bit.... Not my type of weapon, I think I will keep using the whip as I like Fast attacks and being able to keep the enemy at arms length. It did help me kill two of those Bag Mang things when they kidnapped me in the Hypogean Gaol and I managed to get them stuck in some stairs because of the weapon's "Rush" charged move. Probably wont use it that much, the Cane whip and the Saw Spear for now are working well.

I am also using the Cane Whip partly because I can then half pretend I am playing a 3D Castlevania game that doesn't suck ass like the actual 3D Castlevania games.

If you like faster weapons, there's an NPC quest with Eileen the Crow. I won't say any more in order to not spoil anything, but if you've met her, feel free to ask.
At any rate, finishing her quest (which is obnoxiously hard, to be fair), unlocks an insanely awesome, fast Skill weapon. Maybe the fastest in game.

There's also a sick Bloodtinge + Skill weapon in the DLC, albeit getting it is also pretty damn hard. It's weird, some of the best Str weapons are quite easy to get compared to Skill.

...

That's it, I'm playing Bloodborne tonight.

If he checks the area, he should be able to do it with or without meeting her if I'm not mistaken? The only real criteria is:
That Eileen dies. Which she does if she dies vs Henryk, when you fight her last target, or if she comes after you.
I could be wrong.
