Independent/Yes Man or Mr.House ending?

Where does the idea that the Legion wants to burn down Vegas come from? I see it stated a lot, but it contradicts what were are told in the game. Caesar pretty explicitly states he wants Vegas to be his Rome, the glorious capitol of his new empire; that sounds more like building it up than tearing it down.

My guess is that independent Vegas will be canon ending if they ever decide they need a canon ending, the Legion and NCR fighting to bloody stalemate and neither having the ability to take over Vegas. However, both Legion and NCR endings could work as well. NCR could regroup against a more established and advanced Legion with a Legion ending, or NCR to self destruct in a NCR ending. There are a lot of options, no matter what they decide.

NCR becoming too big for their own good
Is'nt that what most of NV was about?

while staging a slow, gradual, and most of all durable expansion from a small town to a near-million strong empire over the course of a century is bad and bland?
Pretty much.

I miss the Mad Max days
So do I.

The NCR fanclub have made that up along with various other things to justify themswelves and paint differeing opinions in a bad light.

It mostly comes from people not reading the dialogue. Or never doing a Legion Playthrough. Like when those guys that love to say that teh NCR wants to kill the Ghouls for no reason after the game is over, or that they have no backstory, people that don't read or can't remember what they read afterwards. where do these people come from?

The Capital Wasteland?

Your bringing up a topic from another thread. But since were on that topic ill tell you that my reasoning.

The Bright Brotherhood ghouls feel that their lot is so bad that they have to flee not only the mojave, but also the planet. If things were so great for them in the NCR why would they be so desperate? My conjacture is no different than from any one else on this site.

The Bright Brotherhood are not NCR native Ghouls, they never even speak of the NCR hunting them down, they mention that they are on the recieving end of prejudice, wich is logical, the NCR is no prejudice free, btu they never talk about killing off the Ghouls, speacialy their Veteran Ranger Ghouls, they don't even imply it at any moment, so your conjecture is very very flawed and lacking in actual insight or even proper reading of the dialogue.

Well you brought the topic back, I just continued the conversation, you know, like in a forum?

I know, if you want to coninue the ghoul speculation I have no problem with that, but we should do this on a different thread than what to exspect from honest hearts.

I think you didn't read the topic title, this is about whether the Independent or House ending would be the canon ending. See? proper reading.

BTW, in one of the good endings it is mentionend that the Bright ghouls dont fly to some other planet, just another country on our world to live in peace. Not really ontopic, but wanted to pull that in. :D

It was? Multiple characters comment that if they keep expanding with that pace (and with their current approach) they will encounter trouble relatively soon, but I don't remember signs of a crisis right behind the corner.

There was a lot of talk about how the NCR is already spread too thin to keep their territory. The morale of the soldiers being low, support, supply and logistics close to collapsing.

The Legion are interesting as hell as either villains or flawed heroes. More than Romans they remind of of Mongol or Apache warriors for their fear based hit and run tactics as well as their ability to fight both with ranged and mellee weopons.

I find their unconvetioanal style of war far more interesting than just a lowtech version of a modern army. Their fear based tactics are very rminicent of the Vietcong, or Mujahadeen fighters. They just have more character and I hope too see them in future games. The NCR would be the worst because their your typical apple pie good guy underdogs that miraculously manage to get their shit together to vanquish the evil ulta right, or leftist boogiemen who threaten the liberal democratic values of the writers. This scenario we have seen played out in far too many movies, books, and games. Frankly i like a little variety.

Quag, you realy don't pay attetnon to dialogue, don't you? because thats the most strawman and inaccurate description fo the NCR I have ever seen, and you seem to go all over the place with wich one you prefer.

To be honest, I find the lower tech version of a modern army quite interesting, since you can explore strategy and tactics without relying upon or worrying about armor and air support, and generally, artillery. Far more interesting than "THOSE GUYS HAVE GUNS LETS GO AND TRY TO STAB 'EM!"*

*i realise this isn't accurate.

I think the NCR expanding precariously into the Mojave should be the canon ending. It would be better if the courier was not this 'great hero', 'saviour of humanity' figure again. He is a hero, put a hero only NCR's regime.

That is not an 'apple pie' ending as someone previously suggested. It's not about and democracy wins over YEAH! It is actually a pretty bleak outlook; human beings have not really changed nor have they learnt anything.

'war never changes'

Neither does our species. The NCR ending gives the story so much great potential for a sequel. I would love the next two games to be a New Vegas sequel set back in the NCR, all the old haunts. Only if Obsidian do it mind! Then the other game should be set further back in the timeline; if Bethesda do that one then stick to the east coast please!

My opinion is more that sequels should go to new regions instead of going back where we have already been.

I would like to see a combination of NCR/Yes Man ending.
Yes Man with the help from the player takes over New Vegas from House, but keeps up the pretense that he is House.

NCR would take full control of the Mojave and expand East wards but not control New Vegas and House's Pre War technology, turning the NCR into a technological powerhouse overnight.

And Quag, quit it with the NCR fan club idiocy.
There are plenty of irrational posts you have been making in the past or your obsession with the Enclave.

Sure, in the Mojave wasteland, not in the NCR as a whole.
