So long as you’re not a pedophile, you and me, we’re good.
Hey, don't knock it until you've tried it.

On an unrelated note, can we take a moment to appreciate that this is possibly the first debate about gender identity in the history of the Internet that is actually somewhat civil?

BR is confused. Are we trying to help Graves come out?
Less come out and more appreciate the fact that he’s bi, and while embarrassing he’s not alone in being so; there are people here willing to share in that embarrassment with him.

I have never really been embarrassed about being bi. Afraid to tell certain people because of their predicted reactions, sure, but never embarrassed. Coming from a gal this might not mean much, but nobody should be ashamed of who they are. Being gay, bi or straight is not a choice.

I’m with you on yeah. But Graves feels uncomfortable with the fact that his sexual tastes vacillate, and I wanna help him come to terms with that. Help him realize that we don’t hate him.

I don't think anyone here would hate anyone for their sexual orientation. Maybe hate you for being a millennial, lol.

Everyone should feel comfortable with their sexual orientation.

Exactly. And I want him to know that. Or rather, accept it.

Graves is just as important and as entitled to self acceptance as anyone, and it’s why I wanna help him with that if I can.

But yeah that’s basically what the whole argument was.

I'm bi because I think Hassknecht is sexy as all getout and because I got raped in the mouth by a black dude in Atlantic City after being roofied. Labels!

Now I'm feeling ashamed of being straight ... Not really.

Graves, the only way for you to stop being ashamed is for you to work on accepting it as normal. Because it is normal, plenty of people like that around. So you try to work on accepting the fact and in the future you should stop feeling embarrassed and/or ashamed.

@Arnust stop talking behind people's backs, you fucking leftist.

Feeling embarrassed by it I'd say is pretty normal. I'm not bi, or gay, but I wouldn't call myself straight either. I really do see sexuality on a scale. You can be straight, bi, or gay or a lot of the places in between there. And straight has been the norm for so long (for reasons that aren't the topic of this thread, so I won't go into that) that when you grow up in cultures that just assume you will be completely straight, it makes any other sexual inclination feel dirty or wrong or just whatever. I'd elaborate but I don't think anyone would care to read it.

I understand your feelings as best as I personally can. Of course, I'm not you and I'll never know exactly how you feel, but I can relate on some levels at least.

And even if it would be a choice, there is literaly no reason why people shouldn't be accepted like heterosexuals.

This is very true. My high school was in a more rural area in the States, so we had a lot of backward opinions and debates there. A good bit of kids used to ask other kids if they thought being bisexual and/or homosexual was a choice or not. I always told them it was mostly irrelevant as to whether or not it was a choice as it doesn't really hurt anyone else. If you are interacting with consenting, sound-minded adults and aren't harming the environment or the well being of others, what the hell do I care what you do?

Logical enough, but neurologically it comes down to having someone to unload all your shit onto. There's a desperate and everlasting quest for scapegoats, someone deserving of all the bile and shit.
Some people cope better than others, me and my brother are the same blood, same brood, but he has a tendency to more easily fall for that stuff. If he had a shit day at work, then homosexuality is super-wrong and the immigrants are bags of scum. If he's had a great day, then all humans of all creeds are a-okay in his book.

Politics have known how to exploit this since forever
