ING "Opinion; Fallout 4 should be the last Fallout"

I doubt such a crash would have to much impact on kick starter or indie development teams, they are already workin with low budgets and people go to kickstarter to avoid those AAA titles. So yeah, even if it all implodes, if you're not actually craving those titles like crack, you will be most probably alright. I mean even without EA and Ubisoft and the other big ones, we will still see games like Batman Arkham Asylum or other fun titles.

I replayed the game recently to test out some mods.... the writting.... oh my god, it phisicaly hurts. Specially the game's absolutely laughable attempts at throwing badass one liners... specially what the player character tells Kellog before fighting starts "In a hundred years, when I finally die, I hope I go to hell just so I can kill you over and over again, piece of shit".... Who the fuck wrote that line? Emile's 10 year old son? All the sarcastic dialogue options are just.... eugh..... "Oh the detective with the metal hands forgot how to go back to the factory?" "Say it like Frankenstein, Igor bring me the brain"...... I felt like I got dumber after replaying it...

Yeah, I can't even boot the shit up. I have more desire to play Fallout 3. That is fucking sad. When I want to play Fallout 3 more than Fallout 4 - you done fucked up. Because I hate Fallout 3. Badly.

Yeah a lot of people here do. And I think I prefer playing Fallout 3 now...

5 Reasons the Video Game Industry Is About to Crash

Are We On The Cusp Of Another Video Game Industry Crash?

Like I said, I don't think it's all doom and gloom. But they make some very reasonable points. It does seem like the big AAA companies always struggle to find new ways of financing their franchises that cost sometimes 100 or even 200 milion dollar in production. Those are quite inflated production costs!

This one was also an interesting read: http://whatculture.com/gaming/10-reasons-the-video-game-industry-is-heading-for-another-crash.php
(It's one of those annoying ones where they divide it up into 10 pages though)

Well of course they would consider it a failure after spending 200 million + for marketing only contributing a small percentage on the game itself(lets be honest if there was a game that used all of that on the game itself with care it would probably turn out to be a great game rather than a stinker) then resulting in only making 10 million back. It's all about the marketing to get the most preorders and sales to have some silly dick measuring contest on top of swimming and wiping their asses with money.

What on earth gave people the idea that Bethesda would do better unhinged and unleashed, I shudder to think of what Emil would come up with if not limited by game design and the higher ups

Authors such as the one that wrote that IGN article salivate over mediocre, childish games like F4 in the same way people swoon over that average-not-actually-that-great Star Wars film (which felt like it was written by teenage fan fiction writer) which is hardly a throwback to the superior 70s/80s SW films (Generation X Spastic Humor included). Hype is strong and it makes you 'want' to like it, especially when you purchase something with your earned income.

Umm the original movie wasn't good, even George Lucas and the majority of the actors for it hated it or disliked it. It got so popular because it was different and unique at the time, with great special effects (even as George thought they sucked).

I really didn't consider Fallout 4 childish... mediocre, maybe; bad writing, sure; narrative and tone poorly set, definitely; not fitting for Fallout, absolutely. But it didn't really seem all that childish to me. Then again, I did enjoy the new Stars Wars a lot, so maybe I'm just working my likes and dislikes off a different spectrum from you.

Trust me, TFA will be analyzed in the future for its shittyness embedded within since people are starved for SW. The rest of the episodes will have a lot to live up to. I saw the same 'hype' with people when TPM was unleashed ("oooo saber jedi battles"). This is TFA in a nutshell.

Disney can kiss my ass for not using the good bits of the EU too, instead they used the stupid parts of the EU like "teh evils emo Jacen Solo that throws tantrums." Dumb, Fan Fiction, Level Writing. Typical JJ nonsense, JJ is to movies as Emil is to vidya games.

Star Wars is literally Flash Gordon fan fiction. So... yeah...

Keep in mind Jared Petty has said his favorite Fallout game is still Fallout 2. Yet he still loves Fallout 4 this much.
